G Ramon Sessions and C Marcin Gortat scored 15 points eachj for the Wizards (3-4) Tuesday. Washington avoided its recent rash of turnovers, yet lost its third straight game while allowing its most points this season.

Sessions contributed eight points (2-7 FG, 4-5 FT), four assists, three rebounds, and a steal over 22 minutes in Friday's 115-104 loss to the Knicks.

Sessions received the bulk of the action off the bench as the backup point guard to John Wall, with teammate Gary Neal close behind with 19 minutes of action. Although he did not come close to matching the double-double he posted Tuesday in a considerably high-paced matchup against the Sixers, Sessions established a generally solid track record with the Wizards in 2014-15 after the mid-season trade that brought him from the Kings. His past performance will earn him a legitimate opportunity to lay claim to the primary backup point guard role, but a quality veteran like Neal should serve as formidable competition throughout the preseason.

Sessions posted averages of 7.4 points (41% FG, 41% 3Pt, 81% FT), 2.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 0.6 steals in 20 minutes per game during 28 regular season games with the Wizards in 2014-15.

Sessions was acquired in a trade with the Kings before the deadline, and the 29-year-old point guard is on the books for $2.1 million in 2015-16. In 10 playoff games, he contributed 7.5 points (37% FG, 40% 3Pt, 68% FT), 2.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 0.4 steals, and 0.1 blocks in 22 minutes per game.

Sessions will move back to the bench Wednesday with John Wall (wrist) returning to the starting lineup, Chris Vivlamore of the AJC reports.

Sessions had started the last three games for the injured Wall, but will move back to the bench as the Wizards' star point guard has been activated and listed in the starting lineup. With Wall not expected to be on a minutes restriction, Sessions' value in daily formats will likely be minimal.

He'll slot in as Washington's backup point guard and should see a mild bump in value with an improved supporting cast.

Sessions started again for Darren Collisin (hip), but scored just two points (0-6 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-2 FT) in 30 minutes in the loss to the Bucks on Wednesday. He doled out six assists.

Sessions has started the last three games, but has put up spotty numbers. He has a combined five points in his last two games, but could be an assists-based add in deeper leagues.

Sessions made a second straight spot start in place of Darren Collison (hip) on Sunday. Sessions put up 10 points, seven rebounds, and six assists in 32 minutes against the Suns.

Sessions will have decent value for standard 12-team leagues, and managers desperate for assists in 10-team leagues should be able to stream Sessions for as long as Collison is out. There is even the possibility of upside with Sessions if he were to get traded to a better situation before the trade deadline.

For as long as Collison remains out, Sessions is a guy who will make a nice add in fantasy leagues, but once Collison returns, his value diminishes markedly. Collison's injury is not considered serious so he may not miss any more time, but if he does, streaming in Sessions makes sense.

Sessions will start for Darren Collison (hip) at Utah on Saturday, the Sacramento Bee reports.

Session is stepping in for Collison, who sustained a hip flexor during Thursday's game. Meanwhile, in three nods this season, Sessions has averaged 13.7 points (on 43 percent shooting), three assists, three rebounds, 1.3 three-pointers, and 0.7 steals in 34 minutes.

Sessions has been sidelined since Dec. 22 with a back injury. He is averaging 17 minutes per game this seasons, so 22 minutes in his first game back is a definitely a good sign. If starting pointguard Darren Collison gets injured, Sessions is worth a look.
