Fri Feb 21 201400:14Newly-acquired Earl Clark waived by 76ers
Sixers waive F/C Earl Clark.
The team had to cut someone after making their moves today and they chose to keep their young guy of players. Clark was not a good fit the Sixers with his jumper falling apart lately and not being able to integrate himself in the two-man game. He can be cut in all leagues.

Thu Feb 20 201416:41Earl Clark a bit of a mystery on new team
Earl Clark is expected to see more minutes with the Sixers following Thursday's deadline.
He basically split his 15.5 minutes per game at both forward spots with the Cavs and should at least get in the 20s with his new team. There is really no bigger wild card than Clark for Philly's system, but not being adept as a roll man and his struggles shooting the rock won't help. He's gone completely cold from downtown in 2014, making just 14.7 percent from that range as part of his overall 32.1 percent from the field in that span. Still, he's an athletic enough power forward to get run in the up-tempo offense and can actually defend small forwards, unlike most of his teammates. He's worth a look in some formats as a decent upside pickup.

Thu Feb 20 201410:59Report: Earl Clark also heading to Philly
Cavs Forward Earl Clark will reportedly be included in the Spencer Hawes deal, according to David Aldridge.
Clark would back up Thaddeus Young, unless Young gets traded. And if that happens, it's even possible Clark could start at power forward in Philly. Clark isn't likely to be a strong fantasy option, even if starting. There's also a possibility the Sixers could still be working on sending some of their second-round picks to Houston for Omer Asik.

Tue Jan 7 201423:00Earl Clark plays 11 minutes Tuesday
Earl Clark likely made his final start at small forward for the Cavaliers on Tuesday and played just 11 minutes, finishing with two points on 1-of-6 shooting.
Luol Deng should be in uniform for their next game which will send Clark directly to the bench without passing Go, or collecting $200. Which means he can be dropped in most leagues in which he was being held.

Tue Dec 31 201317:35Earl Carlk plays 34 minutes in start at SF
Earl Clark started at SF and played over 34 minutes in Tuesday's loss, which he finished with seven points on 2-of-11 shooting, one 3-pointer, four rebounds and one block.
Clark has at least one block in five straight games, and his 3-point range gives him some upside, but thus far he hasn't played consistently enough to start for fantasy owners.

Fri Dec 27 201300:01Earl Clark doesn't do anything in start
Earl Clark started at small forward against the Hawks on Thursday and had three points, five boards, one assist, one block and one 3-pointer in 18 minutes.
It's nice to be a starter for some players, but tonight serves as yet another example that it doesn't mean everything. Clark is having a decent year shooting from deep, but he has a long way to go before he's on the radar in standard or even 16-team leagues.

Thu Dec 26 201318:55Earl Clark starting over Alonzo Gee vs. ATL
Earl Clark will replace Alonzo Gee as the Cavaliers' starting SF on Thursday.
Clark is averaging just 4.0 points in the past two games, which isn't much better than his season-average 6.1 points on 41.5 percent shooting. The SF spot has been a fantasy dead-zone all year and it's unlikely to change with Clark ahead of Gee.

Sat Dec 21 201300:34Earl Clark scores 14 points off the bench
Earl Clark scored 14 points off the bench for the Cavs on Friday with 14 points, three assists, one steal and four 3-pointers in 19 minutes.
His minutes doubled from the nine he played on Tuesday and it probably had a lot to do with Dion Waiters not playing tonight. Clark leads the team in 3-point percentage, but it's hard to pick him up based on Waiters only being day-to-day with his wrist injury.

Sat Nov 30 201318:21Earl Clark (illness) inactive for Saturday
Earl Clark (illness) is on the Cavs' inactive list for Saturday's game.
Clark began the year as the Cavaliers' starting SF but he's steadily fallen out of the lineup and coach Mike Brown's good graces. He shouldn't be in any active lineups anyway, and fantasy owners can consider him day-to-day.

