Tue Nov 9 202120:51Ty France To Start At First For Mariners In 2022
Seattle Mariners infielder Ty France will be the team's starting first baseman next season, Mariners president of baseball operations Jerry Dipoto told reporters at the general manager meetings on Tuesday. France, who joined Seattle in a 2020 trade with the San Diego Padres, enjoyed a breakout season at the plate in 2021. In 650 plate appearances, the 27-year-old hit .291 with a .368 on-base percentage and 18 home runs. Arguably the Mariners best position player last season, France also started games at second base and third base.

Sun Oct 3 202101:24Ty France Doubles Twice, Scores Three Runs Saturday
Seattle Mariners infielder Ty France had another strong game Saturday, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, a walk, a hit-by-pitch, and three runs scored in a 6-4 win over the Los Angeles Angels. France has come up huge down the stretch, slashing .358/.470/.566 with two homers, 11 RBI, and 13 runs scored in his last 15 games. He doesn't offer enough power or speed to be a top-end fantasy value, but he's been a solid contributor all season long and should be drafted in the middle rounds come 2022.

France has managed to deliver on the promise of an excellent spring training, rewarding the managers who kept faith in him through slump and injury.

Seattle Mariners infielder Ty France led the way for the Mariners Friday, going 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, and a run scored. He now has 18 homers and 68 RBI for the season. France has been on fire in the second half of the season, slashing .329/.394/.494 in 249 at-bats since the All-Star break. Thu Sep 23 202112:18Ty France Homers, Scores Twice Wednesday
Seattle Mariners infielder Ty France hit his 17th home run of the season in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Oakland Athletics. He went 2-for-4 with two runs scored. France is slashing .423/.516/.615 in 26 at-bats over his last seven games. He's clearly been the best hitter in the Seattle lineup, if not the biggest run-producer with 65 RBI. France is solid across all categories but speed, and he's been a very good find for fantasy managers who invested early.

Mon Sep 20 202114:59Ty France Has Four Hits, Reaches Base Three Times
Seattle Mariners infielder Ty France had another strong game Sunday, moving up to the second spot in the lineup. France went 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, an RBI, and a run scored. France now has a six-game hitting streak, with each of the last three outings having multiple hits. He hasn't homered since August 23, but he's been a very safe option for fantasy managers otherwise. If he could up his power output a bit, he'd be a fantasy force.

Sun Sep 19 202101:34Ty France Has Five-Game Hit Streak
Seattle Mariners infielder Ty France was the lone bright spot for the Seattle offense Saturday, going 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, and a run scored. This is the second straight game he's reached base three times, and he now has a modest five-game hit streak going. France has been Seattle's most consistent hitter, but he hasn't homered since August 23 and he has just 16 on the year. Fantasy managers will be looking for a bit more in the power department if they're going to make him a priority in 2022 drafts.

Sat Sep 18 202100:30Ty France Reaches Four Times Against Royals Friday
Seattle Mariners infielder Ty France reached base in all four plate appearances against the Kansas City Royals Friday, going 2-for-2 with a walk and a hit-by-pitch. France has now been hit by 24 pitches this year, lifting him into the major league lead in the dubious category. More relevant for fantasy, France has lifted his OPS to .800 on the season, adding 16 homers, 72 runs, and 62 RBI. He's been a steady contributor in all categories but speed, and is poised to enter 2022 as Seattle's top hitter.

He's the clear MVP of the Mariners, which underscores how valuable he's been to fantasy managers as well.

It's the first time France has homered in back-to-back games this year. With a 1.221 OPS over his last seven games, France is delivering on the promise of his hot spring training, establishing himself as a formidable hitter and fantasy option.

Sun Aug 15 202111:20Ty France Continues Hot Streak
Seattle Mariners first baseman/designated hitter Ty France continued his hot hitting Saturday, going 2-for-3 with a home run, a triple, a walk, two RBI and three runs scored. It's his 12th home run of the season. At .806, France now has the highest OPS of all Mariners regulars, and has a case to be the team's MVP. While he doesn't dominate any one fantasy category, he's slashed .345/.397/.504 over his last 30 games with four homers, 20 runs, and 16 RBI. That'll play in any fantasy format.

Mon Aug 2 202123:21Ty France Homers, Drives In Three Against Rays
Seattle Mariners infielder Ty France had a strong day at the plate Monday against the Rays, going 3-for-5 with a home run, a double, three RBI, and two runs scored. The solo shot was his 11th of the season. France has now raised his OPS to .789 on the season, with a .908 mark over hihs last 15 games. As long as he's batting in the middle of the lineup, France will offer plenty of fantasy value as he racks up runs and RBI.

Sat Jul 31 202123:19Ty France Goes Deep Saturday
Seattle Mariners designated hitter Ty France went 1-for-5 with a home run against the Texas Rangers Saturday. It's his 10th homer of the year and his first since July 18. France has continued to bat third in the Seattle lineup, but he's been somewhat disappointing with his power production, leading to his .426 slugging percentage on the year. He has been quite steady, but his 51 runs scored and 45 RBI aren't enough to make him a must on fantasy rosters.

Sun Jul 25 202102:43Sandoval loses no-hitter in 9th, Angels beat Twins 2-1
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Patrick Sandoval had his no-hit bid broken up with one out in the ninth inning on a soft double by rookie Brent Rooker and the Los Angeles Angels beat the Minnesota Twins 2-1 on Saturday night. Sandoval, a 24-year-old lefty who began the game with a 3-13 career record, struck out a career-high 13. There have already been seven no-hitters in the majors this season. The big league record of eight was set in 1884, the first year overhand pitching was permitted. The Twins hadn’t come close to a hit until Rooker, who fanned his first three times up, flared an opposite-field fly that fell just inside the line in right. Sandoval (3-4) smiled after the ball fell, retired the next batter and then was pulled after 108 pitches. He walked one and hit two. Closer Raisel Iglesias allowed an RBI double to Josh Donaldson before getting his 21st save in 25 chances. José Berríos (7-5) allowed two unearned runs in seven innings in perhaps his final start for Minnesota. ASTROS 4, RANGERS... [More]
