Mon Dec 5 202214:54Luis Arraez Could Be Traded This Offseason
According to an article from The Athletic's Dan Hayes on Monday morning, Minnesota Twins infielder "Luis Arraez could be traded this offseason, but only in the right deal, according to sources familiar with the team's thinking." Hayes also wrote the following in the article: "With few, if any, untouchables on the 40-man roster, some in the organization believe the Twins would deal Arraez if it helped bring back a top-tier starting pitcher." Arraez enjoyed an excellent season for the American League Central club and fantasy managers alike in 2022, batting .316 with a .375 on-base percentage, eight home runs, and four stolen bases in 603 plate appearances. He also added 88 runs scored and 49 RBI on the season.

Tue Oct 4 202216:49Luis Arraez Back In Lineup Against White Sox
Minnesota Twins second baseman Luis Arraez (hamstring) is back in the starting lineup on Tuesday against the Chicago White Sox and right-hander Lucas Giolito, serving as the designated hitter and batting leadoff as he chases the American League batting title. Arraez is back in the lineup after missing the last two games with a hamstring injury, but he's good enough to return as the DH on Tuesday. The 25-year-old is in the midst of a seven-game hitting streak and currently leads the league with a .315 batting average (171-for-542). Arraez also has a .372 on-base percentage, eight home runs, 49 RBI, 86 runs scored and four stolen bases in 596 plate appearances over 142 games this year. Get him back into your lineups.

Mon Oct 3 202220:09Luis Arraez Still Out Monday
Minnesota Twins second baseman Luis Arraez (hamstring) remains out of the starting lineup on Monday against the Chicago White Sox. The 25-year-old left-handed hitter has done nothing but hit in 2022, slashing .315/.372/.419 with eight homers, 49 RBI, 86 runs and four stolen bases in 542 at-bat. Nick Gordon is getting the start at the keystone on Monday and is hitting third against White Sox right-hander Johnny Cueto. Fri Sep 16 202216:47Luis Arraez Returns Friday
Minnesota Twins second baseman Luis Arraez (hamstring) is back in the starting lineup on Friday against the Cleveland Guardians and right-hander Triston McKenzie, serving as the designated hitter and batting leadoff. Arraez didn't start Thursday's game after leaving Wednesday's contest early with hamstring tightness, but he's back in there on Friday for the start of a weekend series against Cleveland. The 25-year-old Venezuelan native doesn't bring a ton of power, but he's still plenty useful in fantasy. He currently leads the league with a .320 batting average, and he's also sporting a .380 on-base percentage, .812 OPS, eight home runs, 46 RBI, 79 runs scored and a stolen base in 128 games. Thu Sep 15 202219:09Luis Arraez Not Starting Against Royals
Minnesota Twins second baseman Luis Arraez (hamstring) is not in the starting lineup on Thursday against the Kansas City Royals. Arraez was forced to leave Wednesday's game early with hamstring tightness, but he's considered day-to-day after an MRI exam showed no structural damage. He won't start on Thursday, but he could be available off the bench and could be back in the starting lineup as soon as Friday. With Arraez starting on the bench, Jermaine Palacios will start at the keystone and hit eighth, while Kyle Garlick is serving as the designated hitter and is batting leadoff against Royals left-hander Daniel Lynch. Garlick profiles as a deep sleeper in DFS. He's hitting .254 (18-for-71) and has hit six of his nine home runs against southpaws in 2022.

Kyle Garlick replaced him during the second inning. Arraez is deemed questionable for the series finale against the Royals.

Sat Aug 20 202213:28Luis Arraez Goes Deep Friday
Minnesota Twins infielder Luis Arraez continued his excellent season Friday, hitting a solo home run in three at-bats with a walk to help the team to a 2-1 win over the Texas Rangers. It's Arraez's seventh long ball of the season. He has slashed .344/.385/.492 in August, and by OPS he is the Twins' best hitter on the season. Arraez should be rostered everywhere, but he is of the most value to fantasy managers in points and sabermetrically-oriented formats due to his excellent bat-to-ball and on-base skills.

Sun Jul 31 202223:50Luis Arraez Homers Sunday
Minnesota Twins infielder Luis Arraez went deep Sunday, knocking his sixth home run of the year in a 3-2 loss to the San Diego Padres. It was his only hit in four trips to the plate. Arraez last homered on July 16. He now has a .333/.403/.440 slash line with 56 runs scored, 34 RBI, and two steals in 374 plate appearances this season. While he doesn't offer all that much upside outside of batting average in category leagues, Arraez is a much stronger option in points formats with his contact-based approach.

Minnesota Twins infielder Luis Arraez is getting the day off on Saturday against the Texas Rangers. The 25-year-old is getting a well-deserved day of rest against left-hander Martin Perez. Arraez is having a phenomenal season, slashing .352/.425/.456 with four home runs, 29 RBI, and two stolen bases over 281 at-bats. He leads all of MLB in batting average and is just two points shy of Paul Goldschmidt for the league lead in OBP.

