Fri Sep 13 201314:12Lamar Odom charged with DUI
TMZ reports that Lamar Odom was charged with one count of DUI.
This charge stems from an August 30th arrest in Los Angeles, where he failed several sobriety tests and refused to take a blood alcohol test. He will be arraigned on September 27th. The DUI charge doesn't come as a surprise, but it is just another reason to think that his professional basketball days are probably behind him.

People.com reports that although Lamar Odom checked into a drug and alcohol rehabilitation center on Wednesday, he checked himself out on Thursday.

Thu Sep 5 201314:43Contradicting report: Lamar Odom not in rehab
TMZ is disputing a recent report by People Magazine, saying that Lamar Odom is not, in fact, in a drug and alcohol rehab facility.
While TMZ is hardly the place we like getting our NBA news from, the fact remains that they're usually right about these kind of things. So while Wednesday's night's report that Odom was in rehab was encouraging news about his wellbeing, today's contradicting report puts us right back where we were. The bottom line is that Odom appears to be dealing with some kind of serious crisis, while his NBA career has likely come to an end.

Wed Sep 4 201320:56Report: Lamar Odom enters rehab facility
Lamar Odom has checked himself into an alcohol and drug rehab center, according to People Magazine.
Hopefully this is a sign that Odom's life is about to get turned back around in the right direction. This surely won't be the last non-basketball related update on Odom, but it's good to hear that he's finally getting some help after his recent DUI arrest and extremely serious rumors of heavy drug use.

Tue Sep 3 201322:28Report: Man claims Odom spent $50K on cocaine
Lamar Odom's alleged drug dealer told Radaronline.com that Odom spent $50,000 on cocaine over the last three years, and even smoked the drug before a game against the Knicks on Feb. 10.
The story was subsequently picked up and run by NESN on the heels of Odom's DUI arrest on Friday. He's hired Robert Shapiro to represent him, and while it's impossible to know if the newest allegations are true (especially considering the source), it's clear that Odom's NBA career is in jeopardy. "I know it for a fact because I sold him the stuff and saw him smoke it," the unnamed, alleged dealer said. "He spent about 16 grand." With the Lakers signing Shawne Williams and the Clippers picking up Antawn Jamison, we'd be very surprised to see Odom in an NBA jersey this season.

Shapiro was one of the attorneys in the O.J. Simpson trial and is also the co-founder of the website LegalZoom.com. He'll have his license suspended for one year and will have to attend alcohol education class.

Sat Aug 31 201309:22Odom to lose driver's license for one year
Lamar Odom will lose his driver's license for one year after being arrested for driving under the influence of "alcohol and/or drugs" on Friday.
Odom failed field sobriety tests but refused chemical tests at the police station. An unnamed NBA executive told the L.A. Times, "Lamar can't play anymore," and it seems doubtful that he'll earn a contract after a tumultuous offseason. The Clippers had shown interest in giving him a one-year deal at the league minimum, but they've since signed Antawn Jamison instead.

Lamar Odom was arrested for "driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs" early Friday morning, according to TMZ.

It's been a disastrous offseason for Odom with this news and additional reports of "hardcore" drug abuse.

Wed Aug 28 201315:40Update: Clips no longer interested in Odom
The Clippers are no longer interested in re-signing Lamar Odom, according to the L.A. Daily News.
L.A. signed Antawn Jamison, giving them 14 guaranteed contracts, and they appear to have been scared away from Odom due to recent allegations of drug abuse. Odom was rumored to be missing last week, but ESPN reported on Monday that he was "in a Los Angeles hotel, where friends are trying to get him help for an unspecified drug problem."

Lamar Odom's whereabouts are known by his family and that he still has aspirations to return to the NBA, according to his agent, Jeff Schwartz.

Sun Aug 25 201319:54Update: Lamar Odom missing for past 72 hours
Lamar Odom has reportedly been missing for 72 hours, and sources close to the situation fear that he's abusing crack cocaine.
A representative of Odom's told TMZ.com that Odom is "fine" but wouldn't reveal his whereabouts. He has been battling "hardcore" drug addiction for two years, according to reports, but he rejected an intervention on Wednesday and may have retreated to indulge in his vices. At this point, concern for his well-being is the sole consideration.

