While he is 13-4 on the year, Hutchison has struggled mightily throughout the season (5.33 ERA, 1.46 WHIP), and he made just one appearance out of the bullpen (11 pitches) after being bumped from the rotation following his Sept. 9 start.

Hutchison (13-4) was rocked for six runs on six hits and two walks in just 3.1 innings against the Red Sox on Wednesday.

Hutchison may have a shiny record, but it's come alongside horrendous ratios, and they've only been getting worse recently. Over 8.1 innings in his last two starts, he's given up 12 runs on 15 hits (five homers) and a pair of walks. His BABIP and strand rate look like they have some bad luck to them, though, as his 4.25 FIP and 4.11 xFIP are well lower than his 5.33 ERA. Of course, those are still below-average numbers, and they come alongside a strikeout rate hat's fallen precipitously from last season.

Hutchison was rocked for six runs on nine hits, he did not walk a batter and struck out two over five innings of a 10-2 loss to the Orioles on Friday night.

Hutchison (13-3, 5.07 ERA) was impressive in his first start after returning from Triple-A Buffalo, but he was again too hittable in this one, serving up three more home runs. The 13 wins are great, but he has relied far too heavily on the Jays offense as the 5.07 ERA would suggest.

Hutchison won his 13th game of the season Saturday, giving up just one run on six hits over seven innings while striking out seven without walking a batter.

En route to a 15-1 rout of the Tigers, the Blue Jays scored three runs in the first inning and only failed to plate at least one run in two of their eight turns at bat, so Hutchison was on cruise control almost out of the gate. His next start, Friday against the Orioles, is also at home, where Hutchison is now 11-1 with a 2.46 ERA in 14 starts on the season.

Hutchison was on a pitch count of 70-75 and could only make it through four innings before throwing his 71st and final pitch. His performances in Triple-A likely won't have a real bearing on whether or not he gets called back up as he's still on track to return to the majors on August 29 when the Jays need a fifth starter again.

With an interleague series against the Phillies upcoming, the Jays brought up Matt Hague and Ezequiel Carrera to give them more pinch hitting options. Hutchison is coming off one of his best starts of the season, throwing 6.2 innings of one run ball Sunday against the Yankees.
