Kendrick was torched for eight runs (all earned) on eights hits and five walks over five innings to take the loss Saturday against the Cubs.
Suffice to say that Kendrick's first taste of Coors Field didn't go well, as he served up three solo home runs and gave up two additional extra-base hits in his second start of the season. The right-hander usually does a decent job of keeping the ball on the ground (career 46 GB%), but his propensity for yielding contact could nonetheless continue to prove toxic at the MLB's most hitter-friendly ballpark. Dismal outings such as Saturday's could become a common occurrence this season.

Kendrick wowed in his Opening Day start, shutting out the Brewers over seven innings to earn the win Monday.
Kendrick posted a strong 2.45 ERA this spring, and carried over that success by striking out six in his seven innings of work. The former Phillie will look to keep the good times rolling against the Cubs this weekend.

Kendrick will serve as the Rockies' Opening Day starter April 6 against the Brewers, MLB.com reports.
With Jorge De La Rosa battling a groin injury and potentially on track to miss his first turn in the rotation, Kendrick will kick off the 2015 season for the Rockies on the heels of a strong spring training. The right-hander stymied the Diamondbacks during Sunday's Cactus League outing (two hits, one walk, and no runs allowed over four innings), and has posted a 2.45 ERA and 1.27 WHIP in his 11 innings. The Rockies believe that Kendrick's groundball tendencies will enable him to thrive at Coors Field, but his lack of strikeouts and dependence on a low BABIP to find success won't make him an appealing target in fantasy drafts.

Kendrick had a solid outing for the Rockies' split-squad team Tuesday against the Mariners, yielding no runs over two innings while scattering two hits and striking out three batters.
Perhaps more notable than the strikeouts were the three groundball outs Kendrick generated, production that will need to be maintained in order for the right-hander to thrive at Coors Field. Kendrick got off to a rough start to the spring in his Cactus League debut last week, but the Rockies should be encouraged by his swift rebound Tuesday. With the club seemingly content to have stud prospects Eddie Butler and Jon Gray open the season on the farm, Kendrick figures to have a line on a rotation spot.
Tue Feb 3 201517:40Kyle Kendrick: One-Year Deal With Rockies
Kendrick agreed to a one-year, $5.5 million contract with the Rockies on Tuesday, Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports reports.
The right-hander can also earn an additional $500,000 if he reaches 190 innings, a number he surpassed for the first time in 2014. Kendrick hasn't turned in an xFIP under 4.00 in any of his eight major league seasons, and there's very little to suggest a skills breakout could be coming in his age-30 campaign. While he does own a slightly above-average 46.1% groundball rate for his career, Kendrick will make for an unappealing option even in NL-only leagues.

Kendrick filed for free agency on Thursday, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.
Kendrick went 10-13 with a 4.61 ERA and a 121:57 K:BB ratio in 199 innings for the Phillies this season. The Phillies are not expected to make a push to re-sign him.

Kendrick picked up his 10th win of the season Wednesday versus the Marlins, giving up one run on six hits with one walk and two strikeouts over seven innings.
Kendrick ends his season on a high note with a 2.78 ERA in September and allowing one run or fewer in three of his final five starts. Overall, the right-hander owns a 4.61 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 121:57 K:BB ratio on the year.

Kendrick (9-13) took the loss Thursday in San Diego, allowing six hits, five walks and three runs in five innings. He struck out two.
While Kendrick turns in a solid start here and there, poor outings like this are all too common. His stats this year are pretty much in line with his career numbers, which are those of a subpar pitcher. And yet the Phillies have been loyally rolling him out there since 2007.
Sun Sep 14 201406:24Kendrick picked up ninth win of season Saturday over Marlins
Kendrick picked up his ninth win of the season Saturday over the Marlins. He allowed one run on seven hits over 6.1 innings.
Kendrick struck out six and walked one in what was probably his last start for the Phillies in Citizens Bank Park. He is a free agent after this season, and his next two starts will come on the road. He has won four of his last five starts.

Kendrick struggled in a losing effort Monday, allowing five runs in seven innings against the Pirates.
Kendrick has done a good job giving the Phillies length in his starts, but the results haven't been perfect. The righty has allowed at least four runs in five of his last six starts. Kendrick will try to limit the damage against him this weekend in a start against the Marlins.

Kendrick shut out the Braves on Tuesday, tossing seven innings of three-hit ball. He also walked two and fanned four in the win.
Sometimes having trouble finding the zone can work to a pitcher's benefit, as was the case with Kendrick in this one as he managed less than half of his pitches (55-of-101) for strikes, while only getting ahead of batters with 12-of-26 first-pitch strikes. Nonetheless, he got the job done and now owns an 8-11 record with a 4.77 ERA and 1.35 WHIP through 28 starts (173.2 innings) this season.

