Mon Sep 24 201210:12Mickael Pietrus choosing between two teams
Unrestricted FA Mickael Pietrus has reportedly narrowed down his options to two teams.
Pietrus said that he would have signed already, but he wasn't interest in the money that was being offered to him. This reinforces the belief that he was holding out for more than the veteran's minimum salary, and he should sign with a club in the foreseeable future to get acclimated before the regular season begins.

Thu Sep 20 201209:31Report: Pietrus still on Timberwolves radar
Mickael Pietrus is "still on" the Timberwolves radar.
Minnesota has been connected to Pietrus at several points throughout the offseason, and he could make some sense as the team looks for a veteran wing player. If signed, he's not going to offer consistent fantasy value and will be forced to prove that his knee woes are behind him.

Tue Sep 18 201209:18Report: Mickael Pietrus has three NBA offers
Unrestricted FA Mickael Pietrus has three teams showing "major interest" in him.
Two of the teams are reportedly "very motivated to get a deal done," and Pietrus also has a "strong overseas option on the table" with an out clause for him to return to the NBA. We doubt Pietrus goes abroad as he's reportedly "feeling 10 times better than last season," and is finally healthy for the "first time in two years." Pietrus had his knee scoped again in the offseason and he no longer has swelling or pain in the area.

Thu Sep 13 201212:49Pietrus close to deal with unknown team?
Unrestricted FA Mickael Pietrus is reportedly closing in on a deal with an unknown team.
The Timberwolves are not the unidentified franchise as there is "nothing new" between the two sides. Pietrus is known to be searching for more than the veteran's minimum, but he won't be a fantasy factor regardless of his final destination. It doesn't help that he can't keep his knee in good shape.

Sun Sep 2 201209:52Pietrus still searching for lucrative offer
Mickael Pietrus does not want to play for the veteran's minimum, and he continues to weigh his options as a free agent.
Pietrus said repeatedly that he wanted to stay in Boston, and the Celtics still need depth behind Paul Pierce, but they are expected to save their $2 million bi-annual exception until "close to the regular season." The Bucks and Timberwolves both expressed some interest, but may have been scared away by Pietrus' surgically-repaired knee and contract demands.

Fri Aug 31 201209:02Report: T-Wolves have talked to Pietrus' camp
The Timberwolves have reportedly "spoken with Mickael Pietrus' camp."
Pietrus remains an unrestricted free agent. Despite his overtures to remain with the Celtics, Boston wasn't interested in bringing him back and his "exploratory talks" with the Bucks never went anywhere. It doesn't sound like the Timberwolves have very serious interest, either as there is "nothing concerete." He's going to have to prove that his knee issues are behind him before any team signs him to a contract.

Wed Aug 15 201211:27Report: Bucks interest in Pietrus has 'waned'
The Bucks interest in unrestricted FA Mickael Pietrus has "waned."
Although the Bucks are still in the market for a wing, it doesn't sound like the team is interested in bringing in the veteran anymore. After struggling to keep his knee healthy last season and undergoing another offseason surgery, Pietrus may have to wait a little longer than he anticipated to find his next job.

Fri Aug 3 201208:56Report: Bucks interested in Mickael Pietrus
The Bucks have had "exploratory talks" with unrestricted FA Mickael Pietrus.
Pietrus, who was very clearly not healthy down the stretch last season, had another knee surgery in June to clean up a lot of "fragmentation" that was "floating around." The veteran struggled with the Celtics last season, averaging just 6.9 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.5 treys on 38.5 percent shooting in 22 minutes per game. It's the second straight season he's shot under 40 percent from the floor, and one has to wonder if his constant knee issues are impacting his ability to be a consistent contributor. No matter where he ultimately signs, Pietrus will not be on the fantasy radar in standard sized leagues.

Wed Jul 25 201208:55Mickael Pietrus won't sign for vet minimum
Unrestricted FA Mickael Pietrus will not sign for the veteran's minimum, according to his agent Bill McCandless.
Pietrus is "still open to a return" to the Celtics, but McCandless made it clear that his client is not taking a veteran's minimum deal. "He is not a veteran's minimum player," McCandless said. "There's no chance he'll ever sign for that." Pietrus reportedly has an offer from overseas for triple the vet minimum, and he's also had discussions with other NBA teams that are willing to offer more than the minimum. At this point, a return to the Celtics seems unlikely.

Thu Jul 19 201209:05Celtics still in the mix for Mickael Pietrus
The Celtics are still "very much in the picture" for unrestricted free agent Mickael Pietrus.
Pietrus' agent told CSNNE that Pietrus "has had a number of teams express interest," but the swingman has always been very open to a return to Boston. He should sign before too long, but it's uncertain if it will be with the Celtics.

