Fri Mar 17 202311:59Freddie Freeman Expected To Play Saturday
The Los Angeles Dodgers' plan is for first baseman Freddie Freeman (hamstring) to serve as the designated hitter for Saturday's Cactus League game and then play first base on Sunday. Freeman was pulled from Team Canada's game in the World Baseball Classic earlier this week with a tweaked right hamstring, but it was a precautionary measure and he's fully expected to be ready for Opening Day. The 33-year-old left-handed slugger is back in camp with the Dodgers now and should be back in the Cactus League lineup this weekend, barring a setback on Friday. Freeman is one of baseball's best all-around first baseman and resides in one of the league's best lineups. He's an elite fantasy first baseman.

Wed Mar 15 202320:02Dodgers Not Concerned About Freddie Freeman
Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said he has "no concern at all" that first baseman Freddie Freeman (hamstring), who suffered a right hamstring injury while playing for Team Canada in the World Baseball Classic on Tuesday, won't be ready for Opening Day. "We expect him to be in a game sooner rather than later," Roberts said. It's great news, but Freeman is done with the 2023 WBC for Canada and will now focus on getting back into a Cactus League game for LA. The 33-year-old's hamstring injury is considered mild, but the Dodgers will take a cautious approach with Opening Day still several weeks away. Freeman is RotoBaller's second-ranked fantasy first baseman heading into his second year with the Blue.

Wed Mar 15 202314:27Freddie Freeman Out Of WBC Lineup Wednesday
Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman (hamstring) is officially out of Team Canada's lineup in the World Baseball Classic against Team Mexico on Wednesday, as expected. "He's out of this tournament for now. The Dodgers decided that. He's over in camp right now getting looked at by the doctors and training staff," Canada manager Ernie Whitt said. Freeman left the game early on Tuesday due to hamstring tightness, and the Dodgers understandably aren't going to take any chances with their All-Star first baseman. At this point, it's likely that the 33-year-old left-handed slugger will not play again in the WBC this year. Fantasy managers will just be hoping he'll be ready for Opening Day, which remains to be seen.

Wed Mar 15 202300:06Freddie Freeman Day-To-Day With Hamstring Injury
Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman (hamstring) exited Tuesday's World Baseball Classic 5-0 win over Team Columbia with a slight hamstring issue. Freeman was removed from the game in the bottom of the fourth inning after gingerly running to first base on a pop-fly out in the third. The specific hamstring was not specified. Team Canada manager Ernie Whitt said after the game that Freeman's removal was precautionary and that he is not expected to play Wednesday against Team Mexico. Freeman has been swinging a hot bat this spring and is a top fantasy option, so it is fortunate that this sounds like a minor issue. Fantasy managers should be on the lookout for updates in the coming days.

Tue Mar 14 202313:30Freddie Freeman Has Three Homers This Spring
Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman, who is also playing for Team Canada in the World Baseball Classic, was hitting .353 (6-for-17) with two doubles, three home runs, eight RBI and four runs scored in seven Cactus League games before he departed for the WBC. The six-time All-Star slashed .325/.407/.511 with a .918 OPS. He led the league in plate appearances (708), runs scored (117), hits (199) and doubles (47) while also hitting 21 home runs, driving in 100 runs and stealing a career-high 13 bases in 159 games in his first year in LA. The 33-year-old should be more comfortable in his second year with the Blue and is RotoBaller's second-ranked fantasy first baseman, behind only Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

Sat Sep 24 202218:48Freddie Freeman Scratched Due To Illness
Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman (illness) was scratched from the starting lineup Saturday due to an illness. There is a chance that this illness is also the reason he missed yesterday's game, but since he was originally in the lineup today it seems like he is progressing towards a return to the lineup soon. It is unfortunate timing for fantasy managers who are in head-to-head playoffs this week, but for those playing next week he should be able to contribute. Freeman has been otherworldly once again this season, batting .328 with 20 homers, 110 runs, 94 RBI, and 12 steals to top it off. He was well worth his late first/early second round pick.

Fri Sep 23 202218:37Freddie Freeman Taking A Seat Friday
Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman is not in the starting lineup Friday against the St. Louis Cardinals. It is just a routine day off for Freeman, who has only missed one game this season prior to Friday's contest. With the Dodgers set to clinch the top seed soon, expect the team to give their regulars quite a bit of rest heading into the postseason. Freeman has been tremendous all season, but has pushed his game to another level as of late. In September, he is slashing .347/.455/.542 with four homers, 18 runs, and 13 RBI. Obviously, fantasy managers in daily leagues will want to get him back in their lineup tomorrow, assuming he plays. He will be a borderline first-round pick again next season.

Sun Sep 11 202200:52Freddie Freeman Collects Four RBI In Win
Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman had a nice night at the dish on Saturday as he picked up four RBI in his club's 8-4 win over the Padres. He finished the night going 4-for-5 with a run scored as he finished the evening being just a triple shy of the cycle to take his batting average to .330 on the year. He now leads the majors in that category to go along with 19 HR, 102 R, 90 RBI, and 11 steals for good measure. Freeman has more than lived up to his draft-day cost and should keep producing terrific numbers the rest of the way.

Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman has been added to the 2022 National League All-Star roster as a replacement for New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte, who will be inactive for Tuesday's game in Los Angeles. Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman delivered another superlative performance Tuesday, with his second consecutive four-hit game. Freeman made five trips to the plate and produced a home run, a double, and two RBI after managing a similar line on Monday. He now has an .897 OPS with 12 homers and seven steals on the year, and while fantasy managers may wish he was offering more power, there aren't many players who contribute more across the board.
