Papanikolaou (ankle) is not traveling with the Rockets' on their current road trip, meaning he should be out until at least Tuesday (Mar. 17), the Houston Chronicle reports.
Papanikolaou hasn't played since Feb. 21, and there's no real timetable for his return. Through four games played in February, he was averaging 12 minutes per game. If the Rockets are healthy at the forward spots when he returns, it'll probably be hard for him to get off the bench much at all.

Papanikolaou is dealing with a sprained ankle, and it's reported that his ailment isn't too serious. Still, it's kept him out for two weeks so far, and his next possible return date is March 6. Even when he returns, he'll be a limited fantasy option.

Papanikolaou (ankle) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Clippers, Mark Berman of Fox 26 in Houston reports.
Papanikolaou went down with a sprained ankle during warmups prior to Monday's game, and the fact that he's already been ruled out for Wednesday's contest indicates he may be dealing with a relatively severe sprain. He should be considered questionable to play Friday, while Josh Smith and Terrence Jones will absorb his minutes Wednesday. Papanikolaou has seen his role fluctuate throughout the season, and he played only six minutes combined in his last two games prior to the injury.
Mon Feb 23 201518:51Papanikolaou (ankle) will not play Monday against Timberwolves
Papanikolaou (ankle) will not play Monday against the Timberwolves, Mark Berman of Fox 26 in Houston reports.
Papanikolaou sprained his ankle during warmups and, as a result, will be held out of action. His playing time has diminished since the All-Star break, logging only six total minutes in the Rockets' last two games, as Josh Smith and Terrence Jones have accounted for most of the playing time at the forward spots off the bench.

Papanikolaou (knee) returned to the lineup Thursday against the Pelicans, scoring just four points (1-4 FG, 2-2 FT) and grabbing four rebounds in 23 minutes.
Papanikolaou missed five games with a sprained knee, but led the Rockets in bench minutes in a loss to the Pelicans. Barring another Dwight Howard injury, the Greek will continue to come off the bench. In 19 games this season, Papanikolaou is averaging 6.6 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists.
Thu Dec 18 201419:15Papanikolaou (knee) will play Thursday against Pelicans
Papanikolaou (knee) will play Thursday against the Pelicans.
Papanikolaou is in the current 10-to-15 day window in which he was initially expecting to return, and will indeed return Thursday. In 19 games this season, he is averaging 6.6 points, 4.3 boards and 3.0 assists in 26 minutes.
Wed Dec 17 201414:25Papanikolaou (knee) will not play Wednesday against Nuggets
Papanikolaou (knee) will not play Wednesday against the Nuggets, Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle reports.
The Rockets are technically listing Papanikolaou as "questionable," though the forward is not with the team in Denver, and he'll miss a fifth consecutive game. He's right in the middle of his original 10-to-15 day return timetable, so it seems quite possible he could return for one of Houston's next three contests, as the Rockets begin a three-game homestand Thursday against New Orleans. They then host Atlanta on Saturday and Portland on Monday.

Papanikolaou (knee) has been upgraded to questionable for Wednesday's game against Denver, Jenny Dial Creech of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Papanikolaou has missed four games with a knee sprain and was initially given a 10-to-15 day return timetable on Dec. 6. It appears he's on the short end of that estimate, though his status for Wednesday will be more clear following shootaround. If he's held out of action for a fifth straight game, his next opportunity to play will come Thursday versus New Orleans.

Papanikolaou (knee) said Saturday that he will likely be out 10 to 15 days, the Houston Chroncile's Jonathan Feigen reports.
The banged-up Rockets continue to get nothing but bad news on the injury front. With Papanikolaou, Terrence Jones and Dwight Howard all nursing various ailments, look for Donatas Motiejunas to continue to log big minutes (he had 35 on Saturday).
Sat Dec 6 201414:35Papanikolaou (knee) ruled out for Saturday's game
Papanikolaou (knee) has been ruled out for Saturday's game, the Houston Chronicle's Jonathan Feigen reports.
He sprained his knee in Friday's tilt and could miss a week to 10 days. Donatas Motiejunas is a fantastic play in daily leagues Saturday as Terrence Jones and Dwight Howard are also out with injuries.
Fri Dec 5 201423:28Papanikolaou sprained knee in Friday's game
Papanikolaou sprained his knee in Friday's game, the Houston Chronicle's Jenny Dial Creech reports.
The injury does not seem to be very serious, but it would be pretty surprising to see Papanikolaou play in Saturday's game. Consider him day-to-day for now.

Papanikolaou scored eight points (2-11 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT) with seven rebounds and two assists in 38 minutes Saturday.
This is the second straight game that Papanikolaou has logged over 30 minutes. He is benefiting from the absence of a couple of Rockets players including Terrance Jones. Since Jones is expected to still miss a significant amount of time, Papanikolaou should continue to see enough minutes to garner him fantasy value. While he is still an inconsistent player as his performance Saturday illustrates, he should continue to play enough minutes to be worth rostering, or even playing depending on the league settings.

Papanikolaou scored 19 points (6-10 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 3-3 FT), with six rebounds, two assists and one steal in 34 minutes during Wednesday's loss to the Lakers.
Papanikolaou had a strong night all-around, and is turning into an interesting fantasy option. If he's still out there on the waiver wire, he's likely worth in add in many formats, especially the deeper leagues.

Papanikolaou scored 14 points (4-8 FG, 4-4 3Pt, 2-3 FT), with four assists in 24 minutes during Wednesday's win over the Timberwolves.
While Papanikolaou was replaced in the starting lineup by Donatas Motiejunas on Wednesday, he still posted a solid stat line. The young small forward is picking up steam, and if he continues to get minutes could be worth picking up in many fantasy leagues.

Papanikolaou moved into the starting lineup in place of Donatas Motiejunas and scored two points (1-9 FG, 0-5 3Pt), grabbed 10 rebounds, had one assists and gathered three steals in 29 minutes Saturday.
Papanikolaou has been a nice source of peripheral stats such as rebounds and assists this season as a bench player, and if he were to get in the vicinity of 30 minutes a night regularly, would be under consideration for 12 team leagues. When Terrence Jones (leg) returns, his role will be reduced, but in the mean time, if you need some boards and dimes, the rookie from Greece may be someone who could help your team out.
Sat Nov 8 201419:48Papanikolaou will start at power forward Saturday
Papanikolaou will start at power forward Saturday, the Houston Chronicle reports.
Papanikolaou has performed well of late and will take over in place of the injured Terrence Jones (leg). Donatas Motiejunas had previously started in place of Jones at power forward until Saturday.

Papanikolaou scored eight points (3-10 FG, 2-8 3Pt) and added seven rebounds, five assists, and two blocks in 37 minutes off the bench against the Heat Tuesday.
With Terrance Jones (leg) out Donatas Motiejunas got the start, but it was Papanikolaou who dominated the minutes. Though his shooting was inefficient, at least part of that is a result of the shots that Papanikolaou was taking, as he went 1-2 when he was not attempting three pointers. Papanikolaou has played significantly more minutes than Motiejunas in four of five game, and it now seems safe to conclude that the former has passed the latter on the depth chart. Papanikolaou started generating buzz with his unusual name, but he is emerging as a prospect to watch, and perhaps to own.