Sun Aug 25 201309:21Report: Lamar Odom using crack cocaine
According to TMZ.com, Lamar Odom's alleged drug use includes abuse of crack cocaine.
The website reports that Odom attended rehab for three weeks last summer and stayed clean during the NBA season. But when the season ended he relapsed into crack use, refused an intervention, and was thrown out of his house by his wife, Khloe Kardashian. It's a scary situation, if true, and Odom's health and well-being have quickly overshadowed the continuation of his NBA career.

Sat Aug 24 201310:25Report: Lamar Odom using 'hardcore' drugs?
The celebrity-gossip website TMZ.com claims that Lamar Odom has been using "hardcore recreational drugs" for most of the past two years.
We're viewing this report with skepticism until it's confirmed by more reputable sources, but it does include numerous supporting details. Odom reportedly went to rehab last August and was drug-free during the NBA season, but relapsed this summer and was thrown out of his house by Khloe Kardashian after a "failed intervention" on Wednesday. The Clippers were reportedly waiting for Odom to agree on a one-year, $1.4 million contract and it's unclear whether these latest reports will have any bearing on the negotations.

Thu Aug 15 201321:45Clips preparing to offer deal to Lamar Odom
The Clippers are waiting for an answer from Lamar Odom on a contract agreement.
The team is reportedly ready to offer him $1.4 million and just need Odom to agree to the terms. Doc Rivers is believed to be interested in bringing Odom on because he's a great teammate. If Odom decides to pass -- and that seems doubtful -- Antawn Jamison appears to be the backup choice.

Sat Aug 3 201309:07Report: Lamar Odom prefers to remain in L.A.
Lamar Odom's preference is to remain in Los Angeles, according to Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
We should all remember how Odom reacted mentally to playing outside of L.A. during his brief tenure in Dallas, so a desire to remain in southern California shouldn't come as much of a surprise. That said, it's unclear if Odom has the desire to play basketball. Odom was reportedly coming around to signing with the Lakers, but they're reportedly "not sold" on what he has left. Winderman believes the Heat would have interest if Odom was willing to play for the veteran's minimum. Stay tuned.

Fri Jul 26 201316:15Report: Lakers not sold on Lamar Odom
The Lakers are reportedly "not sold" on what free agent Lamar Odom can give them.
Beat writer Kevin Ding is hearing that Odom might be coming around to joining the team that scorned him following the 2010-11 season. But a deal is "unlikely" because the Lakers apparently don't think he has anything left. Odom, now 33, has looked lost on the court for the last two seasons while playing for the Mavericks and then Clippers. It's fair for the Lakers to question if his heart is still in it.

Tue Jul 23 201315:34Lamar Odom a potential starter for LAK?
The Los Angeles Times says free agent Lamar Odom could end up as the Lakers' starting power forward.
Of course, Odom would have to be willing to sign a minimum contract with the cap-strapped Lakers. It's unclear if he's open to that. Perhaps he could be swayed by a chance to start next to Pau Gasol, a role he excelled in during the 2010-11 season. That year, Odom averaged 14.4 points, 8.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists.

Tue Jul 9 201320:34Clippers renounce rights to Odom, Billups
The Clippers renounced their exclusive rights to Lamar Odom and Chauncey Billups.
Both moves were financially motivated and allow the Clippers to officially process the J.J. Redick and Jared Dudley moves. Sources tell beat writer Brad Turner the Clippers would still like to re-sign Odom, who was also contacted by the Lakers recently. Billups, on the other hand, appears done in L.A., although he has reportedly been courted by the Knicks and Cavs.

Sat Jul 6 201317:33Report: Lakers reach out to Lamar Odom
The Lakers have reached out to unrestricted free agent Lamar Odom.
He played seven years with the Lakers and won two titles with the team. Odom will turn 34 in the first month of the season and after playing just 19.7 minutes per game with the Clippers last year, it'll be tough on teams to count on him for more than 20 minutes each night on a consistent basis.
