Mon Feb 4 201319:38Earl Watson (right leg) will not play Monday
Earl Watson (right leg) will not play against the Kings on Monday.
Watson has a non-displaced fracture in his right leg and he's going to be out for quite some time. He was playing about 22 minutes per game before going down and guys like Alec Burks and Jamaal Tinsley will pick up some more playing time. Neither players have been turning heads, though.

Sun Feb 3 201317:22Earl Watson (leg) doubtful to play vs. Kings
Earl Watson (right leg) is not expected to play on Monday.
No surprise here, as Watson was just diagnosed with a bone bruise and small fracture in the tibia of his right leg. Randy Foye, Jamaal Tinsley and Alec Burks will all take on more minutes until Watson resumes his role off the bench.

Sat Feb 2 201320:02MRI shows small fracture in Earl Watson's leg
An MRI on Earl Watson's right leg revealed a bone bruise and a non-displaced fracture in his tibia.
Watson can ramp up his activity according to his comfort level, but realistically he's out indefinitely (Steve Nash missed about a month after a similar injury earlier this season). Watson's absence leaves Jamaal Tinsley on an island at PG for the Jazz.

Sat Feb 2 201317:06Earl Watson (leg) out for Saturday
Earl Watson (leg) did not rejoin the team for Saturday's game and he will not play against the Blazers.
He had an MRI on his leg, but those results have yet to be released. Jamaal Tinsley and Alec Burks should pick up most of the point guard duties with Watson out. Tinsley had a rough night on Friday, so the Jazz might be more inclined to give Burks more opportunity.

Sat Feb 2 201300:19Earl Watson will not travel with team
Earl Watson (leg) will not travel with the team and is scheduled to have an MRI on Saturday.
He still could join the team in time for Saturday night's game against the Blazers, but it's appearing doubtful at this point. Jamaal Tinsley and Alec Burks are likely to split the point guard duties.

Fri Feb 1 201323:11Earl Watson out for game with leg injury
Earl Watson will not return to Friday's game due to a right lower leg injury.
He went to the locker room on two separate occassions and was ruled out pretty quickly following his second trip. Jamaal Tinsley and Alec Burks will pick up some extra minutes. Tinsley's upside isn't high, but Burks is worth keeping an eye on in deeper formats.

Sat Jan 12 201322:19Earl Watson steps up for Tinsley (illness)
Earl Watson started the second half of Saturday's game and finished with two points, three rebounds, six assists and one steal in 26 minutes.
Jamaal Tinsley's illness prompted the change and there are no lasting implications for fantasy owners.

Wed Dec 5 201209:06Earl Watson and Tinsley sharing backup PG job
Earl Watson and Jamaal Tinsley will split backup point guard duties behind Mo Williams.
They both deserve to play," Tyrone Corbin said. "Jamaal's done a tremendous job for us. Earl's working his way back in. There's not going to be a lot of minutes there now that Mo's back up to speed." As long as Williams is healthy, neither Tinsley or Watson are fantasy options.

Mon Nov 26 201209:15Earl Watson (knee) feeling good after debut
Earl Watson said that he's "feeling more and more comfortable" on the court following his return from knee surgery and that his knee is "not an issue."
Watson had no points, two boards and two assists in his season debut, but the good news is that he's having no trouble with his surgically-repaired knee. He's not wearing a protective brace or sleeve on the area, but Tyrone Corbin isn't ready to unleash Watson fully. "I have to talk to the doctors to see where we are," he said.

Sat Nov 24 201201:23Watson makes debut, plays 10 minutes
Earl Watson made his season debut on Friday and had no points, two rebounds and two assists in the 104-102 win over the Kings.
Watson may be needed for Utah with Mo Williams dealing with an ankle injury. He's still only an asset in very deep leagues even in the event Mo needs to miss time.

Fri Nov 23 201212:52Earl Watson to make debut on Friday night
Earl Watson (knee surgery) will make his season debut on Friday.
Watson hasn't played since undergoing surgery in April, and it will be nice to see him back on the court. We'd expect him to be worked in slowly as Jamaal Tinsley has played well in a backup role, averaging 5.3 assists.

Wed Nov 21 201212:00Earl Watson could make season debut Friday
Earl Watson (knee surgery), who has yet to play this season, could make his debut on Friday against the Kings.
Tyrone Corbin said that it would depend on how Watson looks in practice over the next couple of days, but Watson is clearly getting close to a return. We've listed him as day-to-day and he'll serve in a backup PG role when he does return.

Wed Nov 14 201211:21Earl Watson cleared to resume on-court work
Earl Watson (knee) has rejoined the Jazz and been cleared to resume on-court activity.
Watson is one step closer to getting back into game action after offseason surgery. Still, he has little fantasy value unless Mo Williams were to get hurt again.

Mon Nov 12 201212:24Earl Watson getting knee tested in California
Earl Watson (knee) is not with the Jazz and is instead having his surgically repaired knee evaluated in Southern California.
Watson appears to be closing in on a return and will be a primary backup to Mo Williams when healthy. Ironically, his only real fantasy value would come if Williams were to get hurt and Williams appears on the mend from a strained adductor.

Wed Nov 7 201213:19Earl Watson building endurance in knee
Earl Watson is building endurance and strength in his surgically-repaired knee.
So far, so good for Watson, who seems like he's almost ready to return from surgery. When he does return, Watson will backup Mo Williams and will only sniff relevancy to owners if Williams goes down.

Tue Nov 6 201203:12Watson (knee) does not play on Monday
Earl Watson (knee) did not play on Monday against the Grizzlies.
Watson returned to on-court workouts on Saturday, but it's unclear what role he'll have upon return. Current backup PG Jamaal Tinsley was a DNP-CD with Randy Foye playing the role of swing backup guard.

Sat Oct 13 201223:53Earl Watson (knee) resumes running, cutting
Earl Watson (knee) returned to on-court workouts on Saturday.
Watson is recovering from medial meniscus surgery performed back in April, and this was the first time he's run or cut since the surgery. It's unclear when he'll resume playing 5-on-5, and his status for opening night remains uncertain.

Fri Oct 12 201209:51Watson 'slowly' increasing on-court activity
Earl Watson (knee surgery) is "slowly" ramping up his on-court activity.
Watson continues to rehab from knee surgery, and it's not a lock that he'll be able to play on opening night. If he's still sidelined once the regular season rolls around, Jamaal Tinsley will serve as Utah's primary backup PG behind Mo Williams.

Mon Oct 1 201216:06Earl Watson (knee) iffy for opening night
Earl Watson (knee) is not sure whether he'll be ready to play in Utah's season opener.
Watson declared himself "100 percent" in the same conversation, another reminder not to rely on the generic patter that comes out of Media Day. Mo Williams is the starting PG for the Jazz, and Watson will be fighting Jamaal Tinsley for reserve minutes.
