Fri Oct 25 201313:29Diop and others get waived on Friday
DeSagana Diop, Kenny Kadji, Jermaine Taylor and Elliot Williams were waived by the Cavs on Friday.
None of these guys had much of a shot with Cleveland adding so much depth this year. They have a couple rookies in Matthew Dellevadova and Sergey Karasev playing well while Henry Sims had a nice month, too. Diop is unlikely to make another team until teams start looking for guys on 10-day deals.

Tue Oct 1 201310:06Cavs invite DeSagana Diop to training camp
The Cavs have invited DeSagana Diop to training camp.
"It's hard to find big guys," said Cavs GM Chris Grant. The Cavs frontcourt is somewhat stacked even without a healthy Andrew Bynum, who still has no return date, and there's no reason to give Diop a second thought.

DeSagana Diop moved into the Bobcats' starting lineup on Saturday, but he went scoreless in nine minutes.
The move could be designed to light a spark under Brendan Haywood, who played 10 minutes off the bench, but either way Diop offers negligible fantasy value.

Sat Sep 29 201210:17DeSagana Diop in much better shape
DeSagana Diop has lost considerable weight and now weighs less than 300 pounds, according to the Charlotte Observer.
Diop was at least 30 pounds heavier last season, when his conditioning was so poor that he simply couldn't contribute. It's nice to hear that he's in better shape but we're not expecting any miracles -- Diop has averaged a mere 23 games played over the past three seasons in Charlotte, and now Brendan Haywood has assumed starting center duties.

Wed Sep 26 201213:30DeSagana Diop looks lighter in workouts
Beat writer Rick Bonnell believes DeSagana Diop "looks lighter" than he was last season.
This is good news for Diop, who looked like he was very much out of shape for the majority of last season. Despite the weight loss, Diop isn't expected to challenge for consistent playing time behind Bismack Biyombo and Brendan Haywood.

Sun Apr 22 201222:47Diop returns from Achilles ailment on Sunday
DeSagana Diop (Achilles) played 11 minutes off the bench on Sunday, scoring two points and grabbing four rebounds.
It's sort of absurd that Diop would even be active in a lopsided game at the end of a lost season, but it makes sense in the context of the 2011-12 Bobcats.

Paul and Stephen Silas would probably like to develop him for the future, but we doubt 56-year old Diop's ailing body is going to cooperate.

DeSagana Diop (hamstring) returned to action on Thursday, playing nine minutes with one rebound and one assist to his credit.
Diop really has no business on the floor these days, but Paul Silas is going to give him minutes to spell his young guys, anyway. Still, there's no fantasy value here, obviously.

DeSagana Diop will not play on Saturday for an undisclosed reason.

Fri Jan 27 201207:47DeSagana Diop to start for Bobcats on Friday
DeSagana Diop, not B.J. Mullens, will start for the Bobcats on Friday against the Sixers.
Mullens has a bruised left hand and this corroborates an earlier report that he'd be coming off the bench. Diop isn't a fantasy option but his move to the starting lineup throws more cold water on Mullens' downward pointing stock.
