Mon Nov 12 201200:06Travis Outlaw scores 11 points in 26 minutes
Travis Outlaw became an emergency starter for the Kings on Sunday, notching 11 points, three rebounds, two assists and two blocks in 26 minutes.
Outlaw started at PF because both DeMarcus Cousins and Thomas Robinson were suspended tonight, but he and Jason Thompson were wildly and predictably overmatched against Pau Gasol and Dwight Howard. Fantasy owners only need to know that Outlaw has racked up three DNP-CDs this season, and his previous season-high was 13 minutes.

Wed Oct 24 201209:19Travis Outlaw praised by Keith Smart
Keith Smart believes Travis Outlaw will help the Kings on defense this season.
"I gave him some data and some things to work on this summer," Smart said. "And he came into camp and did a good job." The head coach wants to use Outlaw against "athletic power forwards and big small forwards," and with John Salmons (personal) away from the team, perhaps Outlaw could earn some rotation minutes. However, we're not fully buying what Smart is selling here.

Tue Oct 9 201215:00Travis Outlaw could start at SF for Kings
Travis Outlaw is earning the praise of the Kings' coaching staff and could be in line to start at small forward this season.
This is somewhat surprising, although Tyreke Evans and John Salmons are still in the mix to win the job. As it stands right now, we're going to set our depth chart with Isaiah Thomas at point guard, Evans at SG, Outlaw at SF, Jason Thompson at PF and DeMarcus Cousins at C. That would make Marcus Thornton the sixth man, with guys like Aaron Brooks and Salmons coming off the bench.

Tue Oct 2 201209:53Travis Outlaw broke hand in offseason
Travis Outlaw broke his hand in the offseason and will wear a protective glove to start the year.
Outlaw isn't expected to see a ton of time in the rotation this year, and the only thing holding his roster spot is his salary. There is no reason to draft him in any format.

Thu Apr 26 201221:41Outlaw to start on Thursday against Lakers
Travis Outlaw will start for injured Marcus Thornton (quad) on Thursday against the Lakers.
Outlaw hung 20 points on the Thunder on Tuesday, and is worth a look for the desperate (preferably in deeper formats). Terrence Williams is also playing tonight, and both guys hope to be the recipients of some garbage time love.

Tue Apr 24 201223:22Travis Outlaw scores 20 points in Kings loss
Travis Outlaw started and hit 7-of-15 shots and two 3-pointers on his way to 20 points, seven rebounds, four steals and two blocks on the Kings loss to the Thunder on Tuesday.
Outlaw was a direct beneficiary by the absence of both Terrence Williams (flu) and Marcus Thornton (quad) tonight. He could do it again on Thursday, as it sounds like Thornton might be done for the year.

Sat Apr 21 201201:00Outlaw does nothing in start for the Kings
Travis Outlaw started for injured Marcus Thornton (quad) on Friday, and missed all six of his field goal attempts on his way to one point, four rebounds, one steal, and one block in 27 minutes.
Maybe the Kings gave Outlaw some 'prove-it' minutes, because nothing he has done this season has justified any time on the floor. He has three more years to go at $3 million per season, and it's unclear if the cash-strapped Maloofs would be willing to eat that mistake.

Sat Mar 31 201203:49Outlaw awful in start for injured Evans
Travis Outlaw started for injured Tyreke Evans (back) on Friday, scoring two points on 1-of-5 shooting with one rebounds and two blocks in 14 minutes.
The only thing more ridiculous than the Nets giving Outlaw a big money deal was the Kings turning around and adding Outlaw on a four-year, $12 million contract. Maybe if they kept the money the Maloofs could afford to pay the $3 million they're trying to squirm out of on the arena deal (no, the Kings aren't moving).

Thu Jan 12 201211:16Travis Outlaw's role to be decreased?
Travis Outlaw may see a decreased role in the rotation under Keith Smart.
Donte Greene is seeing more minutes under Smart, while Francisco Garcia has also been playing more since Smart took over at the helm. Outlaw shouldn't be owned in standard sized leagues, but in case he previously was, this should be the incentive to drop him.

Mon Dec 19 201117:06Travis Outlaw practicing for Kings
Travis Outlaw, who is recovering from a broken hand, practiced with the Kings on Monday.
His had is still an issue, but he's able to play through it. We don't expect him to have fantasy value playing for a deep Kings team this season, but he's probably worth keeping an eye on.

