Mon May 8 202310:07Landry Shamet Plays Key Role In Game 4 Win
Phoenix Suns shooting guard Landry Shamet became an unexpected fourth-quarter hero in Sunday's Game 4 victory over the Nuggets, popping up from nowhere with four triples. He shot 5-for-8 in total from deep and 6-for-9 overall during a 19-point performance. The 26-year-old didn't register anything else to his stat line, but the triples were more than enough to help the team tie the series at two. Shamet has seen very little usage in the playoffs, but he ended up logging the third-most minutes on the team Sunday behind Kevin Durant and Devin Booker. However, after scoring just 14 points in total during the rest of the postseason, a repeat of his Sunday's efforts isn't likely by Shamet in Tuesday's Game 5.

LeBron James Injury Update

James injured his right foot during the third quarter of Sunday's comeback win over the Dallas Mavericks. It was a tense few seconds after the multi-time MVP clutched his foot after suffering what was deemed a "non-contact injury." The concern grew to greater heights after he was overheard saying, "I heard a pop." Situations like this are never good, as many were concerned that an Achilles tear could be the culprit.https://twitter.com/FanDuelTV/status/1630602449227595777?s=20Yet, after James gathered himself, he tightened his shoe and finished the game, totaling 26 points, eight rebounds, one block, and one steal. Head coach Darvin Ham appeared optimistic while speaking postgame, stating the 38-year-old was "good."However, that couldn't be further from the case, with The Athletic's Shams Charania reporting that James would "miss an extended period of time" because of the foot injury. Charania later added that the all-time scoring leader would "require multiple opinions."https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1630363560051187712?s=20

LeBron James' Season Recap

Despite James' advanced NBA age, he's still productive. In 47 appearances, he's averaged 29.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 6.9 assists. While his three-point percentage has regressed, that's never been his strong suit.James was also named an All-Star captain while recently passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the NBA's all-time scoring leader.https://twitter.com/NBAonTNT/status/1623184801284104192?s=20That said, despite some high-level accomplishments, the year has been a rough one for the 2003 No. 1 overall pick. He's battled left foot soreness for nearly the entire season, so much so that he routinely carried some type of injury designation heading into almost all of his games over the last few months.... Thu Feb 23 202316:23Landry Shamet To Be Re-Evaluated In A Week
Phoenix Suns guard Landry Shamet (foot) has officially been ruled out for their contest on Friday against the Oklahoma City Thunder and he'll be re-evaluated in the coming week. The 25-year-old hasn't played since January 16 and will be out for at least a few more weeks to tend to his foot issue. Fantasy managers might not want to depend on him when he does return as the addition of Terrence Ross will diminish the fantasy value of Shamet as well.

Kyrie Irving's Season Recap

Irving got suspended for an antisemitic social media post, keeping him out of the lineup for eight games. But since then, the 30-year-old stayed out of the limelight, so most had assumed he finally turned things around. He's played well all season, averaging 27.1 points, 5.3 assists, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.0 steals in 40 appearances.https://twitter.com/ShamsCharania/status/1622324668047794177?s=20&t=NTffJ2tRvNpjAA7bddjYHQHe was also selected to the All-Star team for the eighth time in his career. Marcus Smart Injury Update

The Celtics were without Jayson Tatum for Saturday's meeting with Toronto, as the MVP candidate got the day off to deal with wrist soreness. Luckily, the C's recently got Jaylen Brown back from a three-game layoff, so the team at least had its No. 2 scoring option. Boston also had Marcus Smart, who is proficient on both ends of the floor.Unfortunately, the reigning NBA Defensive Player of the Year's evening didn't last long, as he exited in the first half after suffering a sprained right ankle. Smart has battled ankle injuries throughout his career, so fantasy managers are familiar with this.https://twitter.com/ChrisForsberg_/status/1616933981362028546?s=20&t=ADA6dM_t2muMcgq6cJRitwWhile X-ray results were encouraging, revealing no structural damage, he'll likely miss a game or two, possibly more. LaMelo Ball Injury Update

