Quackenbush ran into all manner of problems during a 26-pitch appearance, as the Twins fouled off eight offerings total in the frame. After walking one and striking out another, he allowed a stolen base, which induced manager Bud Black to call for an intentional walk of Oswaldo Arcia. With the potential winning run on second base, Quackenbush promptly forced a pop out, before the fateful line drive that forced Amarista to sprawl out in order to corral. Since Huston Street was dealt to the Angels, Quackenbush has taken on higher-leverage situations and appears to be the setup man in San Diego. Despite two holds and a win during that stretch, though, Quackenbush has allowed two runs on six hits and five walks while striking out four in seven innings. | ||||||
