Johnson went 6.1 innings Saturday, giving up two earned runs on five hits and three walks while striking out four in a 4-3 win over the Tigers.
The 25-year-old continued his bid for a 2016 rotation spot, ending his season with four quality starts in six outings. Johnson doesn't miss many bats and allows too many walks, which limits his fantasy value, but his peripherals generally show improvement from his major league stint last season.

Johnson allowed three runs (two earned) on seven hits in 5.2 innings against the Yankees on Sunday to take his first loss of the season.
He held the Yankees to a lone run through the first five frames of this game, but then he lost a handle on his command in the sixth. The inning started with a Dustin Ackley solo shot, and he exited after two singles, two walks, two more runs, and a passed ball. He has pitched well enough this September to warrant strong consideration for a starting spot come 2016, but his walking habits will continue to hound him.

Johnson held the Tigers to two runs on five hits in six innings in Game 2 of Monday's doubleheader to earn his third win of the season.
Johnson got into a bit of trouble in the third inning, in which the Tigers scored their two runs, but he otherwise slid by unchallenged. He struck out a season-best nine batters and only walked three. He should receive another turn in the White Sox's rotation before he runs out of turns.

Johnson picked up his second win of the month Wednesday after holding the A's to three runs on six hits in six innings.
He allowed his fifth home run in just three September starts, but he did a good enough job of keeping the A's off the basepaths to keep the score down. Johnson should earn a few more starts down the stretch as he auditions for a 2016 rotation role.

Johnson did not pick up the decision in Friday's loss to Minnesota, surrendering one run on four hits and five walks while striking out six in five innings.
Though both have been solid, Johnson's two 2015 starts have been opposite sides of the same coin. After striking out just three and not giving up a walk on Sept. 6, Johnson doubled his strikeouts and piled on the walks on Friday. One of the few similarities between the two outings has been Johnson's penchant for giving up the long ball - four solo shots in just 11 innings of work. Johnson's ability, or inability, to keep the ball in the yard will be worth monitoring through the rest of the season.

Johnson will start Friday against the Twins, the Chicago Tribune's Colleen Kane reports.
He was thought to be taking the ball Sunday, but the White Sox tweaked their rotation a little. Chicago will still operate with a semi-six-man rotation the rest of the way with Johnson in the mix.

Johnson will receive multiple starts moving forward as part of a "semi-six man rotation", Dan Hayes of CSN Chicago reports.
Johnson was rock solid in his first start of 2015, giving up just three runs through six innings against the Royals on Sunday, opening the door for the White Sox to give him a few more starts moving forward. While the rotation seems fluid at this point, it's clear Johnson will get plenty of opportunities to impress White Sox brass heading into next season.

Johnson allowed three runs on five hits in six innings Sunday en route to the win in his first MLB start of 2015.
All three Royals' runs came off home runs, but all were of the solo variety as he only allowed two other base runners. The lack of walks served as an encouraging sign, as free passes doomed his MLB experience to open the 2014 season. The White Sox did not describe Johnson's role moving forward, but he should receive another start or two in the season's final weeks.
Thu Sep 3 201511:53Johnson will start Sunday's game in Kansas City
Johnson will start Sunday's game in Kansas City, MLB.com's Scott Merkin reports.
This pushes Chris Sale's start back to Monday, and it would seem that the White Sox might be going with a six-man rotation down the stretch. Johnson has never had much success in the big leagues (4.73 ERA in 10 starts), but he was fantastic at Triple-A this year, posting a 2.37 ERA with 136 strikeouts in 132.2 innings. Still, it remains to be seen if that success will transfer over against big league hitters.
Tue Sep 1 201515:12Johnson recalled from Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday
Johnson was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday, Phil Rogers of MLB.com reports.
The 25-year-old was included as part of the team's first wave of September callups, and deservedly so, after posting a 2.37 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 136:41 K:BB over 132.2 innings at Charlotte this season. Johnson is not currently listed to start in the immediate future for the White Sox, but he could get a few turns down the stretch if the team opts for additional rest for some of its other young starters down the stretch.

