Mon Feb 27 202316:35Anthony Santander Day-To-Day With Knee Contusion
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Anthony Santander (knee) left the Grapefruit League game early on Monday after he was hit in the left knee/shin area by a pitch in the sixth inning. Santander was able to get up and walk off the field under his own power, but he will not finish the game. He's officially being listed as day-to-day with a knee contusion. The 28-year-old could miss some spring training games this week, but it doesn't sound like an injury that could jeopardize his readiness for Opening Day in late March. Santander set career-highs in home runs (33), RBI (89) and runs scored (78) in 2022 while slashing .240/.318/.455 in a career-high 152 games. He was much better at home and from the right side of the plate as a switch-hitter. Santander is a very interesting power target in fantasy drafts in an improved Baltimore lineup.

Wed Oct 26 202200:45Anthony Santander To Play For Venezuela In WBC
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Anthony Santander will play for Venezuela in the 2023 World Baseball Classic, per Baltimore Sun's Andy Kostka. The 28-year-old should add some pop to their lineup as he did for the O's in 2022, slashing .240/.318/.455 with 33 home runs and 89 RBI. Santander logged career-highs in both HR and RBI hitting in a more competitive lineup, and he should be a fantasy asset once again in 2023. He may even receive a slight fantasy boost if the O's make any off-season moves to bolster their existing lineup.

Mon Sep 13 202112:06Anthony Santander Homers Again Sunday
Baltimore Orioles outfielder Anthony Santander hit his third home run in the last four games in Sunday's 22-7 loss to the Blue Jays. Santander went 1-for-3 with a solo shot, a walk, and a strikeout. He has brought the power lately but his three HR, eight RBI, and .256/.273/.488 slash line in September still isn't all that impressive. The O's have tough matchups this week against the Yankees and Red Sox, so Santander may not be the best waiver wire option even with the HR lately.

Santander hasn't been able to replicate his productive 2020 season, in which he posted a .890 OPS, hitting .247 with 14 HRs and a .438 slugging.
