Wed Mar 30 202214:28Andrew Vaughn Resumes Swinging
Chicago White Sox outfielder Andrew Vaughn (hip) resumed swinging a bat on Wednesday. Vaughn is dealing with a hip-pointer injury that is expected to keep him out for one to two weeks, and while it's good news that he's swinging a bat, it remains to be seen if he'll be ready by Opening Day next week. But the 23-year-old should be ready to go before long, even if he isn't in the starting lineup for the first regular season game. Vaughn had his ups and downs in his rookie season in 2021 and hit only .235 with 101 strikeouts in 469 plate appearances, but he also recorded 15 home runs, 48 RBI and 56 runs scored in 127 games and should be a lineup regularly in an up-and-coming White Sox lineup.

Mon Mar 28 202213:28Andrew Vaughn Out 1-2 Weeks With Hip Pointer
Chicago White Sox outfielder Andrew Vaughn (hip) has been diagnosed with a hip pointer injury, or bruised pelvis, and is currently projected to return to game action in the next one to two weeks. Vaughn was carted off the field during a Cactus League game on Sunday after he made a diving catch in the fourth inning. The 23-year-old could begin the regular season on the injured list, but he appears to have avoided a long-term absence to kick off the 2022 campaign. He had his ups and downs in his rookie season last year, but Vaughn is still a fine late-round target with four-category upside in a strong White Sox lineup.

Mon Mar 28 202211:19Andrew Vaughn Dealing With Hip Discomfort
Chicago White Sox outfielder Andrew Vaughn (hip) left the Cactus League game on Sunday against the Los Angeles Dodgers with right hip discomfort. Vaughn had to be carted off the field after making a diving catch in the fourth inning. It's usually not good when a player is carted off the field, but the actual severity of his injury is unknown. The 23-year-old is hitting .429 through his first six games of spring training action and was set to be a nice late-round target in fantasy drafts. Vaughn struggled against right-handed pitching in his rookie year and hit .235/.309/.396 with 15 home runs, 48 RBI and 56 runs in 469 plate appearances. But he has plenty of power and the potential to be a four-category contributor in his sophomore season, if healthy.

Fri Oct 8 202112:57Andrew Vaughn Starting At First Base On Friday
Chicago White Sox rookie first baseman Andrew Vaughn is earning his first career postseason start on Friday. He'll be batting seventh and covering first base in Game 2 of the ALDS against the Houston Astros. Gavin Sheets handled first base duties in the team's Game 1 loss and he went 0-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts. The White Sox are going up against left-hander Framber Valdez on Friday. The right-handed Vaughn had a fantastic .555 slugging percentage against lefties this year and he was 3-for-5 with a home run against Valdez. He could be a dangerous bat in the lower-third of the White Sox lineup in Game 2.

Fri Sep 24 202107:47Andrew Vaughn Tallies Two RBI In His Return
Chicago White Sox outfielder Andrew Vaughn (back) was activated from the injured list prior to Game 2 of the team's doubleheader against the Cleveland Indians on Thursday. He went on to start the second game of the two-game set and he went 1-for-3 with a pair of RBI. Vaughn was sidelined for about two weeks due to lower back inflammation. He was really struggling before hitting the injured list as he had gone just 1-for-21 over his first five games of September. It's been an uneven rookie year for the 23-year-old. Over 121 games, he's slashing .241/.314/.409 with 15 home runs, 47 RBI and 54 runs.

Wed Sep 15 202100:09Andrew Vaughn Placed On 10-Day Injured List
Chicago White Sox outfielder Andrew Vaughn (back) was placed on the 10-day injured list before Tuesday's game with lower back inflammation. The move was retroactive to September 10 and will move infielder/outfielder Leury Garcia into an outfield role in the interim. Vaughn hasn't lived up to the lofty expectations during his rookie season, posting 15 HR, 45 RBI, 54 R, and one SB with a .240/.314/.409 line across 396 at-bats. The 23-year-old remains a strong option in dynasty formats and should be a crucial, middle-of-the-order bat for the White Sox for years to come.

Sun Sep 5 202112:14White Sox Will Rest Andrew Vaughn On Sunday
Chicago White Sox outfielder Andrew Vaughn will get a routine day off in Sunday's contest versus the Kansas City Royals. Vaughn had a strong start to the second half, but has been in a major slump lately. Over his last 15 games, the rookie is hitting a poor .173 with one home run and seven RBI. With the playoffs around the corner is most formats, managers in redraft leagues could consider swapping him out for a player swinging a better bat at the moment. Replacing Vaughn on Sunday will be outfielder Brian Goodwin. Goodwin is hitting .193 over his last 30 games. The veteran will bat fifth versus Brady Singer and can be avoided in DFS this afternoon.

After a rough first half, Vaughn has really turned it on in the second half and has become a productive player in all formats. In his first season, Vaughn is now hitting .263 with 15 home runs and 42 RBI.

Vaughn crushed a rocket to center field off of Nestor Cortes in the bottom of the sixth inning. After a slow start to his rookie season, Vaughn been hitting the ball very well. The rookie is now hitting a respectable .263 with 14 home runs and 38 RBI. Vaughn should have more RBI opportunities with outfielders Eloy Jimenez and Luis Robert back in the lineup and is worth rostering in all formats.

Sat Aug 14 202118:42Andrew Vaughn Isn't Starting On Saturday
Chicago White Sox outfielder Andrew Vaughn isn't starting on Saturday against the New York Yankees and right-hander Jameson Taillon. Vaughn is hitting .262 with a .331 on-base percentage, 13 home runs, and a stolen base in 362 plate appearances this season. The outfielder started the team's last game at designated hitter. He'll be replaced in Saturday's lineup by Jake Lamb, who is batting eighth against Taillon. Lamb is hitting .222 with a .333 on-base percentage and five home runs in 105 plate appearances this season. He's probably only a streaming option on Saturday for fantasy managers in deeper leagues.

Chicago White Sox outfielder Andrew Vaughn will get the day off on Saturday versus the Chicago Cubs. Vaughn has been hitting the ball very well of late and is hitting .308 with five home runs and 14 RBI over his last 30 games. Replacing Vaughn on Saturday will be outfielder Brian Goodwin. Goodwin has been swinging a hot bat of late with three home runs in his last four games and will bat sixth in the lineup. The lefty will face off against Adbert Alzolay on Saturday and with Alzolay allowing more home runs to left-handers than any pitcher in the league this season, Goodwin makes for an excellent DFS play.
