LHP Andrew Albers had his contract selected by the Twins from Triple-A Rochester on Thursday. Albers has a 9-5 record with a 3.51 ERA in 19 starts with Rochester this season but has only pitched in one game in the majors since appearing in 10 games with the Twins in 2013.

LHP Andrew Albers will be recalled from Triple-A Rochester before the second game of Thursday's split doubleheader against the Astros as the 26th man. Albers has a 9-5 record with a 3.51 ERA in 19 starts with Rochester this season but has only pitched in one game in the majors since appearing in 10 games with the Twins in 2013.
Wed Jun 10 201516:47Albers outrighted off 40-man roster Wednesday
Albers was outrighted off the 40-man roster Wednesday, Brendan Kennedy of the Toronto Star reports.
Albers has fallen quickly from favor this season, pitching in just one game for the Blue Jays, and now dropping off the 40-man roster after posting a 4.33 ERA and 1.35 WHIP over 62.1 innings with Triple-A Buffalo. The most likely scenario for the 29-year-old involves serving as organizational depth moving forward.
Fri May 1 201523:00Albers optioned to Triple-A Buffalo after Friday's game
Albers was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo after Friday's game, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Albers' tenure on the big-league roster lasted less than 12 hours, as he was called up and sent right back down after pitching 2.2 innings in long relief Friday night. The lefty was likely to be unavailable for a few days anyway after tossing those frames, and it's possible he could return to fill a long role in the near future. Albers has posted a 3.09 ERA and 1.20 ERA in 23.1 innings with Buffalo this season.

Albers will be called up to the Blue Jays for Friday's game against the Indians, Blue Jays radio announcer Mike Wilner reports.
Albers will land in the bullpen for now, also per Wilner. The 29-year-old Canadian had a strong start in Triple-A to the tune of a 3.09 ERA across four starts, but his upside is severely limited given his lack of strikeouts in the last two seasons (one of which was in Korea).
Tue Apr 7 201511:52Albers named Opening Day starter for Triple-A Buffalo
Albers has been named the Opening Day starter for Triple-A Buffalo, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet reports.
Albers pitched in South Korea last season after making 10 starts with the Twins in 2013. His numbers in the Korean Baseball Organization were unremarkable at best, posting a 5.84 ERA in 146.1 innings. Albers could make some occasional appearances for the Blue Jays, but will need to pitch consistently at the Triple-A level first. He has limited fantasy value until he demonstrates an ability to get to the major league level and stay there, which likely won't happen unless there's a rash of injuries to the starting rotation.

Albers signed a minor league contract with the Blue Jays on Friday that includes an invitation to spring training, Sportsnet's Ben Nicholson-Smith reports.
After spending the previous season in South Korea, Albers will return to his native Canada in an attempt to work his way back to the big leagues. He captured some attention for his work with the Twins in the 2013 season, during which he compiled a 4.05 ERA over 10 second-half starts. He'll provide the team with some organizational starting depth at the Triple-A level, and could be called upon to make a few spot starts with the Blue Jays in 2015.
Wed Jan 29 201408:46Andrew Albers signs with Korean team
Andrew Albers has officially signed a one-year, $800,000 contract with the Hanwha Eagles of the Korean Baseball Organization, according to the Yonhap News Agency.
The deal includes a $100,000 signing bonus. Albers, 27, had a 4.05 ERA and 25/7 K/BB ratio in 60 innings over 10 starts with the Twins last season and was likely on the outside looking in for a rotation spot this spring. The southpaw doesn't have much long-term upside, but he could surface again in the majors at some point.

Thu Jan 23 201412:05SP Albers leaves Twins, heads for Korea
The KBO's Hanwha Eagles have agreed to a contract with Andrew Albers, reports Steve Adams of MLB Trade Rumors.
Albers, 27, had a 4.05 ERA and 25/7 K/BB ratio in 60 innings over 10 starts with the Twins last season. He jumped out to a 2-0 start by beginning his career with 17 1/3 scoreless innings but sharply regressed towards the mean thereafter. He's a soft-tossing Canadian control artist who wasn't in Minnesota's long-term plans because he doesn't have swing-and-miss stuff.

Tue Jan 21 201422:49Albers might not go to Korea after all
Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer-Press reports that a "possible snag" has developed in the Twins' attempt to sell Andrew Albers to the Hanwha Eagles.
Berardino says it appears the Korea Baseball Organization club "failed to follow MLB protocol." It's not clear at this point if the deal is unlikely or just less likely at this point. Albers, 27, had a 4.05 ERA and 25/7 K/BB ratio in 60 innings over 10 starts with the Twins last season.

