Wed Sep 1 202121:27Kyle Freeland Exits Early With Left Hip Impingement
Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Kyle Freeland was given a no-decision on Wednesday after walking a pair of batters and striking out one over one-plus inning. He made it through the first inning without issues, although he did walk a batter. He then came back out for the second inning and walked the first batter he faced before exiting early. That run came around to score and his injury was later described as a left hip impingement by the team. The move to take him out of the game was precautionary in nature but it's unclear if he'll be able to make his next start or not. The 28-year-old southpaw owns a 4.22 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, and 81:25 K/BB ratio over 91 2/3 innings (18 starts) on the year.

Sun Aug 22 202111:36Kyle Freeland Strikes Out 10 In No-Decision
Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Kyle Freeland took a no-decision on Saturday when he allowed two runs on six hits with one walk and 10 strikeouts over seven innings in a 5-2 win over the D-Backs. Freeland was locked in on Saturday, keeping the D-Backs off the scoreboard until the fifth inning. Daulton Varsho knocked a solo home run and Ketel Marte picked up an RBI single in that frame but Freeland remained in the game and went all the way into the seventh. He was in line for the loss until the Rockies tied the game in the bottom of the eighth. His 10 strikeouts were a season-high and the stellar effort lowered his season ERA to 4.25 with a 1.38 WHIP and 73 strikeouts over 84 2/3 innings (16 starts). He gets the Dodgers on the road in his next turn.

Sun Aug 15 202112:59Kyle Freeland Limits The Giants In Win
Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Kyle Freeland earned the win on Saturday when he surrendered one run on five hits with two walks and six strikeouts in a 4-1 win over the Giants. Freeland was in control in this one, limiting the pesky Giants offense over his six innings of work. Donovan Solano singled in a run in the bottom of the second but that was the only real damage caused. Freeland has looked much better over the last month after getting off to a rocky start this season. He's recorded a quality start in 6-of-8 games and now owns a 4.40 ERA, 1.42 WHIP, and 63:22 K/BB ratio over 77 2/3 innings. He'll get the Diamondbacks at home in his next turn and should be in play as a streamer in that one.

Sun Aug 8 202118:28Kyle Freeland Grabs The Win On Sunday
Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Kyle Freeland earned the win on Sunday when he allowed four runs on seven hits with one walk and six strikeouts over five innings in a 13-8 win over the Marlins. Freeland allowed an RBI single in the first inning before settling in over the next three innings. He didn't allow another run until the fifth when he surrendered a pair of RBI doubles to Jesus Aguilar and Lewis Brinson, respectively. Luckily for Freeland, the Rockies provided plenty of run support so he was able to secure his third win of the season. He now owns a 4.65 ERA, 1.44 WHIP, and 57:20 K/BB ratio over 71 2/3 innings (14 starts). He'll square off against the Giants on the road in his next turn and could be streamed in that game.

Wed Aug 4 202101:00Kyle Freeland Pitches Well, Exits Early
Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Kyle Freeland earned the win on Tuesday when he allowed two runs on four hits with no walks and five strikeouts over five innings in a 13-6 win over the Cubs. Freeland allowed just two runs over the first five frames by giving up an RBI groundout to Jason Heyward and a solo home run to Ian Happ. He was in line to pick his fourth straight quality start but he took a comebacker off his foot in the fifth inning and didn't come back out for the sixth. The team later described the injury as a "left foot contusion". It was a shame he left early as he had only thrown 66 pitches but he was still able to pick up the win. The 28-year-old now owns a 4.46 ERA, 1.43 WHIP, and 51:19 K/BB ratio over 66 2/3 innings (13 starts). He should be good to go for his next start at home against the Marlins this weekend.

Colorado Rockies starting pitcher Kyle Freeland took the loss on Thursday when he allowed one run on eight hits with one walk and four strikeouts over six innings in a 3-0 shutout loss to the San Diego Padres. Freeland ran into a little trouble in the first inning, culminating in an RBI double from Fernando Tatis Jr. but that would be the only run he would allow all game. The Padres hit him around a bit and had nine men reach base but Freeland was able to keep them off the scoreboard. The 28-year-old southpaw has a sterling 1.98 ERA and 1.07 WHIP over his last 41 innings (seven starts). Overall, he's got a 4.52 ERA, 1.48 WHIP, and 46:19 K/BB ratio over 61 2/3 innings (12 starts) on the year. He'll face the Cubs at home in his next turn and should be on the streaming radar for that one.
