Brooklyn Nets point guard Jarret Jack is questionable for the season opener Wednesday against the Chicago Bulls due to a hamstring injury, according to Newsday. Jack was unable to practice Monday, and would be replaced in the starting lineup by Shane Larkin if he is unable to play.

Jack tallied 20 points (4-10 FG, 11-11 FT), three rebounds, and two assists in a 97-95 loss to the Sixers on Friday.
Jack looks primed to have a huge season, as Deron Williams left for Dallas and there appears to be no other pure point guard on the roster. This makes him a fantastic value in drafts and his usage should be the highest of his career. Look for Jack to surpass the 30 minute oer game threshold for the first time in four years, which should make him infinitely valuable with how often he'll be handling the rock.

Jack started at point guard in the Nets' preseason-opening loss Monday to Fenerbahce Ulker of Turkey, finishing with 11 points (4-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-3 FT) and one assist in 18 minutes.
With rather unproven players like Shane Larkin, Markel Brown, and Ryan Boatright behind him on the depth chart, Jack should be primed to log huge minutes as the Nets' starting point guard this season. The 31-year-old averaged 15.4 points, six assists, and 3.9 rebounds per 36 minutes last season, so if he can come close to approaching that minutes load most nights, he'll make for a worthy depth piece on any fantasy roster.
Sat Aug 1 201512:18Jack has inside track for starting point guard role
Jack has the inside track for the starting point guard role, according to coach Lionel Hollins, Mike Mazzeo of ESPN reports. "Why can't he [handle the starting point guard role]," Hollins inquired. "He's done it last year, he's done it in Portland, he's done it in Golden State -- wherever he's been, he's had moments where he's had to start."
After the release of Deron Williams last month, Jack faces minimal competition for the starting point guard position. In 27 starts last season, Jack averaged 15.9 points, 6.6 assists, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.2 steals in 36 minutes per game. Three-point shooting is a deficiency, as he converted 27 percent of his 1.8 attempts per game last season, but Jack tends to operate in mid-range more often and at an above-average clip. With the backing of his head coach, expect Jack to hoard plenty of playing time at point guard and return decent value when healthy.

Jack appeared in 80 games for the Nets in 2014-15, averaging 12.0 points, 4.7 assists and 3.1 rebounds while shooting 43.9 percent from the field and 26.7 percent from three.
In his first season with the Nets after spending the previous campaign in Cleveland, Jack was primarily a reserve but made 27 starts during the middle of the season when Deron Williams was injured and coming off the bench. A career 34.8 percent three-point shooter, Jack struggled from the outside, posting his worst single-season three-point percentage since his rookie year. He was particularly ineffective in January, shooting a paltry 19.6 percent from deep (3.1 attempts per game) as the Nets stumbled through a 3-12 month. Jack was able to briefly right the ship in February, shooting 38.1 percent from downtown while converting nearly 50 percent of his field goals. He was effective down the stretch as well, averaging 9.7 points and 3.1 assists in only 18.8 minutes in April as the Nets clinched the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference. The veteran appeared in all six of the Nets' first-round playoff games against the Hawks, averaging 12.3 points, 4.5 assists and 4.2 rebounds while shooting 51.9 percent from the field. His best performance came in a Game 2 loss, when he put up 23 points on 9-of-13 shooting to go with five rebounds and three assists. Next season, Jack enters the third year of the four-year, $25.2 million deal he inked with the Cavaliers prior to the 2013-14 season. He'll remain under contract through the 2016-17 campaign, after which he'll be an unrestricted free agent.

Jack scored 18 points (7-13 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT) with six assists, four rebounds and two steals in 32 minutes off the bench Friday.
He's had an up and down series, but Jack is still one of the key members of the Nets' second unit. They'll need another big effort from him on Friday if the club is going to extend the series to a seventh game.

Jack scored a team-high 23 points (9-13 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT) with five rebounds, three assists and a steal in 29 minutes off the bench in Wednesday's Game 2 loss to the Hawks.
After chipping in 13 points in Game 1's loss, Jack stepped up his efforts but couldn't change the end result on Wednesday. He should remain one of the Nets' key bench contributors when the series shifts back to Brooklyn.

