The Detroit Tigers placed catcher/outfielder Eric Haase (abdomen) on the 10-day injured list on Thursday due to a right abdominal strain. The move is retroactive to August 16 as Haase had sat out the team's last three games due to the injury. The Tigers traded for veteran catcher Dustin Garneau on Wednesday and he is making his first start with the Tigers on Thursday. Grayson Greiner will be the team's primary catcher while Haase is out while Garneau will serve as the backup. Haase has had a fantastic year so far with 19 home runs over just 70 games. He's worth stashing in an IL spot if you have space.

Haase came up with the bases loaded and the Tigers trailing 5-1 in the ninth inning. He went on to hit his first career grand slam and 17th home run of the year in the at-bat. The Tigers eventually won the game in 11 innings. The grand slam was Haase's only hit of the day as he went 1-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts.