LaMelo Ball exited Monday's meeting with the Rockets with a sprained left ankle. This is an all too familiar ailment, as the 21-year-old injured it twice already this season. He missed the first 13 games of the 2022-23 campaign because of it before making his season debut on November 12 against Miami.https://twitter.com/HornetsOnBally/status/1615898994508546048?s=20&t=2ONmwk9cIuX1k5z8xOpxsQUnfortunately, the 2020 No. 3 overall pick was incapacitated again after stepping on a fan's foot during a matchup with Indiana just a few days later, keeping him sidelined for an additional 11 games. Donovan Mitchell Injury Update

Donovan Mitchell has been on a tear in his first season as a Cavalier, averaging a career-high 28.8 points per game. The 26-year-old has certainly made an impact, so there is naturally some concern surrounding his most recent injury, a groin strain, suffered during Monday's win over the Pelicans.https://twitter.com/ChrisFedor/status/1615106299636719632?s=20&t=nIB5An7gWfmmxjT49g7LLAMitchell exited in the third quarter and did not return to the contest, finishing with 11 points in 22 minutes. The former Louisville Cardinal has stayed relatively healthy in 2022-23, missing only five games. However, with the Cavs looking to make a deep run into the postseason, Mitchell may miss some games, beginning with Wednesday's meeting in Memphis.https://twitter.com/AmicoHoops/status/1615116579011690502?s=20&t=8uEcBgsFXrfQNXVsKuQmNAWithout him in the lineup, others will have to step up. Mon Jan 16 202317:53Landry Shamet To Start Versus Grizzlies
Phoenix Suns guard Landry Shamet (hip) will make his return to the court after a three-game absence. He'll immediately move into the starting five with Chris Paul (hip) still sidelined. Shamet should have decent streaming appeal with increased playing time. Duane Washington Jr. will head to the bench and won't have as strong of appeal with the second unit.

Tue Jan 10 202320:59Landry Shamet Ruled Out For Tuesday
Phoenix Suns guard Landry Shamet (hip) has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Golden State Warriors. This hurts with the Suns already shorthanded for this contest. The team is without Deandre Ayton, Chris Paul, Devin Booker, and Shamet for Tuesday's contest. The expectation is that Damion Lee or Josh Okogie would move into the starting five. Between the two, Lee is the better streaming option, but neither are anything more than deep league options.

Fri Dec 30 202217:45Landry Shamet Remains Unavailable For Friday’s Game
Phoenix Suns shooting guard Landry Shamet (Achilles) has been ruled out for Friday's contest vs. the Raptors, marking his third straight outing on the sidelines due to a sore right Achilles. Shamet has been in line for significant offensive upside with Devin Booker (groin) out for the next month, but after dropping 31 points in two of his last three appearances, the fifth-year pro has been unable to get back into action. Duane Washington Jr. stands to see a sizable workload again, making him a savvy DFS option against Toronto. Shamet's next chance to suit up comes Monday against New York.

Mon Dec 26 202223:21Landry Shamet Won't Play On Tuesday Evening
Phoenix Suns guard Landry Shamet (Achilles) won't suit up for Tuesday's matchup with Memphis. Devin Booker (groin) lasted only four minutes during the Christmas clash with Denver before exiting. As a result, Shamet entered the game and finished with a career-high 31 points while shooting 7-for-17 from deep. But now that Booker, Shamet, and Cameron Payne (foot) aren't available against the Grizzlies, Damion Lee, who scored 18 points on Sunday, should move into the starting lineup.

Wed Dec 21 202210:30Landry Shamet Has His Best Game Of The Season In Loss
Phoenix Suns guard Landry Shamet played the most minutes of the season on Tuesday night during the team's loss to the Washington Wizards. With Devin Booker out, Shamet had to step up as he came off of the bench, and he turned in his best scoring game of the year so far. The 25-year-old finished with 31 points on 10-for-21 shooting and he hit nine of his 16 three-point attempts. On top of that, he chipped in two rebounds and five assists. Fantasy managers shouldn't chase this type of production from him because more often than not he'll play under 20 minutes per game once Booker returns.