Sat Dec 17 201118:33Kings claim Travis Outlaw off waivers
The Kings have claimed Travis Outlaw off waivers, according to Yahoo! Sports.
Apparently Sacramento's bid was successful, and Outlaw's arrival could signal the end of their pursuit of Andrei Kirilenko. Outlaw will likely come off the bench behind John Salmons, and isn't likely to have fantasy value in average leagues.

Fri Dec 16 201116:15NYK interested in Outlaw
Sources are telling the New York Post that the Knicks are interested in Travis Outlaw if he clears the amnesty waiver process. Teams that are under the salary-cap would have first shot at Outlaw through a bidding process before the Knicks could make a claim.
Knicks head coach Mike D'Antoni has hinted that the New York Knicks are looking to add another forward to the roster and with the Knicks very interested in adding another bench player, Outlaw could fit the bill if he clears amnesty waivers. Most were shocked when the Nets gave Outlaw a five-year, $35 million deal before the start of last season, and the Nets ended up using their amnesty clause on Outlaw this week. Outlaw would come off the bench in New York, so he is not someone to look at right now, but could provide value if the Knicks suffer injuries in their front court later this season.

Thu Dec 15 201115:11Travis Outlaw amnesty waived by Nets
Travis Outlaw has been waived by the Nets using the amnesty clause.
This doesn't come as a surprise after last year's disastrous season, his monster contract and a broken hand. The Shawne Williams signing appears to be what finally triggered the move and Outlaw will go through the waivers process now. This could also signal that Andrei Kirilenko is ready to sign with the Nets.

Tue Dec 13 201110:41Outlaw has screw in his hand after injury
Travis Outlaw had a screw put into his hand.
The news just keeps getting worse for Outlaw. Although the team hasn't made an officially decision as to whether he will be cut under the amnesty provision, he's been a natural candidate for quite some time. He had a fracture following an incident with a punching bag, and he was also seen running with a limp. It would be a surprise if he remains on the Nets roster.

Tue Dec 6 201117:13Travis Outlaw '10 days away' from contact
Travis Outlaw is 10 days away from basketball contact due to a broken right hand suffered nine weeks ago.
He had surgery in Colorado and doesn't sound likely for opening night for the Nets. Then again, he may not be with the team for long as he is a top amnesty candidate, meaning he could be waived soon. We've got Damion James starting at SF for the Nets, who along with Anthony Morrow, look like potential fantasy sleepers this season.

Mon Dec 5 201116:20Report: Travis Outlaw may have broken hand
The Nets are preparing to examine Travis Outlaw's hand injury and it sounds like it could be broken.
Outlaw proved last year that he shouldn't be starting in the NBA, and if sidelined, Damion James and Anthony Morrow would both benefit greatly. Stay tuned.

Tue Oct 11 201107:07Travis Outlaw working on fitness to improve
Travis Outlaw is working with a conditioning coach during the offseason in an effort to improve his fitness.
Outlaw was handed five-year, $35 million contract prior to the start of the 2010-11 season and flopped miserably in his first season with the Nets. Fortunately, it can't get much worse for the forward, who is looking to live up to his price tag. It's worth noting that he was coming off of foot surgery in 2009, but his play will have to really improve for the team to get what it sought from its investment.

Thu Jul 7 201112:07NJ Nets looking for a small forward via trade
The Nets would like to acquire a small forward via trade rather than free agency.
The club is clearly not content with what Travis Outlaw provided in his first season with the team, and they're looking to surround Deron Williams with a major increase in talent next year.

Tue Jul 5 201114:13Travis Outlaw was "stressed out" in 2010-11
Travis Outlaw was reportedly stressed out last season after inking a 5-year, $35 million contract with New Jersey.
This might help to explain his poor play during the regular season, but it still doesn't make him worthy of making $7 million per season. Unfortunately, this type of news is just about as big as it gets with the lockout in full effect.

Mon May 9 201110:46Travis Outlaw was out of shape in 2010-11
Travis Outlaw plans to improve his off-season regimen and be in better shape for the beginning of next season.
Outlaw signed a lucrative five-year, $35 million deal and didn't play anywhere near his $7 million annual salary. GM Billy King reportedly sat down with Outlaw and crafted a plan for how he can once again make himself relevant, but unfortunately he's going to have to do more than diet and exercise to escape Avery Johnson's doghouse.
