NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Mets have reached one-year deals with starters Jacob deGrom, Noah Syndergaard and Matt Harvey and settled with five other players.Relievers Jeurys Familia, A.J. Ramos and Hansel Robles, catcher Travis d'Arnaud and infielder Wilmer Flores also agreed Friday to one-year contracts and avoided arbitration.Starter Zack Wheeler was the only Mets player who exchanged salary figures with the team. RHP A.J. Ramos (right biceps tendinitis) played catch Tuesday. Manager Terry Collins said Ramos complained of some discomfort after his most recent appearance last Friday. Ramos has allowed three runs and seven hits in just two innings in his last three appearances, a stretch in which he appears to have lost the closer's job to RHP Jeurys Familia. Collins did not say whether or not Ramos would pitch again this season. Ramos is 2-4 with a 4.06 ERA and 27 saves in 60 games between the Mets and Miami Marlins this year.

RHP A.J. Ramos blew a save chance Tuesday against his former team, the Miami Marlins. Trying to get his 100th career save, Ramos imploded. He allowed five hits, one walk and three runs in two-thirds of an inning.

RHP AJ Ramos made his Mets debut in the eighth inning of a blowout loss Sunday, after being acquired late Friday night in a trade with Miami. Ramos allowed two runs on two hits, a walk, a throwing error by 2B Neil Walker and two wild pitches. Ramos, who saved 20 games for the Marlins, told reporters he was surprised to be traded to New York. "I heard all kinds of names and different teams, but I didn't hear the Mets at all," Ramos said. "So when they told me, I had to ask, 'Wait, are you sure?' Then I was like, 'All right, let's go.'"

Now, with his replacement Fernando Rodney struggling, the job may revert back to Ramos, even though manager Don Mattingly is not saying quite yet. Still, Ramos has a career-high 33 saves this season, one more than last year. But he has a 2.25 ERA in the first half of this season and a 4.91 ERA after the All-Star Game, a time frame that coincides with his injury.
