Randolph has not played a single second since he was signed to his first 10-day contract, so he's the definition of an insurance policy for Boston.

Shavlik Randolph is seeking his letter of clearance from China and hopes to sign in the NBA in the "coming days," according to Ben Golliver of Sports Illustrated.
Randolph was tearing it up in China, but no matter where he lands in the NBA, he's unlikely to be a major part of the team's rotation and will likely just be insurance at the end of the bench.

Shavlik Randolph is reportedly in "advanced negotiations" with a team in China.
