Sat Apr 1 202310:31Nolan Jones Homers Twice For Albuquerque
Colorado Rockies' No. 17 prospect Nolan Jones had a big night in Triple-A on Friday. Jones smashed a pair of two-run homers for Albuquerque, making him the first player to hit two Opening Day homers for the Isotopes. Jones is a former top prospect for the Cleveland Guardians, hitting .244 with two homers and 13 RBI across 86 MLB at-bats for the team in 2022. Cleveland traded Jones to the Rockies in November for shortstop Juan Brito. Jones is worth keeping tabs on in deeper dynasty leagues in case he gets called up to join Colorado at some point during the season.

Tue Mar 21 202300:35Nolan Jones Optioned To Triple-A Albuquerque Monday
The Colorado Rockies optioned third baseman Nolan Jones to Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday, per the Communications Department's Twitter account. The 24-year-old, who was acquired from the Guardians in November had batted just .186 in 43 spring at-bats. However, he has intriguing power potential and can play first base and outfield. Jones will not start the season with the Rockies, but his multi-position skills could help him eventually re-join the team, especially if he hits well in Triple-A. Jones' power in Coors Field could be a fantasy asset, but fantasy managers will have to wait on that possibility for now.

Tue Nov 15 202220:21Rockies Acquire Nolan Jones From Guardians
The Colorado Rockies acquired infielder Nolan Jones from the Cleveland Guardians on Tuesday in exchange for infielder Juan Brito. Jones was a former second-round pick and is listed as Cleveland's No. 7 prospect, per MLB Pipeline. The 24-year-old has had some of the best walk rates in the minors over the last couple seasons, and he finished the season at Triple-A Columbus by hitting .276 with nine home runs, 43 RBI, 44 runs, four stolen bases and 31 walks in 55 games. In his first 28 games at the big-league level, Jones hit .244 (21-for-86) with two homers, 13 RBI and 10 runs scored. The left-handed hitter has a chance to play a lot at the hot corner in Colorado in 2023. Brito, meanwhile, was listed as the Rockies' No. 30 prospect. The 21-year-old switch-hitter batted .286 with 11 home runs, 72 RBI, 91 runs and 17 stolen bases in 107 games for Single-A Fresno this year.

Tue Jul 12 202201:00Nolan Jones Plates Four More Monday
Cleveland Guardians third base/outfield prospect Nolan Jones continued to impress in Monday's 8-4 win over the White Sox. The 24-year-old went 2-for-3 with a single, a double, four RBI, and a strikeout. Jones is known for his power potential and has looked intriguing in his first 16 plate appearances with the Guardians, slashing .538/.625/.923 with a home run and eight RBI. Obviously, these metrics won't stay this good, but Jones is worth keeping an eye on in the event that he can continue to bring the power at the big-league level.

Fri Jul 8 202218:12Nolan Jones Called Up Friday
Cleveland Guardians third baseman/outfielder Nolan Jones was called up Friday and is set to make his MLB debut. Jones has been a highly regarded prospect in the past, but dropped out of the top 100 after a mediocre 2021 campaign. He seems to have found his game this year, though, hitting for a monster .311/.417/.500 slash line to go along with three homers and four steals in 108 plate appearances. There is no rush to go out and add him in most leagues, but keep an eye on him. Richie Palacios was optioned to the minors to make room for Jones.

Fri Mar 18 202214:26Nolan Jones, Tyler Freeman Not Cleared For Games
Cleveland Guardians third baseman Nolan Jones (ankle, back) and shortstop Tyler Freeman (shoulder) have yet to be cleared to play in spring games. Jones had ankle surgery in the offseason and is now dealing with back pain, although he's starting to run, hit and throw in camp. Freeman, meanwhile, had soreness in his left shoulder prior to camp after undergoing surgery last year. He is expected to resume hitting this week. Jones, 23, hit .238/.356/.431 with 13 home runs, 48 RBI and 10 steals in 99 games for Triple-A Columbus last year, but he's expected to start back in the minors in 2022. Freeman is one of the team's top prospects, but he won't be ready for Opening Day and will also begin in the minors after tearing the labrum in his shoulder last year.
