Wed Feb 4 201515:38Douglas signed 10-day deal with Pelicans on Wednesday
Douglas signed a 10-day deal with the Pelicans on Wednesday.
Douglas signed with a Chinese team in August but will return to the NBA after playing 35 CBA games, posting averages of 19.1 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists. A first-round pick in 2009, Douglas has spent time with the Knicks, Rockets, Kings, Warriors and Heat in his NBA career. The Florida State product, who assumes the role vacated by Nate Wolters, will be available for Wednesday's game against Oklahoma City.

Douglas will play in the Chinese Basketball Association this upcoming season, Sportando reports.
Douglas spent time last season with both the Warriors and Heat, but failed to cement a role in either team's rotation. With minimal interest during free agency this summer, Douglas will reportedly sign for either the Shanghai Sharks or Sichuan Blue Whales in China. Should he impress, it's possible Douglas could land on an NBA roster ahead of the playoffs, although that probably represents the best-case scenario for the declining reserve guard.
Mon Apr 14 201421:30Toney Douglas plays 35 minutes on Wednesday
Toney Douglas played 35 minutes in a start at shooting guard on Monday with 14 points, three boards, three assists, two steals and one 3-pointer.
The Heat have nothing to play for on Wednesday and Douglas could be looking at big minutes against a hapless Sixers defense. If you're feeling saucy, he's a decent player to use in the season finale, especially if Mario Chalmers also sits.

Sun Apr 6 201412:28Toney Douglas to start on Sunday vs. Knicks
Toney Douglas will replace Dwayne Wade (hamstring) in the starting lineup for Sunday's game vs. the Knicks.
Douglas' numbers as a starter aren't very impressive (6.0 points, 2.5 assists, and 3.8 rebounds) so you'd have to be in a fairly deep league to use him as a plug-and-play option. There are nine games this Sunday, so you can probably find a better option on the wire.

Sat Mar 29 201423:45Toney Douglas steps up vs. Bucks
Toney Douglas played 39 minutes during Saturday's easy 88-67 win over the Bucks with 13 points, nine boards, four assists, one steal and one 3-pointer.
This was a garbage-time special yet again and he's coming off a 9-5-5 line on Friday in a blowout vs. the Pistons. Mario Chalmers (quad) should be back soon, so there's little reason to pick Douglas up. The Raptors come to Miami on Monday and the Heat probably won't blow them out.

Fri Mar 28 201418:54Toney Douglas and James Jones to start
Toney Douglas and James Jones will start against the Pistons on Friday.
Coach Erik Spoelstra must want to keep his second unit together, and who can blame him? LeBron James is going to run the offense and there should be a lot of Chris Bosh vs. a vulnerable Pistons defense. Douglas is still a risky option.

Sat Mar 22 201418:48Toney Douglas starting vs. the Pelicans
Toney Douglas will start in place of Dwyane Wade (rest) on Saturday vs. the Pelicans.
He played 22 minutes on Tuesday night and scored nine points while Wade sat out against the Cavs. Those stats serve as fair expectations for tonight against a weak Pelicans defense. Douglas is not worth using in most cases.

Toney Douglas started in place of Dwyane Wade (rest) on Tuesday and had nine points, two rebounds, five assists and a 3-pointer on 3-of-7 shooting.

Tue Mar 18 201418:37Toney Douglas fills in at SG on Tuesday
Toney Douglas will start at SG in place of Dwyane Wade (rest) on Tuesday.
Douglas has started three games for Miami this season but his averages in those starts should convince fantasy owners to ignore him -- 5.3 points, 1.0 threes, 2.7 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 0.7 steals in 15 minutes per game.

Toney Douglas started for Dwyane Wade (rest) on Monday against the Bobcats, scoring 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting (including two threes) with two rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in 19 minutes.
If this circumstance pops up against owners in deep leagues may want to consider a spot-start, but that's about it.

Toney Douglas will start in place of Dwyane Wade on Monday.
He started the last time Dwyane Wade sat out, but only logged 11 minutes in that game against the Warriors. Fantasy owners should not be looking at Douglas as an option tonight.

Toney Douglas started in place of Dwyane Wade (migraine) on Tuesday, playing 15 minutes for five points, three boards, two assists, one block and one 3-pointer on 2-of-9 shooting.
Coach Erik Spoelstra said he wanted to bring Ray Allen off the bench, which is why Douglas found his way into the starting lineup. Obviously, there's no reason to pick up Douglas in almost any league.

Tue Feb 11 201420:23Toney Douglas starts against the Suns
Toney Douglas will start in place of Dwyane Wade on Tuesday.
Wade's migraines came up pretty quickly on him, but he reportedly wanted to play. Chances are Wade will play on Wednesday and there are 13 games on Wednesday, so it doesn't make sense to stream Douglas almost anywhere. Ray Allen figures to be a better start tonight.

Thu Jan 16 201416:24Toney Douglas may join Heat on road trip
Toney Douglas is flying to Miami to take a physical and may join the Heat during their current road trip.
Mario Chalmers (Achilles) is day-to-day and Douglas will be battling for backup minutes with the Heat, so standard-league owners can ignore him. Miami's road trip continues with games in Philly on Friday and Charlotte on Saturday, then concludes in Atlanta on Monday.

Wed Jan 15 201412:17Heat acquire PG Toney Douglas from GSW
The Heat acquired PG Toney Douglas as part of Wednesday's three-team trade.
With Mario Chalmers (Achilles) out the past few games, Miami has been forced to lean entirely on Norris Cole at PG and he played a whopping 52 minutes in Friday's double-overtime loss at Brooklyn. Chalmers expects to return soon but Miami still took the opportunity to shore up their backcourt with Douglas, a capable PG and physical defender who should earn a handful of minutes in a reserve role for the Heat.
