Carroll gave up seven hits and two earned runs in seven innings against the Indians on Sunday.
Carroll struck out one and walked one in the losing decision. The right-hander, who owns a 4.92 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 53:39 K:BB ratio in 115.1 innings this season, will next take the bump Saturday at home against Minnesota.
Wed Sep 3 201408:22Carroll among White Sox's roster additions Tuesday
Carroll was among the White Sox's roster additions Tuesday, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
He was only in the minor leagues temporarily while the White Sox added bullpen help for Saturday's double-header. Carroll could split fifth-starter duties with Chris Bassitt for the final few weeks of the season.

Carroll was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday.
Caroll has struggled in his last couple outings allowing seven runs and five runs (only three and four earned, however). He will now head to Triple-A Charlotte, but with rosters expanding Monday, the move may have just been temporary to add an extra arm to the bullpen for Saturday's doubleheader.

Carroll worked into the sixth inning Friday night, giving up seven runs (three earned) on 10 hits while striking out a couple of batters in a 7-1 loss to the Tigers.
Though he was obviously let down by his defense in this outing, Carroll struggled mightily through five starts in August. Over 28.2 innings this month, the rookie right-hander posted a dreadful 7.22 ERA, 1.74 WHIP and 3.5 K/9. Carroll is scheduled to be back atop the mound Friday in Cleveland.

Carroll gave up five runs -- four earned -- on seven hits over six innings in a loss to the Yankees on Saturday afternoon.
Mostly due to a lack of alternatives, the White Sox will lean on Carroll to chew up innings every fifth day through the end of the season. He's amassed just 50 strikeouts in 103.1 innings, while posting a 5.05 ERA and 1.53 WHIP.

Carroll surrendered eight hits and five earned runs (with two strikeouts and three walks) over 5.2 innings, but picked up the winning decision against Toronto on Sunday.
Carroll skipped his last scheduled start due to a blister on his finger, but the extra rest time didn't seem to help. Over his previous three starts, Carroll has been tagged for 22 hits and 16 earned runs in 17.2 innings. He has a touch matchup coming up on Saturday at Yankee Stadium.

Carroll will not make his next start Wednesday due to a blister on his finger, MLB.com's Scott Merkin reports.
Jose Quintana will get the start Wednesday in Carroll's place. Carroll is presumably just being skipped in the rotation, so he could return to start the next time his spot comes up either Aug. 18 or Aug. 19 against the Orioles.

Carroll took his seventh loss of the season Thursday after he allowed seven runs on seven hits in just five innings of work.
Road starts in Safeco Field are generally safe streaming bets, but Carroll surrendered three home runs in Thursday's start. Carroll has gone win-less since the All-Star break, but there's no one in the organization chomping at the bit to take his rotation spot.

Carroll picked up a no-decision against the Twins on Saturday after allowing four runs through seven innings.
He allowed seven hits and two walks while striking out only four, and his ERA is now 4.36. His WHIP is a horrendous 1.47 and his K:BB ratio is an unimpressive 45:29.
Sat Aug 2 201416:53Carroll (blister) confirmed as Saturday's starter against Twins
Carroll (blister) has been confirmed as Saturday's starter against the Twins.
The right-hander was forced off the hill after 78 pitches in his last start due a blister on his hand, but apparently the blister didn't present any issues in his side session as Carroll has been cleared to toe the rubber Saturday. In 9.2 innings against Minnesota this season, Carroll has given up just one run on six hits and one walk while striking out six.
Sun Jul 27 201416:59Carroll allows one run over six against Twins
Scott Carroll limited the Twins to four hits and one run over six innings but settled for a no-decision on Sunday.
Carroll had a nice bounce back from allowing five runs in his last start. Unfortunately for the 29-year-old, his bullpen couldn't hold the lead. Carroll struck out four while walking one. Carroll owns a 4.29 ERA and 1.48 WHIP through 79 2/3 innings, and he'll get a shot at the Twins again when they square off on Saturday.

Sun Jul 13 201409:45Carroll (back) will be ready after break
Scott Carroll said after leaving Saturday's start with a stiff back that he'll be "ready to go after the All-Star break."
Carroll had to exit after five shutout frames, but it sounds like it was just a precaution. The right-hander has pitched well since re-entering the rotation, allowing just three hits over 11 2/3 shutout frames.

Sat Jul 12 201416:53Scott Carroll leaves game with back stiffness
Scott Carroll left his start Saturday against the Indians with lower back stiffness.
Carroll was pulled after pitching five innings, giving up just two hits (no runs) and recording three strikeouts. Zach Putnam replaced him on the mound. Carroll should be fine for his first start after the All-Star break.

Mon Jul 7 201423:03Scott Carroll combines on two-hit shutout
Scott Carroll allowing just one hit over 6 2/3 innings Monday in the White Sox's shutout of the Red Sox.
Javy Guerra and Zach Putnam finished up the two-hitter, which probably rates as a new low for the Red Sox this season. After all, Carroll entered the night with a 5.05 ERA and a 1.65 WHIP this season. He had allowed 73 hits in 57 innings, including 17 over 11 innings in back-to-back losses to the Blue Jays and Angels his last two times out. Carroll isn't recommended in AL-only leagues.

Thu Jun 26 201422:31Carroll hit hard by the Jays, falls to 2-4
Scott Carroll fell to 2-4, allowing five runs over five innings in Thursday's loss to the Blue Jays.
The top of the Blue Jays' lineup did tremendous damage to Carroll. The 1-through-4 hitters went a combined 7-for-11 with a walk, five singles, a double, and a triple along with four RBI against him. Overall, he allowed nine hits, walked two, and struck out four. Carroll, back in the rotation in place of Andre Rienzo, will take a 4.76 ERA, a 1.63 WHIP, and a 24/18 K/BB ratio into his next start against the Angels at home.

Tue Jun 24 201417:12Scott Carroll to start Thursday vs. Blue Jays
Scott Carroll will start Thursday versus the Blue Jays.
Carroll is taking over for Andre Rienzo in the White Sox starting rotation. He struggled in that role earlier this season and is not a promising fantasy option. The 29-year-old right-hander owns a 4.30 ERA and 1.57 WHIP in 46 innings this season for Chicago.

Thu May 22 201422:02Scott Carroll moved to the bullpen
Scott Carroll has been moved to the White Sox' bullpen.
With Chris Sale back from the disabled list, the club has elected to keep Hector Noesi in the rotation rather than Carroll. Carroll held a 6.49 ERA over five starts for the Pale Hose.

Tue May 20 201400:22Scott Carroll gives up six runs to Royals
Scott Carroll was tagged for six runs in four innings by the Royals in a no-decision Monday.
Carroll has given up six runs in three straight starts, so his time in the White Sox rotation should be at end. Charlie Leesman could be next in line, unless management wants to go back to Erik Johnson already.

Wed May 14 201400:59SP Carroll allows 6 runs, 11 hits in loss
Scott Carroll got clobbered by the A's for six runs on 11 hits in five innings of a Tuesday loss.
Carroll allowed only one earned run in his first two starts of the season, but he's been rather harshly yanked down to earth in his last two outings. Carroll, now 1-3 with a 5.24 ERA and 1.75 WHIP, will not have a long leash. Even if he sticks around for a while, the 29-year-old right-hander is not an attractive fantasy option. Carroll's next turn in the rotation comes up Monday in Kansas City.
