Cravy will be placed on the disabled list Friday with a shoulder impingement, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Cravy's injury reportedly occurred Thursday, and it was announced Friday that he would be removed from the rotation. It's now been revealed that a shoulder issue may be partially to blame for his struggles, and he'll go on the disabled list. The 26-year-old hurler will be first eligible to return from the disabled list in early September, but it's unclear what role he'll have in a return.
Wed Aug 19 201512:44Cravy removed from Brewers' starting rotation
Cravy has been removed from the Brewers' starting rotation, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Cravy's removal will result in a four-man pitching rotation due to the plethora of upcoming off days for the club. It's possible he'll rejoin the rotation at some point, but he won't serve mush utility for fantasy purposes if he continues to pitch the way his last few outings have gone.

Cravy's winless season continues as he picked up his fifth loss Tuesday against the Marlins. He allowed seven runs (four earned) on seven hits and three walks over 2.2 innings with two strikeouts.
Cravy couldn't miss bats (five swinging strikes) and so even though he gave up two extra-base hits, the Marlins were able to keep parading around the bases. Cravy has looked outmatched in the majors, as he has now allowed 34 hits and a 6.67 ERA in 27 innings with a 18:13 K:BB.

Cravy (0-4) pitched poorly Thursday, giving up four runs on four hits and four walks over 4.1 innings while striking out three in a loss to the Cubs.
Cravy had at least managed to navigate his way through the first four innings in a 1-1 tie, but he gave up the goose in the fifth, allowing back-to-back homers to Dexter Fowler and Kyle Schwarber. The more we see of Cravy, the fewer reasons we find to like him, but at least he gets a friendly matchup against the Marlins his next time out.

Cravy (0-3) took the loss on Friday, allowing six runs on eight hits and two walks over five innings against the Cardinals.
The Cravy train came into the station with hopes of earning a regular place in the Brewers' rotation, but went off the rails during a six-run fifth inning. The rookie has taken the loss in all three of his starts this season and, including a relief appearance, has registered a 5.40 ERA with a meager 5.85 K/9 on the year.
Thu Aug 6 201512:34Cravy will start Friday against Cardinals
Cravy will start Friday against the Cardinals, MLB.com's Adam McCalvy reports.
Cravy will get the first shot at replacing Kyle Lohse (who was moved to the bullpen Thursday) in the Brewers' rotation. The 26-year-old righty had a 3.97 ERA and a 75:31 K:BB ratio in 95.1 innings at Triple-A Colorado Springs before being called up earlier this week. Those are pretty impressive numbers, given the difficult pitching environment, but it's also hard to put too much stock in the production of a 26-year-old minor leaguer. It is best to take a wait-and-see approach with Cravy, especially considering he will be facing the Cardinals in his first big-league start.

Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Tyler Cravy will join the starting rotation Friday against the St. Louis Cardinals, according to MLB.com.
Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Tyler Cravy will join the starting rotation Friday against the St. Louis Cardinals, according to MLB.com. Cravy, who has posted a 3.97 ERA for Triple-A Colorado Springs and a 3.60 ERA in three appearances for Milwaukee, is taking the rotation spot of Kyle Lohse, who was moved to the bullpen.
Wed Aug 5 201500:13Cravy recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs on Tuesday
Cravy was recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs on Tuesday.
Cravy allowed six earned runs over 5.1 innings in his most recent start at Triple-A, but still owns a 3.97 ERA over 17 starts in the Pacific Coast League this season. In his two starts with the Brewers this season, Cravy posted a 3.46 ERA with nine strikeouts in 13 innings of work. The Brewers optioned Preston Guilmet to Triple-A in a corresponding move Tuesday.

Cravy was optioned to Triple-A Colorado Springs on Monday.
With Matt Garza (elbow) ready to return from the disabled list, Cravy will be bumped from the rotation. He has a 3.60 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 9:4 K:BB ratio over 15 innings this season.

