(AP) — Closer Alex Colome and All-Star designated hitter/outfielder Corey Dickerson are among seven players who agreed to one-year contracts with the Tampa Bay Rays, avoiding salary arbitration.Infielders Matt Duffy and Brad Miller, outfielder Steven Souza, Jr., catcher Jesus Sucre and relief pitcher Dan Jennings also reached terms before Friday's deadline for players and teams to exchange proposed salaries for next season.Pitcher Jake Odorizzi and shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria are Tampa Bay's only arbitration-eligible players who didn't agree to deals. Odorizzi's case set to be settled by an arbiter for the second straight winter.The 27-year-old right-hander won his arbitration case last February, receiving a raise from $520,700 to $4.1 million. LHP Dan Jennings continues to struggle since the Rays acquired him in a July 27 trade with the White Sox. He surrendered a three-run homer to Eric Hosmer in the seventh inning that hiked the Royals' lead to four runs. "He's a big leaguer," Rays manager Kevin Cash said. "He'll get over it. He's taken lumps just like everybody else has. We all have taken lumps playing this game. Sometimes they come in bunches and it stinks to sit there and go through it. But, he'll get through it. You know what, there might be something to be said for him going back out there and getting that inning, getting some pitches under his belt, feeling good about maybe a sinker or breaking ball, whatever it is, to help him get going."

LHP Dan Jennings threw two pitches Sunday and the second one left the yard, tying the game in the eighth inning and costing Chris Archer a win. How rare was that? It is the first time in Jennings' 296 career games that he's allowed the only batter he's faced to launch a homer. Jennings had put together seven straight scoreless outings before Sunday.

LHP Dan Jennings worked two innings Friday night, the final two, as the White Sox sought to get him back on track. Jennings had an ERA approaching five entering the game and helped it just marginally when he allowed a run in his two-inning stint.

CF Desmond Jennings seems to enjoy hitting away from home. He had a .582 slugging percentage away from Tampa Bay during his team's last 19 road games and added more punch Sunday with a solo homer.

Jennings (neck) was activated from the disabled list Wednesday.

Jennings tossed six innings in a rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte, allowing two runs over the frames. He will rejoin the bullpen upon his activation, while Junior Guerra was optioned to Charlotte to open up a spot on the 25-man roster.

Jennings last pitched in a game June 4, so his rehab assignment probably won't last long, unless the White Sox want him to use a stint in the minors to work out some of his issues. After posting a 1.34 ERA in 40.1 innings last season, Jennings owns a 7.83 ERA through 23 innings this year, due in large part to his inability to throw strikes (5.9 BB/9). He does have a 63.8 percent ground-ball rate, and his 53.8 percent strand rate will inevitably improve. Of course, last season's success was largely the result of an unsustainable 88.2 percent strand rate. His 2013 campaign with the Marlins -- 3.76 ERA, 8.4 K/9, 3.5 BB/9 -- probably paints the most accurate picture of his true skill level.

Jennings was placed on the 15-day disabled list Sunday with neck inflammation, Doug Padilla of ESPN Chicago reports.

The White Sox called up minor-league journeyman Junior Guerra to replace Jennings in the bullpen. Over 22 appearances spanning 23 innings, Jennings prodcued a 7.83 ERA and 1.73 WHIP to go along with a 21:15 K:BB ratio. He likely won't be a significant loss for the White Sox.

Jennings struck out one in a perfect inning against the Indians on Tuesday.

Jennings has been the White Sox's third most popular reliever this season, with his 15 appearances trailing only setup man Zach Duke and closer David Robertson. However, Jennings has walked as many batters as those two guys combined (11), and he lacks the the strikeout numbers to obtain value in most fantasy formats. His ERA is a bit inflated by three poor outings, but such is life as a middle reliever.

Jennings struck out two Indians in a scoreless inning Wednesday to earn his second hold of the season.

This was already Johnson's fourth appearance for the White Sox in just over a week of play. He has been used in both setup and mopup situations, and he could become one of manager Robin Ventura's favorite bullpen toys.

Jennings was traded to the White Sox on Thursday in exchange for Andre Rienzo.

Jennings owns an impressive 2.43 ERA over 100 major league innings, but his career 1.46 WHIP is mildly concerning. He will likely slot in as the second left-hander out of the White Sox's bullpen behind Zach Duke.

Jennings (concussion) was reinstated from the 15-day disabled list Monday.

The Marlins waited to activate Jennings until the rosters expanded in September. He will join Carter Capps as the two players giving the club extra arms in the bullpen while the Marlins chase their slim playoff hopes.

Jennings (concussion) is expected rejoin the Marlins when rosters expand on Sept. 1, the Miami Herald reports.

Jennings sustained a concussion back on Aug. 7 after taking a line drive to the head but has made solid progress since, appearing in four games for High-A Jupiter during his rehab. Jennings holds a sparkling 1.03 ERA in 35 innings pitched this season for the Marlins.

Jennings (concussion) tossed a scoreless inning for the Gulf Coast League Marlins in his return the mound Tuesday.

Jennings concussion symptoms subsided a few days after he was struck by a line drive on Aug. 7 and has begun working his way back on a rehab assignment. He struck out one and walked a batter during the effort and should be back with the team in the coming days.

Jennings has not dealt with any concussion symptoms since being struck on the head by a line drive Aug. 7, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.

Jennings was bothered by headaches for a couple days after being struck, but he has not shown any sensitivity to noise are light since, and has even been able to work out the last couple days. He is eligible to be activated from the disabled list Friday, but it remains to be seen if he will return that day.

Jennings rejoined the Marlins on Monday and was examined by team doctors as he continues to recover from a concussion sustained on August 7, the Miami Herald reports.

Currently on the 7-day disabled list, Jennings remains a "ways away from doing any baseball activities," according to Manager Mike Redmond, but he's making steady improvement since taking a line-drive to the head against the Pirates last week. Baseball aside, it is nice to see Jennings out of the hospital and back with his teammates following the incident.
