Nuno gave up two runs on three hits and four walks with six strikeouts in five innings Wednesday against the Twins.
His pitch count was at 105 after five innings, otherwise he could have probably logged a couple more frames in his final start of the season. As a below-average major league starter, even as a lefty, Nuno will certainly see some starts next season, but he's unlikely to ever be so good that his team isn't looking to upgrade his spot in the rotation.

Nuno didn't receiver a decision Thursday after allowing three runs on eight hits and a walk over 5.1 innings in Colorado. He struck out seven.
Hey, that's about as decent a start as you can ask for from a guy like Nuno in Coors Field. He still remains winless in 13 starts for Arizona despite posting a respectable 3.78 ERA and 1.07 WHIP since coming over from the Yankees.

Nuno (0-6) gave up six runs on eight hits in five innings on Friday against the Padres in taking the loss.
Since being traded by the Yankees, Nuno is still searching for his first victory for the Diamondbacks. He's pitched well to this point, but it was only a matter of time before he cracked. Nuno next takes the mound on Thursday against the Rockies.

Nuno (0-5) pitched seven strong innings against the Dodgers on Friday night, but ended up being the tough-luck loser as he gave up two runs on seven hits while striking out five hitters.
At some point you would expect Nuno to "luck" himself into a win with the way he's been pitching for the Diamondbacks. He tossed 113 pitches (78 strikes) and kept 11 of his 16 outs on the ground. Nuno carries a 3.16 ERA since being traded from the Yankees.

Nuno (0-4) pitched eight excellent innings on Saturday against the Rockies, as he allowed one run on only two hits while striking out seven hitters.
It was a tough-luck loss for Nuno who is still looking for his first win since being traded to the Diamondbacks at the end of July. Nuno had excellent control as he didn't allow a walk all game, while keeping Rockies hitters in check with only two hits one of which was a home run to Matt McBride. The Diamondbacks youngster takes the mound next Thursday in San Diego.

Nuno pitched into the eighth, allowing two hits and two earned runs, while striking out four and walking two against the Padres on Saturday.
Nuno has yet to win a game since being traded from the New York Yankees to Arizona for Brandon McCarthy on July 6. Though he pitched a quality game on Saturday, Nuno is still winless in his last 10 starts.

Nuno did not record a decision Monday against the Nationals as he pitched seven innings and allowed two runs, five hits and two walks to go along with seven strikeouts.
Nuno has pitched much better since being traded to Arizona as he has allowed two earned runs or less in five of his eight starts with the team. He has been providing solid strikeout totals as well as he has at least five strikeouts in four of his last five starts.

Nuno allowed two runs on six hits and no walks while striking out six in 5.2 innings in the Diamondbacks' 3-2 loss to the Indians in Game 1 of a doubleheader Wednesday.
Nuno got the no-decision in the game. After allowing five runs in his last start, Nuno recorded his highest strikeout total since July 8 en route to the strong start. The start moved his ERA to 3.92 with the team. He's the second-ranked starter for the Diamondbacks' rotation per seven starts.

Nuno allowed five runs on seven hits while striking out one in four innings in the Diamondbacks' 6-2 loss to the Royals on Thursday.
Nuno took the loss, his third with the Diamondbacks. Nuno has not earned a win since June 27, when he was with the Yankees. The five-run outing bumped his ERA to 5.01 on the season. One strikeout is also the lowest he's recorded in a game since May.

Nuno (3.07 ERA) did not record a decision on Friday facing the Pirates as he allowed one run on three hits over six innings, while striking out five batters.
Since being traded to the Diamondbacks in early July, Nuno has not won a decision. Nuno has pitched well at times, but has also had a couple of stinkers since landing in Arizona. Getting consistent start-to-start numbers from the youngster is unlikely, but he's still a decent option here on out.
Sun Jul 27 201416:35Vidal Nuno registers quality start
Vidal Nuno was charged with four runs -- three earned -- on four hits and three walks over 6 2/3 innings in Sunday's loss to the Phillies.
Nuno was taken deep by Ryan Howard in the first inning -- the 19th longball he's surrendered this season -- but was able to settle down and pitch pretty well the rest of the way. He struck out five Phillies hitters. The former Yankee is winless in four starts for the D'Backs but holds a decent 3.86 ERA and 1.11 WHIP. He'll get the Pirates next weekend.

