Tue Nov 6 201216:56Johan Petro (back) could play on Wednesday
Johan Petro (back) has resumed full-contact practice and could play as soon as Wednesday's game vs. the Pacers.
Petro provides extra depth behind Al Horford and Zaza Pachulia, but he's unlikely to make than the occasional cameo.

Sat Nov 3 201214:48Johan Petro will not travel on Sunday
Johan Petro (back) will not travel to face the Thunder on Sunday.
He has a sore back and didn't practice all week. Hes' not on the fantasy radar at this time.

Fri Nov 2 201210:07Petro's back injury not considered serious
Johan Petro's injury is being described as a "sore back."
We haven't received much detail on exactly what is troubling Petro, but a sore back doesn't sound like a big concern at all. We're leaving him as day-to-day on the injury report until we hear differently.

Johan Petro did not practice on Monday due to a back injury.
No other details have surfaced and we've heard nothing prior on the health of Petro's back. He previously voiced displeasure with his role on the Hawks, and he is highly unlikely to crack the rotation.

Mon Oct 22 201209:39Johan Petro not happy with role on Hawks
Johan Petro voiced displeasure with his role in training camp.
"To be honest with you I don't know," he said when asked about his role in Atlanta. I'm still trying to figure out what my place is with this team." The Hawks brought him in as a part of the Joe Johnson trade and the veteran big man has zero fantasy value.

Johan Petro moved back to the bench on Friday, playing just four minutes.
Needless to say, Petro can go back to the waiver wire where he belongs.

Wed Apr 4 201201:12Petro goes 0-for-8 in start at C
Johan Petro made another start at center Tuesday but missed all eight of his shots, failing to score and finishing with six rebounds and zero blocks in the loss to the Lakers.
Even without Andrew Bynum around, Petro couldn't get it going. Keep an eye on him though, as he had 12 points and a full stat line on Saturday.

Sun Apr 1 201200:42Johan Petro solid in fill-in start at center
Johan Petro started at center vs. the Kings, notching 12 points, five rebounds, four assists, one steal and two blocks in just 19 minutes.
Petro is a seven-year veteran but he's still only 26 years old, so he should be capable of logging as many minutes as Avery Johnson asks of him. Shelden Williams (eye) is out for at least two more games, so give Petro a look if you need a low dose of rebounds and blocks.

Sat Mar 31 201204:34Petro posts low-end line in start at center
Johan Petro started at center on Friday against the Warriors, scoring eight points on 4-of-10 shooting with seven rebounds, one steal, and two blocks in 25 minutes.
This is a decent low-end, deep league line, but keep in mind that it comes against the Warriors who essentially use David Lee at center. We'd like to see what Petro can do against real interior competition before calling this a baseline expectation.

Fri Mar 30 201222:21Petro to start on Friday against the Warriors
Johan Petro will start at center in Friday's game against the Warriors.
With Shelden Williams (eye) out for a while and Jordan Williams (concussion) out, there is a chance for Petro to produce -- but we're taking a wait-and-see approach before recommending an add.

Thu Mar 29 201200:45Johan Petro could start for injured Nets
Johan Petro had four points, five rebounds, and a block on Wednesday, but the bigger story is the fact that both Shelden and Jordan Williams went down with injuries.
Shelden went down with a right eye injury in the second quarter and had to be taken to the hospital, while Jordan left in the third quarter due to concussion-like symptoms. With Brook Lopez out, Petro looks to be the only healthy big man left, outside of Kris Humphries. If both Williams' miss significant time, Petro should start and see heavy minutes. However, owners shouldn't rush to pick him up, as he's averaging just five points and three rebounds in six starts this season.

Johan Petro scored 16 points on 6-of-10 shooting with five rebounds and one assist in 20 minutes off the bench on Friday.
Petro is rarely productive when given the minutes and we'll let you know if he can build off this performance.

Sat Feb 4 201202:26Petro (flu) returns to action on Friday
Johan Petro (flu) returned to action on Friday, playing seven minutes with one rebound and one assist to his credit.
Petro has no real fantasy appeal when he's healthy, so when he's playing behind Shelden Williams (two points, four rebounds, two assists, two steals, 22 minutes) he should be ignored.

Fri Feb 3 201211:11Johan Petro ready to return on Friday night
Johan Petro (flu) will be available on Friday.
Petro sat out on Wednesday due to the flu but will be good to go on Friday. He'll resume his starting role but is not a recommended fantasy option.

Wed Feb 1 201218:20Johan Petro (flu) ruled out on Wednesday
Johan Petro (flu) will not play vs. the Pistons on Wednesday.
Things just keep getting worse for the Nets, whose frontcourt has been pared down to Shelden Williams, Kris Humphries and Jordan Williams. Their next game is Friday vs. the improved Wolves.

Tue Jan 3 201201:43Petro blocks four shots on Monday
Johan Petro blocked four shots off the bench on Monday, and added six points with four rebounds and two assists in 19 minutes.
Petro was averaging just 0.5 blocks per game heading into tonight, and since we're not projecting a change in role there's no real reason to assume he can increase that number to become a blocks specialist. If it continues, of course we could change our minds.

Thu Dec 29 201122:16Petro moved to bench role on Thursday
Johan Petro was moved to a bench role for Thursday's game, and finished with two points, three rebounds, and a steal in 11 minutes.
Any deep league value is gone with Petro coming off the bench, and while there's a chance Avery Johnson changes things up we think Mehmet Okur will hold the job going forward.

Tue Dec 27 201123:03Petro held scoreless in second start for NJ
Johan Petro started again in the Nets' blowout loss on Tuesday, and was held scoreless on two shot attempts with three rebounds and a block in 15 minutes.
Petro is Avery Johnson's placeholder at center because he has physicality that Mehmet Okur does not, but something has to give after tonight's massive loss. Whether starting or on the bench, Petro is a longshot for fantasy value this season.
