Tue Feb 22 201119:55Dampier to start on Tuesday against Kings
Erick Dampier will start on Tuesday against the Kings.
It's possible he takes the center job and does something with it, but we're not counting on it. It's more likely that he continues to platoon with Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Joel Anthony, with very little fantasy value to speak of.

Wed Feb 16 201122:30Dampier could be heading toward starting gig
Erick Dampier came off the bench and had eight points and 10 rebounds in Wednesday's win over the Raptors.
Starter Zydrunas Ilgauskas had six points and zero rebounds in 12 minutes, and it's quite possible that the Heat could come out of the break with Dampier as their starter. If it happens, he'll qualify as a low-end fantasy center.
Wed Feb 2 201115:54Dampier seeing limited time for Heat
Erick Dampier has appeared in just 10 of Miami's last 19 games.
He's simply not a significant part of the Heat's rotation, and it appears that it's going to take an injury for him to make any sort of statistical impact this year.

Wed Dec 22 201016:15Dampier playing limited minutes for Heat
Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said on Wednesday that Erick Dampier didn't play in Monday's game due to matchups.
Prior to sitting out Monday, Dampier had played just 20 minutes total in Miami's three previous games. He could surface with value as a rebounds/blocks specialist at some point, but it doesn't appear to be happening any time soon.

Tue Dec 7 201000:54Dampier gets 24 minutes of run on Monday
Erick Dampier got 24 minutes of playing time on Monday, scoring two points on 1-of-2 shooting with five rebounds, no assists, and one block.
He's hardly doing anything to deserve fantasy attention and his minutes came as the result of the Heat needing his girth to defend Andrew Bogut, but they're minutes nonetheless. If he can keep getting 20 minutes per game, he may have value in deeper leagues where centers are hard to come by.
Mon Nov 29 201023:11Dampier plays 12 active minutes vs. WAS
Erick Dampier played 12 active minutes against the Wizards on Monday, scoring three points on 1-of-1 shooting with five rebounds and a block.
He looked spry enough in his time on the court, but we'll still have to see if he can do it for 20 minutes before we're adding him in deep leagues.
Sun Nov 28 201001:33Dampier makes his Heat debut vs. Mavs
Erick Dampier made his Heat debut against his old Mavs teammates on Saturday, and played eight minutes on his way to no points, one rebound, and no blocks.
If you're in desperate need of blocks and boards, keep an eye on him, but you probably shouldn't grab him until he proves he can handle 20 minutes of run.
Tue Nov 23 201015:12Dampier officially signed by Heat on Tuesday
The Heat have officially announced the signing of center Erick Dampier.
Dampier specializes in two things the Heat desperately need -- rebounding and interior defense. His conditioning is a concern but should slowly improve throughout the season, and he's worth watching if you're in need of marginal fantasy production at center.
Mon Nov 22 201022:25Dampier to sign with Heat on Tuesday
Free agent center Erick Dampier will sign with the Heat on Tuesday.
They got embarrassed at home by the Pacers tonight and that likely ended any discussion on the matter, if there was any. His conditioning will be the only thing to keep him from logging 20 minutes a night, and if you need a center you should give him a look.

Mon Nov 22 201019:41Dampier close to signing with Heat
The Heat are apparently read to sign free agent center Erick Dampier, with the main holdup being the decision on who to release to make room for him.
Owners may as well assume he is going to sign there given how likely it is, and if you need a center he could worth a look. 20 minutes per game looks like a given for him, and with that time he could rack up enough boards and blocks to be useful.
Mon Nov 22 201017:25Report: Dampier could finally land with Heat
Erick Dampier is being targeted by the Heat, who just lost Udonis Haslem for most of the season, and could sign with the team this week.
Dampier would probably become the starter at center in Miami and while he won't score much, could be a nice source of boards and blocks. Give him a look if you need a center, as it sounds like this deal is likely to happen.

Mon Nov 22 201003:22Heat could take another look at Dampier
Udonis Haslem's injury could force the Heat to take another look at FA center Erick Dampier.
Dampier is reportedly very interested in joining the Heat, but to this point Pat Riley has been lukewarm to the idea of adding him. Damp proved last year that he can still be an effective rebounder and defender, and he's had plenty of time to rest and get healthy, so don't rule out a move to Miami.

Tue Nov 16 201020:58Lakers may be interested in Dampier
The Lakers may be interested in signing center Erick Dampier.
The workload for Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom has grown to be too much, and the fact that Theo Ratliff underwent knee surgery on Tuesday may have been the straw the broke the camel's back. His ceiling is at about 20 minutes per game if he does sign, making him a desperation option in a best-case scenario.

Fri Nov 12 201009:40Raptors talk to Dampier, may sign him yet
The Raptors have talked with free agent Erick Dampier and there is still a chance they'll sign him.
In spite of Dampier's talks with Toronto, it seems doubtful that he will sign with the Raptors, who have the worst record in the East at 1-7.

Thu Nov 11 201018:58Heat reportedly looking at Dampier again
Now that his deal with the Rockets isn't happening, the Heat are reportedly considering signing Erick Dampier yet again.
Dampier could have some value as a rebounder/shot-blocker if he lands in Miami, but as of now he should remain on waivers in most leagues.

Sun Nov 7 201023:25Rockets will not sign Dampier
The Rockets will not sign free-agent center Erick Dampier as originally planned.
With the Rockets off to a poor start this season, signing Dampier makes less sense now than it did 10 days ago. This means that Jermaine Taylor's roster spot is secure, for now.

Fri Oct 29 201016:08Dampier agrees to one-year deal w/ Rockets
The Rockets and center Erick Dampier have reportedly agreed on a one-year contract worth about $2 million.
This was all but confirmed on Thursday and concludes a prolonged period of free agency by Dampier, who was courted by multiple teams looking to deepen their frontcourt. Damp will join Yao Ming, Brad Miller, and Chuck Hayes in a fantasy-killing center platoon.

Fri Oct 29 201002:42No confirmation on Dampier signing yet
Sam Amick of Fanhouse tweeted late Thursday that sources of his close to the situation tell him that no verbal agreement has been reached between Erick Dampier and the Rockets.
Hoopsworld released a report saying it was a done deal, and it still could be, as Amick also said that Dampier was leaning toward the Rockets. The discrepancy in reports means that things could always spin sideways, but unless you're in a massive league you shouldn't care too much.

Fri Oct 29 201000:52Report: Dampier heading to the Rockets
Free agent center Erick Dampier will apparently sign with the Rockets.
Assuming the report from Hoopsworld holds water, and we think it does, he will join a rag-tag fantasy crew of Yao Ming and his 24 minutes of fury and the aging, oft-injured Brad Miller. He will take a while to get up to game speed, and should probably be ignored in fantasy leagues until one of the aforementioned guys gets hurt.

Fri Oct 29 201000:17Dampier may be heading to the Rockets
Alex Kennedy of Hoopsworld tweeted on Thursday that Erick Dampier may finally have a deal in place with the Rockets.
He then adds that the Rockets may be the front-runner for his services, indicating that a deal is not yet in place, so this is far from a concrete report. But with Yao Ming on a 24-minute limit and Brad Miller mysteriously playing just three minutes on Wednesday, the destination does make sense.