Thu Jun 9 202218:19Luis Arraez Back In Action Against Yankees
Minnesota Twins infielder Luis Arraez (shoulder) is starting at first base and is hitting leadoff on Thursday against New York Yankees right-hander Gerrit Cole. Arraez got the day off on Wednesday due to right shoulder tightness, but he'll be back in there a day later for the Twins. The 25-year-old Venezuelan has gone 8-for-18 (.444) with no home runs and an RBI in the last five games in the past week and is hitting .361/.448/.410 overall with an .858 OPS, one home run, 13 RBI, 30 runs scored and two stolen bases in 48 games. Arraez won't provide fantasy managers with much power, but he gets on base and makes consistent contact. The matchup against Cole isn't great for those setting DFS lineups.

Wed Jun 8 202208:45Luis Arraez Could Be Available Off The Bench On Wednesday
Minnesota Twins second baseman Luis Arraez (shoulder) was removed from Tuesday's game against the New York Yankees due to right shoulder tightness. After the game, Twins manager Rocco Baldelli didn't express much concern about the injury. He stated that Arraez has dealt with similar shoulder issues in the past and that this recent injury is milder than previous ones. The Twins will be facing left-hander Nestor Cortes on Wednesday, so Arraez will be on the bench to begin the game. He will be undergoing treatment on Wednesday and if he responds well to it, then there's a chance he'll be available off the bench for the game.

Minnesota Twins second baseman Luis Arraez (shoulder) exited Tuesday's game against the Yankees with right shoulder tightness, per The Athletic's Dan Hayes. He went 2-for-4 with two singles before exiting. Jose Miranda came in to replace Arraez. He should be considered day-to-day until more is known. Miranda, who has gotten off to a hot start in June may see more playing time if Arraez needs to miss any time.

Thu May 5 202220:54Dylan Bundy, Luis Arraez Test Positive For COVID-19
Minnesota Twins pitcher Dylan Bundy and infielder Luis Arraez tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday. Jayce Tingler also tested positive for the virus. Bundy, Arraez, and Tingler are expected to be placed on the injured list and will quarantine away from the team. Bundy's next scheduled start on Wednesday against the Houston Astros is up in the air, and he will have to clear MLB protocols before returning to the team. Arraez and Tingler will be away from the team and be eligible to return once they clear protocols. Jose Miranda should see an uptick in at-bats while Arraez is out. Miranda is off to a slow start and is hitting .077 (1-for-13) in his big league career.

Sun May 1 202212:06Luis Arraez The Twins Primary First Baseman
Minnesota Twins infielder Luis Arraez, who has never played first base before this season, is now ostensibly the team's primary first baseman with Miguel Sano (knee) banged up and possibly requiring a trip to the injured list after being pulled from Saturday's game with knee issues. Gio Urshela and catcher Gary Sanchez could also be possibilities to play first base, while Jose Godoy is getting work there on Sunday. Arraez is starting at the cold corner and is hitting ninth on Sunday against Tampa Bay Rays left-hander Josh Fleming with Sano out. Sano is sitting out for the fourth time in the last five games. On top of the injury, he's hitting just .093 with one home run and three RBI in his 17 games played. Arraez's fantasy stock is on the rise, and he's also hitting .317 (20-for-63) with a homer and seven RBI in 70 plate appearances.

Sat Sep 25 202116:31Luis Arraez Not Starting Saturday
Minnesota Twins infielder Luis Arraez isn't in the lineup on Saturday for a matchup with the Toronto Blue Jays and left-hander Robbie Ray. The infielder is batting .284 with a .353 on-base percentage, two home runs, and two stolen bases in 451 plate appearances this season. It'll be Jorge Polanco starting at shortstop and batting second against the Blue Jays. Arraez has been productive, but with Polanco and Josh Donaldson on the roster in Minnesota, he hasn't been starting regularly as of late. The 24-year-old has started just four of the Twins' last eight games. It's a situation to keep an eye on for fantasy managers in the season's final games.

Sun Sep 5 202117:25Luis Arraez Collects Three Hits, Two RBI Sunday
Minnesota Twins infielder/outfielder Luis Arraez went 3-for-5 with a pair of RBI in Sunday's win over the Rays. Arraez delivered a two-run single in the second inning, then rapped a pair of base hits to cap off his ninth game of the season with at least three hits. He was 0-for-9 to start September, so this was a welcome sight for fantasy managers who roster the .298 hitter. Arraez has set a new career-high in RBIs and walks, and is on pace to best his previous marks in runs scored and hits. He makes for a solid points league asset, given his miniscule 10.4 percent strikeout rate.

Sat Aug 21 202123:57Luis Arraez Swipes A Base Saturday
Minnesota Twins utility man Luis Arraez swiped his second base of the season against the New York Yankees Saturday. He also went 1-for-4 with a single. Arraez has had a strong last 30 games, slashing .356/.409/.452, but it's not enough to make him worthy of a roster spot in fantasy when he has just two homers and two steals in 308 at-bats on the year. He's also cooled down considerably over his last seven games, with a .602 OPS in that shorter span.

Sat Aug 7 202114:19Luis Arraez Absent From Saturday's Lineup
Minnesota Twins infielder/outfielder Luis Arraez (knee) is absent from the lineup for Saturday's contest against Houston. Arraez left Friday's game early after injuring his right knee while attempting to make a play in the field, though the team considers him day-to-day with right knee tightness. It's not surprising to see him on the bench Saturday, considering he only just returned from a right knee strain. Jorge Polanco will start at second with Willians Astudillo slotted in as the third baseman Saturday. Polanco should be a staple in DFS lineups right now, riding a 10-game hitting streak with four home runs and eight RBI in that span.
