RHP Randall Delgado (right elbow inflammation) felt good after throwing off flat ground on Thursday, according to manager Torey Lovullo. Delgado has been out since July 15 with the injury. He is 1-2 with a 3.59 ERA in 26 games this season.

RHP Randall Delgado, on the 10-day disabled list with an inflamed elbow, is about midway through a throwing program, according to manager Torey Lovullo. He is currently throwing seven to nine minutes from a maximum distance of 105 feet. "He says every time he goes out there, he feels good," Lovullo said. Delgado (1-2, 3.59 ERA with five starts in 26 games) last pitched July 15, allowing four runs in 2/3 inning against the Atlanta Braves.

After that, RHP Zack Greinke (8-4) pitches Monday vs. the Phillies, with Walker (6-3), Zack Godley (3-1) and Patrick Corbin (6-7) starting in that order against the Cardinals beginning Tuesday, Robbie Ray, who opposed the Phillies on Saturday night, will start the first game of the Colorado series on Friday.

"I'm pretty happy to stay," said Delgado, who has been used almost exclusively in relief since 2013. "I don't know how long it is going to be. I'm just trying to do my job." Delgado is 1-1 with a save and a 3.24 ERA in 18 appearances. He made four starts in 2014 and one in 2015.

RHP Randall Delgado (1-1) pitched well Saturday but was overshadowed by his Miami Marlins counterpart, Edinson Volquez, who threw a no-hitter. Delgado allowed six hits, one walk and one run in 5 1/3 innings. The only run he allowed occurred in the fourth, and you can blame a leadoff walk to Giancarlo Stanton. After that, Delgado gave up two singles -- and the second one barely got over the infield.

"We feel like Randall did a really good job, and we know that we can build on that pitch count. I think it was 60 pitches, so we can add 10 to 15 more pitches and see where that takes him."

The D-backs are unsure whether Delgado will be needed for more than one start.

Delgado has a 4.79 ERA in 12 games, but has thrown 20 2/3 innings. "For us inside of that clubhouse, we know that he's been very dependable. A couple of rocky outings early, but has really found his way," Lovullo said. "What I'm seeing is him repeating deliveries, a very aggressive fastball ... and then off of that he's throwing some quality secondary stuff."