Kendrick struck out four and walked one while giving up four runs on seven hits over six innings a winning effort Wednesday.
The victory improved Kendrick's record to 7-11 on the season, but he remains a very risky option for streaming purposes as he's been one of the least valuable starting pitchers in the league over the past calendar year. Kendrick will make his next start on the road Tuesday against the Braves.

Kendrick allowed four runs on eight hits, walking one and striking out four over 6.1 innings of a 4-3 win against the Cardinals on Friday night.
Kendrick (6-11, 4.93) survived yet another debacle in the first inning (three runs) but settled down and lasted long enough for his mates to rally. He is notoriously bad in the first inning (a 9.69 ERA in the first inning over 26 starts) and could be a serviceable starter if he could overcome that weakness. He'll hope for a better beginning against the Nationals in Philadelphia next time out.

Kendrick allowed four runs, three of which were earned, over five innings Saturday against the Giants. He struck out one and walked two.
Kendrick entered the sixth inning with a 5-1 lead, but failed to retire any of the three batters he faced. He wasn't helped out by his defense, as a catchable pop fly and a poor throw on the same play failed to record one easy out. He was then pulled after a Mike Morse run-scoring double.

Kendrick struggled Sunday against the Mets, giving up 10 hits and six runs (five earned) while walking three and striking out one in five innings, though he didn't factor into the decision.
Kendrick had control issues throughout Sunday's start and gave up back-to-back homers to Lucas Duda and Travis d'Arnaud to lead off the top of the fifth inning. Kendrick, who owns a 4.88 ERA, will be hoping for a more effective outing on Saturday in San Francisco.

Kendrick was efficient Tuesday, giving up one run on five hits while walking one and fanning three in seven innings of a no-decision against the Astros. He also tossed 18-of-25 first-pitch strikes.
This was one of Kendrick's better outings of the season, and the first time he's allowed one run or less since June 12 against the Padres (10 starts prior). Unfortunately for owners hoping for a win, Kendrick really didn't come close after giving up a game-tying single to Jon Singleton in the seventh, as the Phils marched out seven pitchers after him in a 15-inning marathon victory. He now owns a 4.74 ERA with a 1.33 WHIP in 144.1 innings and will face the Mets in his next start Sunday.

Kendrick allowed four runs on seven hits and two walks over six innings Wednesday and took the loss.
While Kendrick wasn't great in his outing, the offense and bullpen didn't help his cause. The Phillies scored just two runs on the day and the bullpen allowed seven runs over the final three innings of the game in what turned out to be a blowout. The loss dropped his record to 5-11 on the season, and his ERA rose to 4.92 after the outing. He was able to get ahead in the count often, throwing first-pitch strikes on 21 of 27 batters, but couldn't finish off batters, allowing nine to reach base on the day. Kendrick's next start is scheduled to come against the Astros next Tuesday.
Fri Jul 25 201422:38Kendrick fans five in victory over D'Backs
Kyle Kendrick picked up his fifth victory of the season on Friday, allowing three runs on six hits over 5 2/3 innings against the Diamondbacks.
Kendrick fanned five on the evening while issuing just one free pass. He was staked to an early six-run lead and cruised through the first five frames before running into trouble in the sixth inning. He left three runners on base, who immediately trotted home when Antonio Bastardo surrendered a grand slam upon entering the game in relief. Kendrick will draw the the Mets in New York his next time out on Wednesday.

Sun Jul 20 201418:45Kendrick battered en route to his 10th loss
Kyle Kendrick's struggles continued on Sunday against the Braves, as he allowed six runs over five innings en route to his 10th loss of the season.
The Philadelphia Inquirer's Matt Gelb noted that Kendrick's 5.30 ERA over the last calendar year is the worst among any starter who has made at least 30 starts in that span of time. The Braves logged five hits, but made them count, as two of them were doubles and one was a Chris Johnson two-run home run. Kendrick also walked two and struck out one. He'll take a 4.87 ERA, 1.35 WHIP, and 77/35 K/BB ratio into Friday's home start against the Diamondbacks.

Kyle Kendrick lucked out with his fourth win of the season despite allowing seven runs in 5 2/3 innings, as the Phillies emerged victorious by a 9-7 score against the Brewers on Tuesday.
Kendrick's first-inning woes continued, as he allowed five on a Scooter Gennett solo home run and a Lyle Overbay grand slam. Following that, the right-hander now has an 11.50 ERA in 18 first innings this season. Overall, Kendrick surrendered 11 hits, walked two, and struck out two. Kendrick will take a 4.46 ERA, a 1.37 WHIP, and a 71/33 K/BB ratio into Sunday's home start against the Nationals to wrap up the first half.
