Mon Aug 2 202113:16Myles Straw Leading Off Monday
Cleveland Indians outfielder Myles Straw will be playing center field and leading off in Monday's tilt against the Toronto Blue Jays and left-hander Robbie Ray. This looks to be the new approach for the Indians against left-handers as Straw also led off Saturday against White Sox left-hander Dallas Keuchel. Straw has plenty of speed, but only has three of his 17 stolen bases against left-handers this season and is also slashing just .220/.298/.239 against lefties this season. He is not a recommended fantasy option in daily fantasy today.

Fri Jul 30 202122:25Indians acquire OF Straw from Astros for RHP Maton
CLEVELAND (AP) — The Indians made another trade just before the deadline Friday, sending reliever Phil Maton to the AL West-leading Houston Astros for outfielder Myles Straw. Cleveland, which dealt second baseman Cesar Hernandez and outfielder Eddie Rosario in separate trades, also sent catcher Yainer Diaz to Houston for the speedy Straw, who will fill an open outfield spot for the remainder of this season — and maybe beyond. Maton has been used in a setup role this season, his third with the Indians. The 28-year-old right-hander was 2-0 with a 4.57 ERA in 38 appearances. The 26-year-old Straw batted .262 with two homers and 34 RBIs in 98 games for the Astros. He has also scored 44 runs and is currently tied second in the AL with 17 steals in 22 attempts. Straw has also played well defensively, without an error over 96 games in center field. A right-handed hitter, Straw was drafted in the 12th round by Houston in 2015. When asked about whether he wished the Astros kept Straw, manager Dusty Baker said: “I can’t answer that. I don’t think that’s anybody’s business. I’m not the decision maker, so sometimes you have to do what the organization asks. Sometimes you don’t have a choice.” ___ More AP MLB: https://apnews.com/hub/mlb and https://twitter.com/AP_Sports

Fri Jul 30 202115:54Myles Straw Traded To Cleveland
Houston Astros outfielder Myles Straw has been traded to the Cleveland Indians for relief pitcher Phil Maton, according to Mark Berman of FOX26. Straw has been a solid source of speed this season, swiping 17 bases while slashing .262/.339/.326 with two homers, 34 RBI and 44 runs scored over 98 games. Meanwhile, Houston will get a solid boost to their bullpen in Maton, who is 2-0 with a 4.57 ERA, 1.355 WHIP and 34.3 percent strikeout rate over 41 1/3 innings of work. Maton should see a boost in value in SV/HLD formats, while Straw could see a slight downgrade in value playing in a worse lineup in Cleveland. This move also boosts the value of Chas McCormick, who should figure to take over the starting job in center field in Houston.
