Budinger scored two points with two rebounds in 14 minutes in Monday's loss to Oklahoma City. Budinger and Glenn Robinson III are likely to see an increase in playing time with Robbie Hummel out with a broken hand, head coach Flip Saunders told the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Don't get too excited as Budinger took just two shots in Monday's game. His increase in playing time isn't likely to last with Kevin Martin perhaps returning from a wrist injury this week.

Budinger ceded his starting spot to Robbie Hummel on Saturday, playing 14 minutes off the pine, scoring six points (2-4 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-1 FT).
Even when starting, Budinger wasn't doing enough to stoke the interest of fantasy owners and his recent demotion won't do anything to rekindle any optimism that may have existed. If you added him outside of the deepest leagues, it's time to drop him, especially with the upcoming return of Kevin Martin and Shabazz Muhammad.

Budinger made the start Saturday in place of Shabazz Muhammad (groin), scoring two points (1-6 FG, 0-1 3Pt) with five rebounds and one steal in 18 minutes.
With Muhammad not set to miss extended time, Budinger's run as a starter won't last too long and he will be relegated to a bench role sooner rather than later. In his previous two games, Budinger had averaged 9.5 points and 4.5 rebounds, so the two point outing was a disappointment, but Budinger doesn't move the dial in any league outside of the deepest formats.

Budinger will start against the Spurs on Saturday.
Budinger will be making his first start of the season as he'll take over for Shabazz Muhammad (abdomen). As a result of this change, Budinger will likely be in store for significant time on the court.

Budinger scored just nine points (4-10 FG, 1-4 3Pt) despite playing 28 minutes Friday in a loss to the Bucks.
In his previous 10 games Budinger averaged 20.9 minutes and he played more minutes Friday than Shabazz Muhammad, who had been one of the best scorers on the Timberwolves. However, Budinger hasn't scored more than 13 points since Dec. 21 and is averaging just 2.5 rebounds per game this year, so he's not worth using.

Budinger (illness) will be available off the bench Wednesday against the Suns, Paul Coro of AZCentral Sports reports.
Budinger had recently missed time due to illness, but should be available Wednesday in a limited capacity. Averaging 4.5 points and 2.4 rebounds on the year, the 26-year-old isn't much of a fantasy factor.

Budinger has missed the past two games with an illness, but appears to be on the fence for Wednesday's game. An update on his status should come before the 9:30 ET tipoff.

Budinger (illness) will not play Saturday against the Jazz.
The fifth-year forward has contributed little in his last two games, scoring two points with two rebounds and three assists in 24 minutes, so his absence shouldn't affect Minnesota all that much. That said, Anthony Bennett may be asked to play some minutes at the three in Budinger's place.

Budinger scored a season-high 19 points (8-12 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 0-1 FT) with four rebounds in 28 minutes in the loss to the Celtics on Friday.
Budinger took Corey Brewer's spot in the rotation and played more than nine minutes for the first time in seven games. This was only the third time he had scored in double digits this season. If he continues to get major minutes, he could be a fantasy add for points and 3-pointers.

Budinger did not score and was 0-for-4 from the field in 15 minutes in Wednesday's loss to Memphis.
Budinger did not have an impressive debut as he also missed his only three-point shot. His 15 minutes off the bench are encouraging, however, as it looks like he'll get decent minutes off the bench despite preseason trade rumors that seemed to indicate he'd be stuck on the bench.

Budinger scored 12 points and made both three-point shots he attempted in 21 minutes in Tuesday's preseason win over the Pacers. "It's like I've been saying all preseason during camp I feel great. I feel normal," Budinger told the Minneapolis Star Tribune. "It's a big joy, just a big joy, getting my legs back."
Knee and ankle ailments limited him to just 41 games last season, but so far this preseason it looks like he's healthy. However, it's not clear how large a role he'll have off the bench. It's also been reported Minnesota is trying to trade Budinger, but the team has denied those reports. If he shows he's healthy at the start of the regular season he could quickly find a larger role or be traded to a team needing a three-point shooter.

Minnesota is trying to trade Budinger with the Pistons and Rockets showing interest, Yahoo! Sports reports.
Minnesota has too many forwards and Budinger may have a small role off the bench, so it makes sense the Timberwolves would try to trade him. However, he'll need to show he's healthy this preseason after knee and ankle ailments limited him to just 41 games last season.
Mon Sep 29 201416:11Budinger says he feels healthy heading into training camp
Budinger says he feels healthy heading into training camp, Andy Greder of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. "Never thought I'd be eager for camp," Budinger said.
Knee issues prevented Budinger from participating in the last two training camps, but follwing another injury-riddled season, he's fully healthy as camp gets underway. The Arizona product played in only half of the team's games last season after playing in just 23 two seasons ago. If he can stay healthy, he'll compete for a significant role on the wing, as he's proven capable of scoring efficiently in the past (9.6 points, 40.2% 3Pt in 2011-12).
Fri Jul 4 201415:07Chase Budinger fully cleared for camp
Chase Budinger (knee, ankle) has been fully cleared for Monday's training camp with the Wolves.
It's a three-day session for Budinger, who missed the last six games of the season due to injury. Budinger had a knee issue earlier in the season and it kept his minutes down to a career-low 18.3 per game. If the Wolves do unload Kevin Love, Buds could be looking at some more shots from the perimeter.