Tue Jan 21 201413:48Albers has tentative deal with Korean team
Andrew Albers' agent, Blake Corosky, confirmed that a tentative deal is in place with the Hanwha Eagles of the Korea Baseball Organization, but the Twins still need to negotiate a buyout.
This confirms an initial report from Dan Kurtz of MyKBO.net. Albers is coming off a 4.05 ERA in 10 starts with the Twins last season, but he was likely going to start 2014 in the minors.

Tue Jan 21 201413:27Albers hasn't reached deal with Korean team
According to MLB Trade Rumors, Andrew Albers does not have an agreement with the Hanwha Eagles of the Korea Baseball Organization.
The Eagles are interested in Albers, but the two sides have yet to agree to a deal. Albers, 27, had a 4.05 ERA and 25/7 K/BB ratio in 60 innings over 10 starts with the Twins last season and could be in the mix for the fifth spot in the starting rotation this spring if he sticks around.

Tue Jan 21 201412:47Albers signs with Korean team
Dan Kurtz of MyKBO.net reports that right-hander Andrew Albers has signed with the Hanwha Eagles of the Korea Baseball Organization.
No official word yet from the Twins, who own his rights. Albers, 27, had a 4.05 ERA and 25/7 K/BB ratio in 60 innings across 10 starts with the big club last season. He would have been a long shot to end up with a rotation spot in 2014, so he has apparently found a better opportunity overseas.

Fri Sep 27 201300:24Albers gives up four runs in loss to Indians
Andrew Albers was tagged for four runs over 5 2/3 innings Thursday in a loss to the Indians.
Albers was pulled after he loaded the bases in the sixth inning. The rookie southpaw struck out two and walked two in the loss. After winning his first two major league starts, Albers finished the year with five consecutive losses. He's unlikely to find his way back on the fantasy radar in 2014.

Sat Sep 21 201301:51Andrew Albers struggles versus A's
Andrew Albers was tagged for eight runs -- three earned -- in 4 2/3 innings by the A's on Friday night.
The Twins made three errors while Albers was on the mound, putting him at quite the disadvantage. Still, it was his second straight rocky outing and he's gone seven straight without a win since throwing a shutout in his second major league start.

Sun Sep 8 201317:28Albers hurls 7 shutout frames in no-decision
Andrew Albers fired seven shutout innings, scattering four hits, in a no-decision against Toronto on Sunday.
He struck out five and walked none. Albers has taken a circuitous route to his 2-2 record, 3.35 ERA and 0.99 WHIP in seven starts. He jumped out to a 2-0 start by beginning his big league career with 17 1/3 scoreless innings, but went 0-2 in his next four starts and allowed exactly five runs in three of those outings. Albers is a soft-tossing Canadian control artist who will always walk an extremely thin line to success because he doesn't have swing-and-miss stuff. He's struck out merely 20 batters in 45 2/3 innings, but has walked only three in that stretch. Albers has a date with the Rays in Minneapolis on Friday.

Wed Aug 28 201323:18Andrew Albers pitches well in loss to Royals
Andrew Albers pitched well in a losing effort against the Royals on Wednesday, surrendering three runs (two earned) on six hits over his seven innings of work.
Albers struck out two without walking a batter in the game. All of the damage against him in this contest came via the long ball, with Alex Gordon and Salvador Perez each knocking one over the boards. Albers continues to impress, posting a 2.92 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 13/3 K/BB ratio through his first 37 innings with the Twins. He'll look to get back in the win column when he takes on the Astros in Houston on Monday.

Thu Aug 22 201316:16Albers gives up five runs in no-decision
Andrew Albers was tagged for five runs over 5 2/3 innings Thursday in a no-decision against the Tigers.
Albers held the Tigers to two runs over the first six innings, but things unraveled for him in the sixth before he was pulled in favor of Josh Roenicke, who gave up a game-tying three-run homer. After beginning his career with back-to-back scoreless outings, the rookie left-hander has allowed five earned runs in consecutive starts. We're not banking on a return to fantasy relevancy.

Sat Aug 17 201322:06Albers shelled for five runs in loss to CHW
Andrew Albers was shelled for five runs in seven innings Saturday as the Twins fell to the White Sox.
The regression monster was bound to come biting at some point. Albers dominated the Royals and Indians in his first two major league starts but the wheels fell off for him on Saturday night. He's not to be trusted in fantasy leagues.

Mon Aug 12 201322:59Andrew Albers tosses two-hitter in victory
Andrew Albers pitched a two-hitter Monday in the Twins' 3-0 victory over the Indians.
That's 17 1/3 scoreless innings in two starts for Albers, who has toyed with Kansas City and Cleveland over the last week. While there's good reason for skepticism going forward here, he has a pretty easy assignment coming up against the White Sox next. It'd be worth seeing if he can keep it up.