Chicago White Sox pitcher Erik Johnson was called up from Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday, according to MLB.com. Johnson struggled in five April starts but has pitched well for Charlotte since his demotion and could get another chance in the rotation.

Johnson is 8-5 with a 2.59 ERA, 1.13 WHIP,and 105:30 K:BB ratio over 105:30 K:BB ratio over 94 innings at Triple-A Charlotte this season.
Johnson's trial in the major leagues went poorly last season, but he's shown vast improvement since heading back to the minors to open 2015, and may soon be ready to rejoin the White Sox. The team is expected to listen to offers on Jeff Samardzija as the trade deadline nears, putting Johnson on notice for a possible promotion, according to the Chicago Tribune's Colleen Kane.

Johnson was named the International League pitcher of the week after pitching 14 scoreless innings over his two starts, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Johnson has actually not allowed an earned run in three straight starts (22 innings), and he has 28 strikeouts (to four walks) over that stretch. He could be gunning for a rotation spot at some point this season, especially if John Danks gets moved to the bullpen.

Johnson (oblique) threw three scoreless innings against Triple-A Durham on Monday.
He was the first reliever used by Charlotte in this game, but one would imagine Johnson will slide back into a starting role once he gets his innings up. There is no clear path to the majors at this point.
Sun Apr 12 201503:14Johnson (oblique) will start Monday for Triple-A Charlotte
Johnson (oblique) will start Monday for Triple-A Charlotte, Seth Lasko of the Charlotte Observer reports.
Johnson sat out the last part of major league spring training with the oblique strain, but it sounds like he is nearing a return to the mound. A healthy Johnson should remain in Triple-A, where he will serve as starting pitching depth in the event injury strikes the major league rotation.
Sat Apr 4 201510:41Johnson (oblique) optioned to Triple-A Charlotte on Friday
Johnson (oblique) was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte on Friday, MLB.com's Scott Merkin reports.
Johnson suffered an oblique strain late in March that dashed any minimal hopes he had of cracking the big-league rotation to open 2015. He's already resumed throwing since suffering the injury, so it doesn't look like he'll be forced to miss much time to start the year. The right-hander flamed out in his five starts with the White Sox last season (6.46 ERA, 1.77 WHIP) and will need to restore some value in the minors before he gets his next shot with the big club.

Johnson (abdomen) threw a 20-pitch bullpen session Saturday, CSN Chicago's Dan Hayes reports.
He suffered a moderate oblique strain last week, but considering he was ticketed for the Triple-A rotation, this won't have much impact on his fantasy value for 2015.
Wed Mar 25 201517:10Johnson suffered moderate oblique strain last week
Johnson suffered a moderate oblique strain last week, Dan Hayes of CSN Chicago reports.
Johnson is considered day-to-day for the time being, so he should be able to return before the start of the season. The 25-year-old made five appearances in the big leagues in 2014 but he'll likely begin the year in the starting rotation with Triple-A Charlotte.

Johnson has been working on his mechanics this spring with the goal of making his motion more consistent and repeatable, the White Sox's official site reports.
Johnson was supposed to take the "next step" in 2014, but he flopped in the major league rotation and then struggled in 100+ innings at Triple-A Charlotte. He believes faulty mechanics were partly the cause for those problems, and he is working with the big league coaches to correct those issues. There probably is not a spot for him in the Sox's rotation to start the season even if he does turn it around. However, he could be a sneaky play if he comes up as an injury replacement at some point.

Johnson landed on the minor league DL on Saturday due to right shoulder fatigue, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.
Johnson opened the season on the fantasy radar as the White Sox's No. 4 starter, but five mostly disastrous outings sealed his fate. He's spent the remainder of an been up-and-down campaign at Triple-A Charlotte, boasting a 6.92 ERA, 1.885 WHIP, and 27:23 K:BB across 52 innings in his last 10 nods. If he heals up in time, he could be utilized by the big club as a long reliever, but a starting gig is likely out of the question at this point.
