Abad struggled on Tuesday, allowing two homers in 0.1 innings, letting a game that was 3-2 in the ninth when he entered get to 6-2 by the time he exited.
Abad has had a terrible start to 2015, currently posting a 7.36 ERA over his eleven innings. He has now allowed four homers on the years and amazingly, all four of those home runs have been by lefties. After a strong 2014 with a 1.57 ERA, Abad is quickly working himself into some low leverage situations until he can right the ship.
Fri Jan 23 201521:30Abad agreed to one-year contract with A's on Friday
Abad agreed to a one-year contract with the A's on Friday, avoiding arbitration, Joe Stiglich of CSN California reports.
Abad's first season with the A's was a resounding success, as he cut his ERA from 2013 by more than half (to 1.57) and shaved more than 50 points off his WHIP. He gave up just one earned run over the final two months of the season, and will be rewarded accordingly in his first year of arbitration. However, while Abad enjoyed success against both lefties and righties last season, he likely won't be in the mix for saves while Sean Doolittle (shoulder) is out.

Abad continued his fantastic season with two scoreless innings on Wednesday against the Mets.
Abad's ERA now sits a paltry 1.62 on the season with a WHIP of only 0.80. Perhaps Abad's most impressive stat so far this year is that he has allowed exactly zero of 26 inherited runners to score this season.
Sun Jun 8 201416:36Fernando Abad tossed for throwing at Machado
Fernando Abad was ejected from Sunday's game against the Orioles for allegedly throwing at Manny Machado.
With the A's holding a 10-0 lead in the eighth inning, and Manny Machado trying to instigate trouble since the first game of the series, it doesn't take a leap of faith to believe that Abad was indeed throwing at Machado. Both benches wound up clearing after the incident, though no further trouble came from it.

Wed Sep 5 201221:59Fernando Abad knocked around
Fernando Abad was blasted for five runs -- four earned -- on six hits and three walks over just four innings in Wednesday's loss to the Pirates.
He needed 87 pitches to get through the four frames. It's fair to say the Astros' experiment with Abad in the rotation hasn't worked, as he's been drilled for 11 earned runs over just 12 1/3 frames in his first three starts. Assuming he's still in the rotation, he'll face the Cubs next week.

Fri Aug 24 201217:15Astros calling up Abad for Saturday start
The Astros will recall left-hander Fernando Abad from Triple-A Oklahoma City to start Saturday against the Mets.
Abad has never pitched as a starter in the majors, but the rebuilding Astros have plenty of reason to experiment. The 26-year-old southpaw was recently moved into the rotation in Triple-A, posting a 4.50 ERA and 9/3 K/BB in 14 innings over three starts. He shouldn't be trusted in fantasy leagues, even against a struggling Mets squad.
