Kendrick left Friday's game against the Cardinals with right shoulder inflammation, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.

The right-hander struggled in his one inning of work, allowing two runs on four hits, including a leadoff homer to Matt Carpenter. David Hale started for Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday and could be an option to start Wednesday if Kendrick is unable to go.

Kendrick (4-11) yielded six runs on seven hits and three walks over five innings Sunday afternoon against the Reds, but was credited with the win in the Rockies' 17-7 romp.

The fact that Kendrick came away with the win says more about the flaws of that statistic than the performance of the right-hander, who was his typically hittable self. Kendrick served up his MLB-leading 25th homer in the outing and turned in his seventh consecutive non-quality start. Because of the extensive damage he'll cause in the ratio categories and the lack of impact he'll provide in terms of counting numbers, Kendrick probably shouldn't be utilized in NL-only formats, even when the matchup seemingly favors him.

Kendrick allowed six runs (five earned) on 10 hits over just 4.1 innings in taking his 11th loss Tuesday against Texas.

Kendrick's ERA rose to 6.12 as his tire fire of a season continues. He served up his league leading 24th home run to Shin-Soo Choo and has now surrendered at least one home run in 13 of his 19 starts. Kendrick has now served up 10 hits three times this season and his WHIP is now up to a round 1.500.

Kendrick will not return to the mound for Thursday's game after a lengthy rain delay. He threw one scoreless inning with one hit on eight pitches in the outing.

A rain delay lasting over two hours ended Kendrick's night prematurely on Thursday as he was replaced by David Hale on the bump. There is no word at this point on when Kendrick will take the hill again.

Kendrick was touched up for three runs on nine hits over 5.2 innings on Friday against the Diamondbacks, but didn't factor into the decision. He struck out six, hit one batter with a pitch, and walked none.

The outing represented one of Kendrick's better efforts of the season, but the fact that he couldn't even meet the criteria for a quality start illustrates just how porous he's been this season. It's not just a product of pitching at Coors Field, either -- Kendrick is 2-6 with a 5.52 ERA and a .284 batting average against over 10 road starts.

Kendrick was handed his 10th loss of the season Sunday, allowing five runs on eight hits across 5.2 innings against the Giants.

The 30-year-old was in decent shape heading into the sixth inning, but he proceeded to allowed a pair of home runs and was pulled from the game before finishing out the frame. It has been a rough season for Kendrick to say the least, as he has a 6.07 ERA to go along with his 3-10 record, and he will draw a tough matchup at Arizona in his next start Friday.

Kendrick improved to 3-9 Tuesday against Arizona as he allowed four runs on eight hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out three.

Kendrick allowed three home runs and has now has allowed four more home runs than any other major league pitcher. Kendrick's ERA rose to 5.96 in the victory and his FIP is an even uglier 6.30.

Kendrick (2-9) gave up seven hits, three walks and four runs while striking out one in five innings against the Astros on Wednesday.

With Thursday's loss, Kendricks fell to 0-4 in six Coors Field starts. After starting the season off with a win, Kendricks has only won once in his past 13 starts. He'll look to snap out of this funk in his next scheduled start Tuesday against Arizona.

Kendrick allowed two runs on seven hits, walking two and striking out four, but was a hard-luck loser as the Rockies fell to Miami 5-1 Friday night.

That's two solid outings against the Marlins in his last two starts, but Kendrick (2-8, 5.87) remains a very risky play at best in any fantasy format.

Kendrick has been very unreliable this season, as his 6.16 ERA will show, and is not a desirable fantasy option at the moment. He will face this same Marlins team Friday on the road.

At this point, it's a surprise when Kendrick doesn't get bombed. In 11 starts this year, he's given up four or more earned runs eight times. The 30-year-old righty is lined up to start against Miami on Saturday, but the Rockies have to be looking for alternatives in the rotation sooner or later.

Kendrick (2-6) picked up a rare win Wednesday despite allowing four runs over 7.1 innings against the Reds. He struck out one and walked one.

Kendrick actually had a good stat line going -- one run in seven innings -- until he let the Reds rally against him in the eighth. Clearly, manager Walt Weiss should have known to quit while he was ahead with Kendrick, considering the righty hadn't gone more than seven innings in a start all year long. He'll get the Dodgers on Monday.

Kendrick saw his season record drop to 1-6 Friday against the Giants, after he gave up four runs on five hits and three walks over 6.1 innings.

Kendrick has done well to work deeper into games his last three times out, and even though he's generally been able to avoid further damage to his ERA, the overall results are uninspiring. The right-hander's pitch-to-contact approach has unsurprisingly kept his strikeout rate at a meager 12.7 percent, which hasn't lent itself to much fantasy utility. Even in NL-only leagues, it's probably wise at this point to keep Kendrick on the bench during weeks he has a start at Coors Field lined up.

Kendrick threw his second consecutive quality start on Sunday, allowing just one run to the Dodgers over eight strong innings in a tough-luck loss.

After a string of rough outings ballooned his ERA to a dismal 8.70 for the year, Kendrick has rebounded to yield just three runs in 14 innings in his last two starts, although he failed to win on either occasion. Kendrick still carries minimal fantasy value and will face the Giants in his next scheduled start on Friday.

Kendrick earned a no-decision Tuesday against the Angels, giving up seven hits but holding them to two earned runs in seven innings.

This was Kendrick's best outing of the season by far. Heading into Tuesday's start, he had allowed one home run in each of his starts, and had allowed four or more runs in all of them. He'll look to continue this turnaround Sunday against the Dodgers.

Kendrick endured yet another rough start on Sunday, giving up six runs on six hits over 5.0 innings against the Padres to earn his fourth loss in his last four decisions.

San Diego scored four runs via the home run, which has been a problem for Kendrick all season. The 30-year-old is now the owner of an ugly 8.73 ERA and will look to right the ship against the Dodgers on Saturday.

Kendrick will start Sunday's game in San Diego, MLB.com's Thomas Harding reports.

Kendrick was originally slated to start Monday against Arizona, but he was moved up a day. This means he will not have two starts next week. Tyler Matzek will start Monday for the Rockies.

Kendrick was roughed up for eight runs on 10 hits and a walk and lasted just 4.1 innings in Tuesday's loss to the Diamondbacks.

The eight earned runs tied a career high for Kendrick, who has been abysmal since tossing seven shutout innings against the Brewers on Opening Day. The right-hander served up two home runs in Tuesday's outing to bring his total allowed on the season to eight, which is the second most of any pitcher in the league. With an 8.36 ERA and 1.78 WHIP over five starts, Kendrick may be forced to transition to a bullpen role if he continues to struggle with locating his cutter in subsequent outings.

Kendrick gave up four runs over seven innings but didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against the Padres.

Kendrick gave up solo homers to Yangervis Solarte and Wil Myers in the outing, but did well for the most part in mitigating the damage in his second appearance of the season at Coors Field. The start represent a vast improvement over the results Kendrick had generated over his previous two turns, though it shouldn't be taken as a sign of what's to come. Opposing batters are hitting .309 against the right-hander this season, and with neither a fluky BABIP (.324) nor a poor strand rate (70.6%) to assign blame, expect Kendrick's ERA and WHIP to remain inflated.

Kendrick never had much of a shot at coming away with the win Friday with reigning Cy Young winner Clayton Kershaw taking the hill for the Dodgers, but the Rockies were hoping he'd at least submit a more competitive effort. After tossing seven shutout innings against the Brewers on Opening Day, Kendrick has since been tagged for 14 runs over his last two turns.
