Sat Sep 1 201211:09Darius Songaila still hopes for NBA return
Darius Songaila recently signed with BC Donetsk in the Ukraine, but his contract includes an 'out-clause' that would enable him to leave for the NBA.
Songaila played in Turkey last season and he may not draw any interest in the U.S., but he's leaving his options open. "I don't want to spend the whole year somewhere in Europe far away from my daughter," he said.

Darius Songaila scored 11 points for Lithuania vs. Team USA on Saturday, and said afterward that he wants to return to the NBA.
Songaila was born in Russia, he averaged 7.9 points in Turkey last year, he is playing for Lithuania in the Olympics, and he has played 495 games for five different teams during his eight-year NBA career, averaging 6.9 points on 49.9 percent FGs and 84.4 percent FTs. What we don't know is whether any NBA team will give him a veteran's minimum contract.

Thu Jan 26 201209:27Darius Songaila parts ways with Turkish team
Darius Songaila has reached an agreement with his Turkish team to part ways.
Songaila signed a $1.5 million contract to play in Turkey back in July, and his agent said at the time that he would've stayed in the NBA had it not been for the lockout. He may draw some interest from teams looking for help down low, but he's highly unlikely to garner any fantasy value in standard sized leagues.

Fri Jul 8 201120:07Sixers' Songaila signs to play in Turkey
Sixers free agent forward Darius Songaila has agreed to a $1.5 million, one-year deal with Turkey Galatasaray, according to agent Mark Bartelstien.
Of course, Bartelstien says his client would have stayed in the NBA without the lockout. Songaila was an unrestricted free agent and hails from Lithuania, so this move makes a lot of sense for him. Especially since he played in just 10 games for Philly last year.

Thu Sep 23 201011:30Songaila set to join Sixers after trade
Darius Songaila has reportedly been traded to the Sixers from the Hornets.
It looks like he could be No. 2 on the depth chart behind Thaddeus Young at power forward. Songaila has always had the potential to be a solid player, but hasn't taken advantage of his chances. And we're not expecting much to change in Philly.
Wed Jun 23 201015:03Songaila opts in to stay with Hornets
Darius Songaila will exercise his player option and stay with the Hornets next season.
Of course he will. He'll blame a crowded free agent market for the move, but he simply wasn't going to be paid more money to look for a new deal and team.
