Tue Dec 27 201107:56Mike Bibby to play in Tuesday game for Knicks
Mike Bibby is expected to play on Tuesday.
Bibby has been sidelined with back spasms. Mike D'Antoni said Bibby could have played over the weekend, but sought to give the veteran enough time to heal. The point guard said his back should be at 100 percent by the middle of the week. He's not useful to owners outside of extraordinarily deep leagues.

Sun Dec 25 201111:02Mike Bibby (back) unlikely to play Sunday
Mike Bibby (back) isn't expected to play on Sunday, making Iman Shumpert the Knicks' backup PG.
Bibby will be in uniform, just in case, but we expect to get a good long look at Shumpert, who is a natural SG and is an intriguing sleeper in deep fantasy leagues. Consider Bibby day-to-day.

Sat Dec 24 201112:49Mike Bibby (back) iffy for Sunday's game
Mike Bibby (back spasms) was limited during practice on Saturday, and his status for Sunday's game is uncertain.
Bibby could have some value as a 3-point specialist until Baron Davis returns to action, but there are plenty of more appealing fantasy options.

Sat Dec 10 201122:06Bibby signs one-year deal with Knicks
PG Mike Bibby agreed to a one-year deal with the Knicks at the veteran's minimum of $1.4 million on Saturday.
We're hearing the deal is agreed upon in principle but will be signed on Sunday. Either way, it's official, and as we've mentioned we do not view him as a threat to projected starter Toney Douglas' minutes. Bibby is projected to play 20 minutes or less off the bench and isn't draftworthy in the large majority of leagues.

Sat Dec 10 201117:23Mike Bibby expected to sign w/ Knicks on Sun.
Mike Bibby is expected to sign a one-year minimum deal with the Knicks on Sunday.
Knicks fans have responded to this news with near-universal disdain. Bibby's usefulness at this point in his career is limited to shooting spot-up 3-pointers and watching opponents blow by him on the perimeter. He's slated to backup starter Toney Douglas.

Fri Dec 9 201121:00Knicks in negotiations with Mike Bibby?
Alex Kennedy of Hoopsworld reported Friday that free agent PG Mike Bibby is in "serious negotiations" with the Knicks.
This shouldn't rain on Toney Douglas' parade all that much, as Bibby's best days are behind him and Douglas is easily the better player. It would be smart, however, on the Knicks side to sign Bibby and have him mentor Douglas. We'll see.

Tue Jun 14 201110:00Free agent Mike Bibby says he will not retire
Impending free agent Mike Bibby says he has no plans to retire.
Bibby, 33, gave up $6.4 million in a buyout this season so he could join the Heat. Then he found himself benched in Game 6 of the Finals and was arguably the most ineffective player in the NBA during much of the playoffs. The only team that may want him back is the Heat, as his 3-point stroke is still viable in their scheme. Bibby would have to accept the veteran minimum and likely a backup role.

Fri May 13 201118:12Heat will start w/ Bibby defending MVP Rose
Mike Bibby will begin the Eastern Conference semifinals by defending league MVP Derrick Rose, according to LeBron James.
Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said that he's keeping his options open -- Miami will obviously throw everything they have at Rose defensively, and Bibby is too slow-footed to stay on him for long. After being eliminated by the Bulls, Hawks star Joe Johnson said, "Rose puts so much pressure on the defense, so you almost have to stop him and let everyone else have the ball."

Wed Apr 27 201108:58Heat aren't changing starting unit just yet
The Heat will stick with struggling Mike Bibby in their starting five for Wednesday's Game 5 against the Sixers.

Mon Apr 25 201109:38Mike Bibby continues to struggle for Miami
Mike Bibby is just 4-of-19 from beyond the arc in the first round of the playoffs.
He's shooting just 6-of-27 overall, and he hasn't quite lived up to the expectations that the team held for him when they brought him into town. Coach Erik Spoelstra hasn't given up on him, but it shouldn't surprise anyone to see LeBron James and Dwyane Wade do the majority of the ball-handling as the postseason rolls forward.

Sun Apr 24 201116:12Bibby, Ilgauskas struggle as starters
Mike Bibby and Zydrunas Ilgauskas, two-fifths of Miami's starters, combined to score one point on 0-of-9 shooting in Sunday's game, with zero assists, steals, or blocks.
Their +/- was -33 in a combined 24 minutes of action in a four-point loss. It just doesn't seem like a good matchup for the slow-footed veterans, as Philly's game is based on speed and versatility.

Thu Apr 21 201122:49PGs Bibby, Chalmers invisible for Heat
Starting point guard Mike Bibby hit just 1-of-5 shots for three points and zero assists, while back up Mario Chalmers failed to score and had three assists in another win for the Heat.
The two combined to play 44 minutes at point guard tonight, but the Heat obviously have no use for one. The Heat may go out and try to find a better option at running the point for next season, but with LeBron and Wade around, it's probably not going to make a difference, regardless of who they bring in.

Wed Apr 13 201118:29Mike Bibby to start for Heat on Wednesday
Mike Bibby is a surprise starter for the Heat on Wednesday.
The regulars have been benched tonight, outside of Bibby. He'll start alongside Eddie House, James Jones, Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Joel Anthony. LeBron, D-Wade, Bosh and Mike Miller are out, and we're guessing Bibby is only playing because of such limited options at point guard.

Tue Apr 12 201118:34Mike Bibby appears unlikely to play Wednesday
Beat writer Ira Winderman doesn't believe Mike Bibby appears likely to play on Wednesday, as Miami is widely expected to rest their starters in the regular season finale.
This report leads us to assume that Bibby won't play, which would make him useless to fantasy owners. If Bibby does see the court, it will likely be in a very limited capacity and can safely be cut loose.

Sun Apr 10 201119:17Bibby gets green light in win over Celtics
Mike Bibby only scored six points in Sunday's win over the Celtics but was given a green light to shoot, attempting ten shots in the game.
He broke the 30 minute barrier in Sunday's game and while his stat line was rather weak (six points, two 3-pointers, three rebounds, five assists and two steals). His shot percentage should go up though we still don't expect much from him going forward. What's important is that this may signal that Bibby might be establishing himself as the primary player at the point.

Wed Apr 6 201111:20Bibby sticking as starter ahead of Chalmers?
Coach Erik Spoelstra said that he's still evaluating his point guard situation.
Beat writer Shandel Richardson notes that Spoelstra "seems like he's comfortable" with Mike Bibby as his starter. Spo is likely to stick with the veteran, but the minutes will be shared evenly with Mario Chalmers. Neither are viable fantasy plays.