Sat Jul 7 201210:20Celtics lukewarm toward FA Mickael Pietrus?
The Celtics and Mickael Pietrus have had "little contact" during free agency, despite Pietrus' stated desire to return to Boston.
It appears Pietrus isn't high on the Celtics' list of FA target, especially with Jeff Green and Jason Terry both inbound. There's a chance, however, that Boston may intensify their pursuit of Pietrus now that Ray Allen is leaving.

Wed Jun 27 201210:08Pietrus hoping to be on court by August
Mickael Pietrus (knee) is hoping to be running on the court by August.
Pietrus said his rehab is "going well," but the constant issues he's battled with his knee are concerning as he heads into free agency. He's reiterated several times that he would like to remain with the Celtics, and if the team wants him to return, it shouldn't take long to get a new deal done.

Sat Jun 16 201210:52Pietrus (knee) likely out about six weeks
Mickael Pietrus (knee surgery) is expected to rehab for about six weeks.
We're still considering Pietrus questionable for the start of the 2012-13 season, as the same procedure knocked him out far longer last summer. He has also considered going to Europe for the Orthokine therapy which is in vogue, but it's unclear whether that is still an option post-surgery.

Fri Jun 15 201210:08MIckael Pietrus' knee was in bad shape
Mickael Pietrus (knee surgery) had a "lot of fragmentation floating around."
The doctor who performed Pietrus' surgery was surprised that he was able to play with his knee in the shape that it was in. Pietrus has battled knee problems since before he signed with the Celtics this season, and he'll now head into unrestricted free agency with the same red flag. Pietrus wants to re-sign with the Celtics, but the team has not expressed a desire to retain the veteran to date.

Wed Jun 13 201217:07Mickael Pietrus has successful knee surgery
Mickael Pietrus had right knee surgery on Wednesday, the same procedure he underwent last offseason.
Pietrus appeared in every playoff game for the short-handed Celtics, averaging 20 minutes per game, but (perhaps due to his bum knee) his offense was wretched. He averaged just 3.5 points per game, shooting 32.9 percent from the field, 22.2 percent from downtown, and 56.3 percent from the FT line. The surgery last summer caused him to miss eight games after the lockout, so his status for the start of the 2012-13 season is unclear.

Mon Jun 11 201208:52Mickael Pietrus wants to re-sign with Celtics
Unrestricted free agent Mickael Pietrus said that he would like to re-sign with the Celtics.
"Hopefully, everybody will be back," he said. "Next year, we look forward to work even harder to try to get that 18th [NBA championship]." Pietrus struggled mightily from behind the 3-point line in the postseason, making just 12-of-54 shots. Boston could bring him back on an inexpensive one-year deal, but it's not a certainty that he'll return.

Mon May 14 201221:52Mickael Pietrus plays through knee injury
Mickael Pietrus played through a sore knee (that will eventually require surgery) and had eight points, two blocks and two 3-pointers in just 12 minutes off the bench on Monday.
Pietrus is in there to play defense, so don't be surprised if he doesn't hit double digits in scoring in the entire series. He shot it well tonight, hitting 3-of-5 shots and 2-of-3 3-pointers, after hitting 2-of-15 from downtown in the playoffs coming into tonight's game.

Mon May 14 201218:37Mickael Pietrus will need a scope this summer
Mickael Pietrus said he will need arthroscopic knee surgery after the Celtics' playoff run ends.
Pietrus' knee woes limited him to just 42 games during the regular season and he's also been noticeably affected in the playoffs. The scope will clean out some tissue.

Mon May 14 201209:31Mickael Pietrus concentrating on defense
Mickael Pietrus has hit just 2-of-15 3-pointers in the playoffs, but he is concentrating on his defense.
"You know, the Boston Celtics, they never lead the league in scoring," Pietrus said. "They have 17 banners for a reason, they play defense. Play defense and do whatever it is to win the game." Pietrus will need to provide some sort of offensive spark off of the bench if Boston is going to enjoy a deep playoff push.

Sat May 12 201223:03Mickael Pietrus' knee acting up again
Mickael Pietrus' knee has begun to swell again, according to Doc Rivers.
For most of the season Pietrus battled swelling in his surgically-repaired knee, and he is also dealing with a lingering hamstring injury. He was a combined 4-of-15 from the field vs. the Hawks in the first round, and he was abysmal in 11 minutes on Saturday (zero statistics, 0-of-2 FGs). Consider him questionable for Game 2 on Monday.
