Wed Aug 18 202118:26Tyler Mahle Takes Fourth Loss
Cincinnati Reds right-hander Tyler Mahle struggled in a 7-1 loss to the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday. Mahle allowed five runs over five innings while striking out five and walking one. The veteran hurler was stung by the long ball, allowing a solo shot in the first inning and a two-run homer as part of a four-run second. He then settled down to blank the Cubs over his final three innings of work but the damage had already been done. Mahle will take a 10-4 record, 3.78 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and 160 strikeouts into his next start, which is scheduled to come against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Thu Jul 29 202106:54Tyler Mahle Picks Up Eighth Win
Cincinnati Reds right-hander Tyler Mahle turned in an excellent outing in an 8-2 win over the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday. Mahle tossed six scoreless innings, scattering five hits, striking out two, and walking one to pick up the win. While he strangely didn't rack up many strikeouts against a Cubs lineup that has the highest strikeout rate in the league against right-handed pitching, fantasy gamers will take the win. Mahle's record improves to 8-3, to go along with a 3.71 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, and 133 strikeouts over 111 2/3 innings of work. Mahle will face off against the Minnesota Twins next time through the rotation. He needs to stay active in fantasy lineups for that contest.
