Thu Apr 17 201401:23Archie Goodwin busts out with 29 points
Archie Goodwin busted out for a career-high 29 points vs. the Kings on Wednesday, adding four boards, one assist, two steals and one 3-pointer on 11-of-13 from the field in 31 minutes.
He made a huge splash in Las Vegas Summer League, but he was extremely quiet until tonight. If not for Gerald Green making a strong case for Most Improved Player, we might have seen more of Goodwin. He's a plus defender and showed tonight that he can really get to the rim. His jumper needs work and he's unlikely to be a target in fantasy drafts next season.

Thu Feb 27 201401:28Archie Goodwin scores career-high 16 points
Archie Goodwin scored a career-high 16 points vs. the Jazz during a 109-86 loss to go with seven boards, one assist, two steals, one block and one 3-pointer in 27 minutes.
He shot 6-of-10 from the field and 3-of-7 from the line off the bench tonight. Goodwin has stepped it up lately after being sent down to the D-League earlier this month. His offense still has a long way to go, but he has a chance to be a solid on-ball defender in his career. He's not on the fantasy radar yet.

Sun Jan 26 201412:06Archie Goodwin torches D-League, rejoins Suns
Archie Goodwin will rejoin the Suns after averaging 29.5 points in two games for their D-League affiliate.
The D-League is known for a defense-optional mentality, and it's worth noting that Goodwin made just one mid-range jumper while the bulk of his scoring came on a parade of layups, dunks and free throws. He hasn't been able to earn consistent minutes even with Eric Bledsoe (knee) sidelined, and his fantasy outlook is poor as long as Phoenix is in the mix for a playoff spot.

Thu Jan 23 201417:18Suns assign Archie Goodwin to NBA D-League
The Suns assigned rookie G Archie Goodwin to the D-League on Thursday.
The 19-year-old is shooting just 38.3 percent from the season this season, including a combined 3-of-28 from beyond the arc, and he can use some extra time on the court with the Bakersfield Jam. Expect him to be recalled in the near future.

Wed Nov 20 201301:40Archie Goodwin breaks out with 16 points
Archie Goodwin came off the bench and hit 7-of-10 shots and a 3-pointer for a career-high 16 points, two rebounds, two assists and two steals on Tuesday.
Goodwin did all that damage in just 19 minutes of action and looked great in his short run. He had scored a total of just 13 points in his previous four games and got extra run tonight with Eric Bledsoe out with a shin injury. If Bledsoe is going to miss more time, Goodwin will be worth a deep-league look, but his run should be a short one, as he'll have trouble getting enough minutes when Bledsoe and Dragic are both healthy.

Sat Oct 26 201303:22Archie Goodwin becoming a sneaky deep pickup?
Archie Goodwin and Gerald Green could eventually be in line for more minutes with the trade rumors swirling around the Suns.
GM Ryan McDonough has been wheeling and dealing his way into the headlines and the Suns already have four first-round picks in the 2014 NBA Draft. To be clear, nothing is imminent whatsoever. This is just another reason to like Eric Bledsoe and we had him as a third-round pick even before this news. As for Goodwin, his offense was on display at summer league with remarkable explosion, but he hasn't clicked yet with the big boys while his defense has been above-average this month. One thing is clear, if McDonough's eye for talent can match his ability to acquire assets, Goodwin could be solid player.

Sun Oct 13 201316:59Archie Goodwin has a quiet game in start
Archie Goodwin got the start at shooting guard on Sunday and had six points and three boards in 20 minutes.
Coach Jeff Hornacek is tinkering with his lineup and thought it might be a good idea to see how Goodwin fared with the ones. He's 6'5", so he's an interesting guy for the Suns with their small starting backcourt of Goran Dragic and Eric Bledsoe.

Fri Oct 4 201312:23Dragic: Archie Goodwin is unstoppable
Goran Dragic said Archie Goodwin is "really unstoppable."
"He's only 19, so he's really young and he's got a lot of talent," Dragic said. "So far he's battling on defense and offense, and when he puts the ball on the floor, he's really unstoppable. I think he's going to have a nice future." Goodwin is expected to get time off the bench at point and shooting guard, so we'll be watching him closely this preseason after his stellar summer league.

Wed Oct 2 201323:46Suns working on Archie Goodwin's shot
Jeff Hornacek said the Suns are working with Archie Goodwin on his shot.
"You'd say it's not a great-looking shot, but it's a decent-looking shot," Hornacek said. "You'd say `if he straightens it out', but he seems to make a lot them. It's one of those things. What do you do? We're working on it." Hornacek was working with Goodwin in practice and clearly wants to see the rookie succeed. His shot is a little unorthodox, but we like him as a deep sleeper and he has our attention going into the preseason.

Tue Aug 13 201309:05Archie Goodwin impressing Jeff Hornaeck
Suns head coach Jeff Hornacek said that Archie Goodwin can "fly up and down the court."
"He can fly up and down the court," Hornacek said. "You can see his speed and his ability. [When] he catches that ball out near the three point line on a fast break on the wing, it's a one dribble and dunk." Goodwin is expected to play right away and he did himself a huge favor with a strong summer league last month. The Suns have no real reliable option behind Goran Dragic and Eric Bledsoe at the guard spots, so fantasy owners will want to keep an eye on the developments as a possible sixth man for the rebuilding Suns. He's someone to think about at the end of deep fantasy drafts for now.

Tue Jul 30 201309:05Suns expect rookie Goodwin to play this year
Jeff Hornacek told rookie guard Archie Goodwin that he will "play right away."
Goodwin's attacking mentality was impressive throughout Summer League and the rebuilding Suns won't be shy about developing him during the regular season. "[The Suns] said from the get-go that I was going to be a special player and be one of the better players out of this draft," said Goodwin. "I felt the same, and with my work ethic and the way I compete, I'm going to make that happen."

Wed Jul 17 201313:37Suns coach expects Goodwin to play as rookie
Suns coach Jeff Hornacek expects rookie guard Archie Goodwin to contribute this season.
Goodwin had 22 points and four rebounds in 26 minutes on Tuesday, while knocking down three 3-pointers and attempting 11 free throws. He's quick and athletic enough to carve out a backup role, especially if the Suns succeed in their attempts to trade Kendall Marshall.

Fri Jul 12 201316:17Suns sign No. 29 overall pick Archie Goodwin
Suns sign first-round pick Archie Goodwin.
The Suns traded for Goodwin after a series of draft-night maneuvers. He's expected to be more of a point guard in the NBA, but the Suns will likely bring him along slowly behind Goran Dragic and 2012 first-round pick Kendall Marshall.