Jack posted 12 points, eight rebounds, seven assists, and two steals in 41 minutes of action Friday against the Bucks.
Jack is averaging 13.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 5.4 assists over the last five games. While he doesn't contribute much in steals and three-pointers, Jack is an efficient shooter -- going 47 percent from the field and 89 percent from the line during that span. He's worth owning in standard leagues in spite of his bench role, as Deron Williams' next injury is always around the corner.

Jack scored 18 points (5-8 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 7-8 FT) with four rebounds and four assists in 22 minutes off the bench Wednesday.
He's starting to find his rhythm again, scoring in double digits in three of his last four games, but the Nets' lack of depth at point guard probably eliminates any chance that Jack might join the starting five alongside Deron Williams and regain anything close to the fantasy value he had prior to Williams' return.

Jack (hamstring) made his return from injury during Wednesday's loss to the Pelicans, coming off the bench for 15 points (5-12 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 4-4 FT), three rebounds and three assists in 28 minutes.
Jack came into this game on a minutes restriction, after missing Monday's outing with a hamstring injury. He was still able to play 28 minutes though, as the injury didn't look to have much of an impact. There's a possibility he could move back into the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Rockets, especially considering he was more effective than Deron Williams in his return. We'll have to wait and see what coach Lionel Hollins decides to do in the next few days though, so it's a situation to monitor closely.
Tue Feb 24 201518:50Jarrett Jack: (Hamstring) To See Limited Minutes Wednesday
Jack (hamstring) will return to action Wednesday, but will play limited minutes off the bench, the New York Post's Tim Bontemps reports.
Deron Williams will start at point guard, with Markel Brown getting the start at shooting guard. It is hard to tell how much of Jack's role off the bench is due to his hamstring injury, or if the Nets are just looking to try something new. For now though, Jack's value is trending down.

Jack (hamstring) practiced Tuesday and is probable for Wednesday's matchup with the Pelicans, Andy Vasquez of The Record reports.
Jack sustained a minor hamstring injury last Tuesday against Memphis, which kept him out of the team's last two games. After putting in a full practice, it seems likely he'll be back in the mix Wednesday, meaning Deron Williams could be pushed back to the bench.
Mon Feb 23 201512:43Jarrett Jack: (Hamstring) Out Monday
Jack (hamstring) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Nuggets, ESPN New York's Devin Kharpertian reports.
With Jack out, Deron Williams and Darius Morris will be the lone point guard options for the Nets on Monday. Williams ended up seeing 40 minutes in Brooklyn's last game, and that could happen once again against Denver. Consider Jack questionable for Wednesday's game against the Pelicans.

Jack (hamstring) is considered doubtful for Monday's game against the Nuggets, Mike Mazzeo of ESPN reports.
Jack continues to deal with a lingering hamstring injury as he wasn't able to practice Saturday, leading to his designation of doubtful for Monday. If he's unable to play, Deron Williams will likely continue to start against the Nuggets.
Fri Feb 20 201515:52Jack (hamstring) will not play in Friday's game versus Lakers
Jack (hamstring) will not play in Friday's game versus the Lakers, the New York Post reports.
Jack missed Thursday's practice due to a slight hamstring issue that apparently hasn't subsided enough for him to play Friday. As a result, Deron Williams is expected to handle the Nets' starting point guard duties against the Lakers, with Jack potentially returning for Monday's contest in Denver.
Thu Feb 19 201517:31Jarrett Jack: (Hamstring) Questionable For Friday
Jack (hamstring) did not practice Thursday, and he is questionable for Friday's game against the Lakers, Tim Bontemps of the New York Post reports.
Jack is dealing with tightness in his hamstring, which first surfaced during Brooklyn's final game before the All-Star break. If Jack cannot play Friday night, Deron Williams will likely return to the starting lineup, with a slew of other players potentially benefiting from added minutes and/or shots.