Cravy gave up three earned runs on eight hits and one walk with three strikeouts over six innings in his second big league start Tuesday against the Braves.
It wasn't a terrible outing for the 25-year-old righty, as he still qualified for the baseline quality start. However, he was much more successful in his first start in the majors, in part because he did a better job of keeping the ball down. Since the Brewers only have four more games before the All-Star break, it is possible that Matt Garza (shoulder) will reclaim his rotation spot in the second half before Cravy has a chance to get another start.
Mon Jul 6 201515:08Cravy will start Tuesday against Braves
Cravy will start Tuesday against the Braves.
Cravy will replace the injured Matt Garza (shoulder) in the rotation, but he may only receive one start with the All-Star break on tap. The 25-year-old made a spot start for the Brewers earlier in the season as well, allowing just one run on four hits and two walks over seven innings. He'll look for another strong outing Tuesday, facing a Braves team that struggles to score runs.
Fri Jul 3 201509:57Cravy recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs on Friday
Cravy was recalled from Triple-A Colorado Springs on Friday.
There hasn't been any report of an injury in the Milwaukee rotation, so Cravy may just be up to serve as a long reliever, though it's also possible that one of the Brewers' starters is nursing an undisclosed ailment. Cravy struck out six batters and gave up one run over seven innings in his big-league debut earlier this season, and he owns solid numbers -- 3.79 ERA, 4.00 FIP, 7.6 K/9, 3.0 BB/9 -- for Triple-A Colorado Springs through 78.1 innings. He doesn't have an especially high ceiling, but his production in the upper levels of the minors suggests he could be a solid back-end starter.

The Brewers optioned Cravy to Triple-A Colorado Springs on Wednesday, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Cravy was brilliant in his seven-inning big league debut Tuesday, but the Brewers were in need of another outfielder and Cravy will be unavailable for the next few days, so the team decided to send him down to open up a roster spot for Shane Peterson. Expectations were not very high for Cravy's first start, but given the way he pitched, it should not be too long before he gets another chance in the big leagues.

Cravy was the tough-luck loser Tuesday, giving up just one run on four hits and two walks while striking out six over seven innings against the Cardinals.
This was obviously not a bad showing for a low-end prospect making his big league debut on the road against the division favorites. The sense seemed to be that Cravy would be sent down following Tuesday's start, but manager Craig Counsell seemed less certain after Cravy made his case to stick in the rotation. There should be word from the Brewers about Cravy's immediate future, but for now it seems like there's a decent shot he will get at least one more start with the big league club. This could be fool's gold, but Cravy has been good at preventing runs relative to his environment throughout his minor league career, and while he may not miss a ton of bats long term, he could make it as a back-end starter.

Cravy will be the starting pitcher in Tuesday's game against the Cardinals, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Cravy was not needed out of the bullpen in Monday's game, so he will fill the open spot in the Brewers' rotation Tuesday. Cravy is only an average prospect, but he did post a 4.04 ERA -- not bad for a pitcher whose home park is in Colorado Springs and strike out 43 batters in 49 minor league innings this season. Cravy's next step is uncertain, but his showing in Tuesday's game will likely play a key factor in that outcome.

Cravy will be in line to start for the Brewers on Tuesday against the Cardinals if his services aren't needed in Monday's series opener, MLB.com's Adam McCalvy reports.
The Brewers are desperately hoping that Mike Fiers, Monday's starter, can go at least six or seven frames to offer some rest to an overworked bullpen that was forced to cover 13.1 innings in Sunday's marathon victory over the Diamondbacks. Assuming the Brewers are able to preserve him for Tuesday, Cravy probably won't make for an especially enticing speculative play outside of NL-only leagues. The 25-year-old has yet to debut in the majors and sported a pedestrian 4.04 ERA and 1.28 WHIP at Triple-A Colorado Springs prior to his call-up.
Sun May 31 201521:51Cravy called up from Triple-A Nashville
Cravy has been called up from Triple-A Nashville, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
The Brewers need an extra bullpen arm in the wake of Sunday's 17-inning marathon, and Cravy's first stint in the majors may not last long. He's 25 years old and not much of a prospect, with a 4.04 ERA, 7.9 K/9 and 4.0 BB/9 through nine starts for Triple-A Nashville this season.
