LOS ANGELES (AP) — New Los Angeles Clippers coach Tyronn Lue has finalized his staff for the upcoming NBA season. Dan Craig was hired as associate head coach, along with assistants Kenny Atkinson, Chauncey Billups, Larry Drew and Roy Rogers. Assistants Jeremy Castleberry and Brendan O’Connor are holdovers from the staff of Doc Rivers, who left and took the head coaching job in Philadelphia. Cam Hodges, Shaun Fein, Dahntay Jones and Beau Levesque were hired in coaching and player development roles. Craig spent 17 seasons with the Miami Heat, including four years as an assistant coach. Atkinson spent the last four years as head coach of the Brooklyn Nets, leading the team to a postseason berth in 2018-19. Billups joins the team he once played for after working as an NBA analyst for ESPN, and a Clippers game analyst for Prime Ticket. Drew spent six years with Cleveland, including one as head coach in 2018-19. Rogers was an assistant last season with the Chicago Bulls. Hodges worked last season with the Philadelphia 76ers. Fein spent the last four years with Brooklyn. Jones played 13 years in the NBA, winning a title with Cleveland in 2016. CLEVELAND (AP) — Veteran forward Kendrick Perkins is back with the Cleveland Cavaliers.Cleveland signed Perkins on Wednesday, the final day of the regular season, and will have him on its playoff roster as it tries to make the NBA Finals for the fourth straight year. The 33-year-old Perkins was with the Cavs during their 2015 run to the Finals.The 6-foot-10 Perkins also was with Cleveland during training camp this season and spent time with its Canton G-League affiliate. Perkins hasn't played in the NBA since 2016 with New Orleans.Perkins gives Cleveland some frontcourt depth in case of an injury and another player with postseason experience who can provide leadership.A 13-year veteran, Perkins has also played for Boston and Oklahoma City. Jones, who signed on the final day of the regular season, was whistled for two technicals on the same play with 18.7 seconds left in the fourth quarter. It will cost him $6,000 in fines.Last year, Jones was suspended for a game for punching Bismack Biyombo in the groin.

The Cleveland Cavaliers waived center Larry Sanders on Wednesday, ending the experiment before the start of the playoffs.The team roster now stands at 13, but the Cavs' reportedly plan to sign 7-foot-3 center Edy Tavares from the NBA Development League.The 6-11 Sanders, the once promising forward-center who left pro basketball two years ago, appeared in five games after signing with the Cavs on March 13. He recorded four points, four rebounds and one block in 13 minutes of action. In four games for the Cavaliers' D-League affiliate in Canton, Sanders averaged four points, eight rebounds and 2.5 blocks.Tavares played mostly this season for Toronto's D-League affiliate and averaged 10.6 points and 2.7 blocks.The Cavs will also sign veteran Dahntay Jones, who hasn't played basketball at all this season. The 36-year-old Jones will take the spot on Cleveland's roster vacated by DeAndre Liggins, who was waived Sunday.The Cavs (51-30) host the Toronto Raptors in the season finale Wednesday night and will be either the No. 1 or No. 2 seed heading into the playoffs this weekend.

He appeared in 15 postseason games with the Cavaliers, averaging 1.1 points in 3.3 minutes per game.

After joining the Clippers on Jan. 14 last season, Jones played a bit role in the backcourt rotation, appearing in 33 of a possible 44 regular season contests. Overall, the 34-year-old averaged 0.6 points (on 29 percent shooting) and 0.3 rebounds in 3.7 minutes, which doesn't inspire confidence whether he makes the 15-man roster out of training camp or not.

Jones managed just 0.6 points (29% FG, 0% 3Pt, 82% FT), 0.3 rebounds, 0.1 assists, and 0.1 steals in four minutes per game during 33 regular season games in 2014-15.

During 11 postseason games, Jones averaged 0.4 points (100% FG, 0% 3Pt, 0% FT), 0.1 rebounds, and 0.2 steals in two minutes per game. The 34-year-old guard is an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Jones played less than a minute versus the Spurs in Game 2.

Jones checked in to give a foul, and that's about all fantasy owners should expect from him. He hasn't played more than a minute since April 5th, and has not scored since March 25th.

The incident, captured live after a nationally televised game on ABC, prompted a long stare from Green mid-interview. Later on in the Warriors' locker room, Green addressed the incident with comments that included a few put-downs aimed at Jones, who did not play in the game.

Jones will remain with the Clippers for the rest of the season.

In the span of two 10-day contracts, Jones has made eight appearances in 11 games. However, his output -- four points (2-7 FG, 0-1 3Pt), one rebound, and one steal in 29 minutes -- has been negligible, leaving him with almost no fantasy appeal.

Jones will be signed to a second 10-day contract by the Clippers on Saturday, FOX Sports West reports.

Jones has made four appearances during his stay with the Clippers, logging fewer than 10 minutes of court time on each occasion. While he's not making much of a statistical impact for the club, coach Doc Rivers has been most satisfied with the mentoring role he's taken on in the locker room, where he's served as a key sounding board for Austin Rivers and C.J. Wilcox. The Clippers seem content to keep him around the rest of the way.

The veteran last played for the Mavericks in 2012-13, averaging 3.5 points and shooting 35.7 percent from the field in 50 contests (15 starts). He's spent the first few months of this season in the D-League, putting up 14.4 points (53.7% FG) and 3.4 rebounds for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. It's unclear, exactly, what prompted the move from the Clippers, but if Jones sticks around he'll primarily serve as a perimeter defender who shouldn't see a heavy minutes load. "He can guard points, he can guards twos and threes," coach Doc Rivers said. "We'll give him a try and see if he has anything and if he doesn't, we'll go another route." Jones is expected to join the team prior to Wednesday night's game in Portland.

The Knicks are expected to work out Dahntay Jones.

The Sixers and Nets are also expected to give him a look. Jones is from Hamilton, NJ, so staying close to home may explain the location of these workouts. He is a longshot to make any team's rotation.

New York has two open roster spots and they're reportedly hoping to fill one of them with a wing defender. Jones fits the bill but he's extremely unlikely to provide fantasy value even if he does land a 10-day contract with the Knicks.