Sat Nov 26 202219:33Landry Shamet To Play On Saturday
Phoenix Suns guard Landry Shamet will be available for Saturday's game against the Utah Jazz. The 25-year-old has finally been cleared on concussion protocols that has sidelined him since November 9. It's uncertain if the team plans to limit Shamet during his first game back on the court. He can be counted on for a few triples a game, but is more of a deep league streaming option. Shamet can be left on the waiver wire in most fantasy formats.

Wed Nov 23 202220:42Landry Shamet Able To Practice On Wednesday
Phoenix Suns guard Landry Shamet (concussion) was able to practice on Wednesday. This is great news after Shamet has missed the last six games due to being in concussion protocol. It appears he's finally getting closer to playing again, which is great news for the Suns. Fantasy managers should consider Shamet as questionable for Friday's game against the Detroit Pistons. He probably won't have a huge role in the rotation, so Shamet will really only be a deep league streaming option.

Fri Nov 11 202216:13Landry Shamet Will Miss Friday's Game
Phoenix Suns guard Landry Shamet (concussion symptoms) will not suit up for the team's game on Friday night against the Orlando Magic. When healthy, Shamet was only a real fantasy option in deeper leagues. Now that he'll be out, and Chris Paul is questionable, this opens the door to a couple of players to get some more minutes. Damion Lee and Josh Okogie are likely to get some more looks off of the bench. Their streaming value still isn't very high as Shamet is only getting around 16 minutes per contest.

Sun Apr 17 202221:04Landry Shamet Available For Game 1
Phoenix Suns guard Landry Shamet (foot) is listed as available for Sunday's first-round opener against the New Orleans Pelicans. The 25-year-old had been labeled as day-to-day after suffering a left foot injury ahead of Game 1. However, while Shamet will be in uniform, it's unlikely he will serve much of a purpose for DFS managers looking to make a late swap.

Sat Apr 16 202215:33Landry Shamet Misses Practice Friday
Phoenix Suns shooting guard/small forward Landry Shamet (foot) was unable to participate in Friday's practice, with head coach Monty Williams slapping a day-to-day designation on the sharpshooter. Shamet sustained a left foot injury preparing for Game 1 of the Western Conference playoffs vs. New Orleans, with a potential absence paving the way for Aaron Holiday and Cameron Johnson to see elevated roles among the second unit. Shamet averaged in double figures during both March (10.7 PPG) and April (10.2), as he shot 39.1% from behind the arc during the second half. Fantasy managers will want to check back prior to tip-off Sunday to see if Shamet can ultimately suit up.

Sun Apr 3 202218:43Landry Shamet, Cameron Johnson Starting Sunday
Phoenix Suns guard Landry Shamet, forward Cameron Johnson and center JaVale McGee will be part of the starting five for Sunday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. They'll be joining regular starters Chris Paul and Mikal Bridges on the court. Usual starters Devin Booker (rest), Deandre Ayton (rest) and Jae Crowder (ankle) are all out for the game. Shamet, Johnson and McGee are all very much worthy of streaming for Sunday's game, especially given the favorable matchup. Shamet and Johnson should see a lot of usage and produce a good amount of three-pointers and points. McGee, meanwhile, will be a solid source of rebounds, blocks and field goal percentage.

Mon Feb 21 202219:34Cameron Payne, Landry Shamet To Return On Thursday
Phoenix Suns guards Cameron Payne (wrist) and Landry Shamet (ankle) will play in Thursday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Payne has been out since late January, but is expected to slide into the starting five with Chris Paul (thumb) out possibly two months. Fantasy managers should jump on the waiver wire and see if Payne is available. Shamet hasn't played since January 31, but should see a boost in playing time as well. The loss of Paul should mean more playing time for Shamet with the second unit. Payne is the better fantasy option between the two, but Shamet is worth monitoring with Paul sidelined.