Fri Nov 15 201319:50Clark to replace Alonzo Gee as starter
Earl Clark will replace Alonzo Gee in the starting lineup at small forward on Friday against the Bobcats.
Neither play has done much of anything at all so owners can safely watch this action from the waiver wire until somebody makes some noise.

Mon Nov 4 201323:39Clark scores six points in 11 minutes
Earl Clark scored six points in 11 minutes on Friday, and managed just two steals and one assist to round out a disappointing night.
Clark's move to small forward has been an abject failure and he belongs on waivers in most formats.

Tue Oct 29 201314:46Mike Brown 'leaning toward' Earl Clark at SF
Cavs coach Mike Brown has yet to decide who will start at SF on opening night, but he's "leaning toward" Earl Clark.
Alonzo Gee is the guy most likely to usurp the SF job from Clark, but C.J. Miles is also in the mix. Clark is a career 41.4 percent FG shooter, and 67.6 percent at the FT line, and the raging position battle at SF means he's better left on the waiver wire.

Fri Oct 25 201311:17Earl Clark in three-way race to start
Earl Clark hit 5-of-7 shots and scored 12 points in Thursday's preseason finale.
Alonzo Gee rested and C.J.Miles sat out with a calf injury, and Mike Brown still doesn't sound like he knows which of them is his starting small forward. "Nobody's really separated themselves drastically from the other guy," Brown said. "I told those guys it can go into the regular season, just keep yourselves ready to go in case your number is called." It looks like a three-way timeshare is coming, making it tough for us to get behind any of them right now.

Wed Oct 23 201322:36Earl Clark quiet again for Cavaliers
Earl Clark started at small forward again for the Cavs on Wednesday but had just eight points, three rebounds, two assists and a steal on 4-of-11 shooting in 26 minutes.
He finished the preseason hitting just 16-of-46 shots (34.8 percent) and never scored more than 10 points in a game. It looks like he'll start the season at small forward, but he'll have to play much better than this to hang onto the job.

Mon Oct 21 201317:58Earl Clark will not play against the Sixers
Earl Clark will rest against the Sixers on Monday.
The Cavs still haven't figured out what they're going to do at small forward, so keeping Clark out could suggest he has a leg up on the competition. He's still not worth drafting in most leagues.

Sat Oct 12 201300:56Clark continues to struggle for the Cavs
Earl Clark continued to struggle with his shot in Friday's preseason win, hitting just 1-of-7 shots for four points, three rebounds and one steal in 22 minutes.
Luckily for Clark his competition in C.J. Miles (nine points, 3-of-8 FGs) and Alonzo Gee (DNP) are both known quantities and it's doubtful the Cavs are pushing for either of them to beat out their free agent acquisition. That said, Clark is a bit out of position at SF and he's not going to be given run of the yard -- he needs to start hitting shots or lose his shot at starter's minutes -- and he likely will.

Tue Oct 8 201318:05Earl Clark, C.J. Miles, Gee all in mix at SF
Earl Clark will start at SF for the Cavs on Tuesday, but C.J. Miles will take over at SF in the second half.
Mike Brown has proclaimed a position battle at SF. Miles is a more proficient offensive player, and Alonzo Gee (hamstring) is also in the mix, but Clark has been and remains the favorite to win the job.

Fri Oct 4 201317:06Brown says starting SF job up for grabs
Mike Brown said the starting small forward job is up for grabs on Friday.
Brown said that Earl Clark, Alonzo Gee and C.J. Miles are all in the mix, but that's what he is supposed to say at this time of the year. Clark was brought in on a two-year, $9 million deal and barring a faceplant in camp he is the favorite to lead that group in minutes.

Wed Jul 17 201310:02Cavs will deploy Earl Clark as SF this season
Mike Brown confirmed that he will use Earl Clark as a small forward this season.
"His natural position is probably [power forward]," said Brown. "I don't need him to create. We need him to defend, rebound and move that basketball. I want him to catch and shoot." Brown also believes that Clark can defend everyone from shooting guards to centers, which should guarantee him big minutes for a defense-first coach like Brown.
