Sun Sep 7 201413:46McKenry out of lineup Sunday against Padres
McKenry is out of the lineup Sunday against the Padres, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.
McKenry has caught three straight games for the Rockies, but will sit in favor of Jackson Williams on Sunday afternoon. With Wilin Rosario (wrist) set to make a Sunday return, look for McKenry to potentially see his playing time reduced for the remainder of the season.

McKenry went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI, two runs and two walks in Saturday's win over the Padres.
In reaching base four times Saturday, McKenry was able to push his on-base percentage over .400 for the season. He should remain a useful option in two-catcher leagues and NL-only formats for as long as Wilin Rosario remains on the DL.

McKenry went 1-for-2 with a home run and two walks in Wednesday's win over the Giants.
With another excellent day at the dish Wednesday, McKenry raised his line at Coors Field this season to .333/.436/.500. Those marks are well above his career norms and are due for some fallback, but perhaps not dramatically so because of the favorable park he calls home.
Tue Sep 2 201417:47McKenry out of lineup Tuesday against Giants
McKenry is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Giants, Patrick Saunders of the Denver Post reports.
McKenry will sit for the second time in three games, with a 3-for-4 performance sandwiched between the days of rest. Jackson Williams will start behind the plate and bat eighth for the Rockies on Tuesday.
Tue Sep 2 201411:56McKenry 3-4 with two runs scored in Monday's win over Giants
McKenry went 3-for-4 with two runs scored in Monday's win over the Giants.
With a career slash line of .240/.310/.396 over 755 plate appearances in the majors, McKenry has proven to be an average-to-pedestrian hitter by catcher standards, so it would seem the career-best .869 OPS he's currently sitting on can be attributed almost entirely to the Coors Effect. Thanks to a .404 BABIP in his 22 games at home this season that has netted him a .328 batting average, McKenry is probably worthy of a lineup spot in most NL-only and deeper mixed leagues when he has a heavy slate of home games. He should continue to receive a healthy amount of starts the rest of the way with Wilin Rosario (wrist) uncertain to return before season's end.
Sun Aug 31 201415:01McKenry out of lineup Sunday against Diamondbacks
McKenry is out of the lineup Sunday against the Diamondbacks.
McKenry will receive the day game off Sunday following two starts behind the plate and a larger than normal workload as of late. Jackson Williams gets the start behind the plate Sunday and will bat eighth for the Rockies.
Thu Aug 28 201413:45McKenry out of lineup Thursday against Giants
McKenry is out of the lineup Thursday against the Giants.
McKenry will receive a well-deserved day of rest after starting five straight games, with Jackson Williams stepping in to catch Jordan Lyles. Wilin Rosario was placed on the 15-day DL on Wednesday with a wrist concern, meaning McKenry will serve as the primary option behind the plate for at least the next 10 days or so.

McKenry had another fine night at the plate, as he went 2-for-4 with one run scored and one RBI as he hit his fourth homer of the season on Friday against the Diamondbacks.
The Rockies' backup catcher is playing nothing like a backup of late, driving out his second homer in as many games. McKenry (.363/.426/.560) has a lifetime .241 batting average so don't expect his stellar run to continue for too much longer.

McKenry hit his third home run of the season Wednesday against the Cubs, part of a 3-for-4 effort, knocking in three and scoring twice.
It was a vintage Coors Field evening where McKenry was one of four Rockies to record multi-hit games. The 29-year-old catcher is putting up very fantastic numbers as Wilin Rosario's backup, slashing .356/.423/.529 in 87 at-bats on the season.

McKenry went 3-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's win over the Cubs.
McKenry has produced multi-hit games in both of his last two starts, but it won't warrant additional playing time for the catcher. The Rockies remain committed to developing Wilin Rosario's receiving skills, allowing McKenry to get in the lineup only when the young catcher requires a day off.
Wed Jul 2 201421:36McKenry blasts 3-run homer in Rockies loss
Michael McKenry went 1-for-3 with a walk and a three-run home run in Wednesday's loss to the Nationals.
McKenry supplied all of the Rockies' offense on the evening, slamming a three-run shot to left field in the second inning off of Doug Fister. The catcher has hit well since being called up on June 4, but that was his first home run of the season. In 60 plate appearances, McKenry is slashing .321/.367/.464 with seven RBI.

The 28-year-old is in camp competing to be the primary backstop to starting catcher Wilin Rosario. He's exhibited nice power potential in the past, and could be relevant in NL-only formats if he found his way into part-time at-bats at Coors Field.