Tue Jul 22 201400:52Nuno allows 3 Tiger runs in 4 2/3 frames
Vidal Nuno yielded three runs on seven hits over just 4 2/3 innings Monday in a no-decision against the Tigers.
Nuno was lucky it wasn't worse. He gave up two homers, accounting for all three runs on his ledger, but managed to strand runners in every inning except the first (reliever Randall Delgado cleaned up Nuno's two-runner mess in the fifth inning). The newly-acquired left-hander posted a 4.78 ERA across 98 innings the last two seasons for the Yankees, and has looked much the same in three starts in the desert, though he has a fluky 3.78 ERA to show for it. The 26-year-old Nuno takes the mound in Philadelphia this weekend.

Sun Jul 13 201421:30Nuno allows four runs over five in loss to SF
Vidal Nuno allowed four runs over five innings in a loss to the Giants on Sunday.
Nuno held the Marlins scoreless over seven innings in his first start with the Diamondbacks, but he was less effective in his second. The lefty danced around trouble until the fifth inning, when he served up a grand slam to Buster Posey. Nuno walked one and struck out four on the day. He's got a 5.10 ERA and 1.37 WHIP between the Yankees and Diamondbacks, and despite likely being better in the National League, he's still not a factor outside of deep NL-only leagues.

Sat Jul 12 201414:27Vidal Nuno to start for Diamondbacks Sunday
Vidal Nuno will start for the Diamondbacks on Sunday in place of Chase Anderson.
Anderson is being skipped due to the fact that the Diamondbacks want to keep his innings down this season. Nuno hurled seven shutout innings against the Marlins in his D'Backs debut earlier in the week, and is worth a look in deeper mixed and NL-only formats.

Wed Jul 9 201400:20Nuno shuts out Fish for 7 IP in Arizona debut
In his spectacular Diamondbacks debut, Vidal Nuno tossed seven shutout innings Tuesday against the Marlins.
He also scored Arizona's only run, coming around on Aaron Hill's fifth inning single. Acquired from the Yankees in exchange for Brandon McCarthy and cash over the weekend, Nuno dazzled the Arizona faithful in his first outing sporting Sedona red and Sonoran sand. He would have won if Addison Reed hadn't blown a save. The 26-year-old posted a 4.78 ERA across 98 innings the last two seasons for the Yankees, but we think he'll find pitching in the National League a little easier. Overall, Nuno finishes the first half 2-5 with a 4.98 ERA.

Sun Jul 6 201411:45Vidal Nuno acquired by Diamondbacks
Diamondbacks acquired LHP Vidal Nuno from the Yankees in exchange for RHP Brandon McCarthy and cash.
Nuno, 26, has posted a 4.78 ERA across 98 innings the last two seasons for the Yankees. He's under team control for a while and has put up some nice numbers in the minors, but the left-hander isn't more than a back-end starter.

Fri Jun 27 201423:04Vidal Nuno fans five in victory over Red Sox
Vidal Nuno twirled 5 2/3 scoreless innings in Friday's victory over the Red Sox, scattering a pair of hits and walking two while punching out five.
In what has been an extremely disappointing season for Nuno, Friday was one major step in the right direction. He'll look to further improve upon an unsightly 5.42 ERA and 1.40 WHIP when he takes on the Rays at home on Wednesday.

Sat Jun 21 201416:17Nuno hurt by long ball in loss to O's
Vidal Nuno was touched up for five runs (four earned) over 6 1/3 innings in a loss to the Orioles on Saturday.
Nuno gave up six hits (including three home runs) and two walks before being pulled in the seventh inning. He has now allowed 15 home runs in just 67 1/3 innings this year, including 13 at home. Yankees manager Joe Girardi plans to keep him in the rotation for now, but that's probably more because of a lack of options than anything else.

Sun Jun 15 201420:08Nuno blasted for eight runs in loss to A's
Vidal Nuno allowed eight runs on eight hits over three innings in a loss to the A's on Sunday.
Nuno was done in by two big blasts, as he gave up three-run home runs to Derek Norris and Coco Crisp in the first two innings. It's been up and down for the left-hander this season, who now owns a 5.90 ERA and 1.48 WHIP through 61 innings. The Yankees don't seem to possess many better options, so he'll likely be trotted back out Saturday against the Orioles.

Wed Jun 11 201401:15Nuno holds Mariners to 1 run in 5 2/3 frames
Vidal Nuno yielded a mere run over 5 2/3 innings Tuesday in a no-decision against the Mariners.
Nuno received an extra day's rest after Monday's workout, and he appeared refreshed moving through the Mariners' lineup. Of course, Nuno didn't blow anybody away -- that's not his jam. The lefty struck out two, walked one and yielded four hits. He's given up just three runs over his last two outings, but he completed only 10 1/3 frames total in those contests. Nuno is hanging onto AL-only relevance by the skin of his fingernails, but you'd be better off finding a more reliable option. The 26-year-old stays on the West Coast next time out, toeing the rubber in Oakland on Sunday.
