Tue Jun 30 201519:10Kaman wasn't waived by Blazers on Tuesday
Kaman wasn't waived by the Blazers on Tuesday, meaning he'll remain with the organization in 2015-16, CSNNW.com reports.
Prior to last season, Kaman inked a two-year deal with the Blazers, which included a team option for the second season. In conjunction with the addition of Mason Plumlee on draft night, Portland has likely taken themselves out of the running to resign Robin Lopez, but in any case, Kaman will provide support to the center rotation once again this coming season.

Kaman said Thursday that he'd like to return to Portland next season, Casey Holdahl of Blazers.com reports. The Blazers have not announced if they will pick up his $5 million team option.
Kaman was productive off the bench this season, averaging 8.6 points and 6.5 rebounds in only 18.9 minutes per game. It's unclear what direction Portland will go this season, as a number of key players, including Robin Lopez and LaMarcus Aldridge are set to become free agents. Kaman spent much of the season backing up Lopez, but Lopez struggled down the stretch, while third-year center Myers Leonard emerged as an offensive threat. With Leonard seemingly headed for an expanded role next season, it seems unlikely that Portland would hold onto both Lopez and Kaman, and the team is yet to tip its hand as to whether it plans to bring either player back. If Kaman's option is declined, he'll seek his fifth NBA team in as many seasons.

Kaman (ankle) was considered probable for Game 4 against the Grizzlies, but ultimately logged a DNP-CD.
Kaman was hopeful to play Monday, but unfortunately did not make it onto the court. Although he's listed as a DNP-CD, there's a high likelihood that the Blazers were just being cautious with the veteran. Fortunately for his team, the Blazers managed to prevent getting swept, which means Kaman will have a chance to return in Game 5.

Kaman (ankle) is listed as probable for Game 4 against the Grizzlies on Monday.
Kaman actually played through his ankle sprain in Game 3 on Saturday so it would be a bit surprising if he stayed off the court in Game 4. He's averaging 15.5 minutes on the court in the playoffs thus far and will likely see around that same total Monday if he does in fact play.

Kaman (ankle) has been ruled out for Wednesday's Game 2 against the Grizzlies, Joe Freeman of The Oregonian reports.
Kaman was dealing with a back issue coming into the first round series, but the Blazers are now listing him as "out" with a left ankle injury, which he apparently suffered in practice Tuesday. Kaman posted seven points and six rebounds in 14 minutes in Game 1, and in his absence, expect Meyers Leonard and Joel Freeland to pick up some extra run off the bench.

Kaman (back) had a solid performance in Game 1 against the Grizzlies, posting seven points, six rebounds, and two assists in 14 minutes of action.
Kaman is playing behind LaMarcus Aldridge and Robin Lopez in the rotation, so seeing 14 minutes per night isn't unexpected. Still, he was able to post solid numbers in limited minutes, and it isn't hard to expect him to continue that trend moving forward.

Kaman (back) is listed as probable for Sunday's playoff opener at Memphis.
Kaman has dealt with back issues at times this season, including at the end of the regular season, when he sat out the finale. In the nine games in which he was afforded three-plus days of rest this season, he contributed a modest 6.4 points (on 45 percent shooting), 7.4 rebounds, 0.9 blocks, and 0.8 assists in 18 minutes per outing.

Kaman (back) picked up a DNP-Coach's Decision in Wednesday's season finale at Dallas.
In the last six games of the season, Kaman was held out one time for rest purposes and Wednesday due to a lower-back injury. When he did take the court, he managed 6.0 points (on 63 percent shooting), 3.3 rebounds, and 0.8 assists in 12 minutes per outing. His recent workload is a far cry from the 19 per game that he logged this season, meaning he should be plenty rested for Sunday's playoff opener in Memphis. However, his back concern will be something to keep an eye in the meantime.

Kaman (back) is expected to sit out Wednesday's game agains the Mavericks, Joe Freeman of The Oregonian reports.
Kaman is still dealing with a lower-back injury, and the Blazers will likely keep him out Wednesday in hopes of having him as close to full strength as possible for the start of the playoffs.
Tue Apr 14 201519:26Kaman (back) questionable for Wednesday's game
Kaman (back) is questionable for Wednesday's game, The Oregonian's Joe Freeman reports.
The Blazers are decimated by injuries, and if Kaman cannot play in the season finale Wednesday, it will mean more minutes for Joel Freeland and Meyers Leonard.
Mon Apr 13 201523:02Kaman injured back against Thunder on Monday
Kaman injured his back against the Thunder on Monday, The Oregonian reports.
Kaman should be considered day-to-day ahead of the season finale against the Mavericks on Wednesday. Portland already clinched a spot in the playoffs so they may ultimately decide to rest Kaman on Wednesday as a precaution.

Kaman contributed four points, two rebounds, and one assist during 10 minutes of action off the bench against the Warriors on Thursday.
Kaman has an ancillary role in Portland and there's no reason to believe that will change over the final few games of the regular season. As it stands, LaMarcus Aldridge and Robin Lopez see the bulk of minutes in the frontcourt.

Sun Apr 5 201510:21Kaman (rest) ruled out for Monday's road game against Brooklyn
Kaman (rest) has been ruled out for Monday's road game against Brooklyn.
Kaman is coming off a strong double-double performance on Saturday, but has been fairly injury prone throughout his career, so resting him on a one-game road trip makes sense. Portland should have Kaman ready to roll against Minnesota at home on Wednesday.

Kaman scored 16 points (7-10 FG, 2-2 FT) with 11 rebounds, one assist and two steals in just 21 minutes Saturday against the Pelicans.
Kaman is now averaging 8.2 rebounds in his last six games, but that is the only real category in which you can rely on the veteran backup. Still, with the season winding down, getting a consistent source of boards may be the difference between victory and defeat, so Kaman can be considered for some teams.

Kaman recorded 12 points (6-7 FG), seven boards, and one block in 16 minutes during Monday's demolition of the Suns.
Since missing three games last week due to a sprained shoulder, Kaman has appeared revitalized the past three outings, averaging 10 points (on 56 percent shooting), nine rebounds, and one block in 17 minutes. Such efficiency is imperative when the defensive-minded Robin Lopez requires a rest, especially with a prime seed possible in the staunch Western Conference.
Fri Mar 27 201515:29Kaman (shoulder) probable for Friday's game against Suns
Kaman (shoulder) is probable for Friday's game against the Suns.
Kaman has missed three games since spraining his shoulder against the Magic last Friday. He's expected back agains the Suns, though a final call won't come until he's able to be evaluated during shootaround. If he does play, expect him to see his usual complement of 16-18 minutes as the backup to Robin Lopez.
