Thu Apr 28 202211:36Nick Lodolo Placed On IL, Mike Moustakas Activated
The Cincinnati Reds placed rookie left-hander Nick Lodolo (back) on the 10-day injured list on Thursday with a lower back strain and activated third baseman Mike Moustakas (biceps) from the injured list in a corresponding move. It's unclear what the Reds will do for a fifth starter with Lodolo sidelined. Lodolo will be eligible to return as soon as May 5, but it's unclear if that will happen. The young southpaw struggled in his MLB debut, but overall he's been solid with a 3.37 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and a 15:2 K:BB in 10 2/3 innings in his last two starts. Moustakas will serve as the designated hitter and bat seventh on Thursday against San Diego Padres right-hander Nick Martinez. The 33-year-old still feels his biceps injury when throwing, so he's expected to stay off the field for at least another couple of days.

The Cincinnati Reds placed infielders Jonathan India (hamstring) and Mike Moustakas (biceps) on the 10-day injured list Tuesday. India has missed the last four games due to a strained right hamstring. The transaction action is retroactive to April 16, and the earliest the 25-year-old can return is April 26 against the San Diego Padres. Moustakas is dealing with a right biceps strain and will miss the next ten days. It's unclear how much time the 33-year-old will miss, but the earliest he can return is April 28. Look for Colin Moran and Brandon Drury to see an uptick at at-bats while Moustakas and India are sidelined.

Mon Apr 18 202221:22Mike Moustakas Scratched From Monday's Lineup
Cincinnati Reds third baseman Mike Moustakas was scratched from the lineup ahead of his team's game against the San Diego Padres on Monday. The team did not offer a reason for the move. The team also placed outfielder Tyler Naquin on the injured list on Monday for what is believed to be COVID-19, but it's unclear whether the two moves are related. Colin Moran was moved into the starting lineup in place of Moustakas and will bat seventh and play third base. Fantasy gamers starting Moustakas will want to get him out of their lineups if they have an alternate option.

Thu Aug 26 202112:30Mike Moustakas Sitting Against Lefty On Thursday
Cincinnati Reds infielder Mike Moustakas is heading to the bench for the team's series finale against the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday. Left-hander Brett Anderson is on the mound for the Brewers, so the Reds will be going with the right-handed Eugenio Suarez at third instead of the left-handed Moustakas, who has gone just 2-for-24 against lefties this year. Moustakas has had a rough time at the plate this month, regardless of the handedness of the opposing pitcher. He's slashing just .149/.245/.298 with one home run over 47 at-bats in August. He can be left on waivers in all but the deepest of fantasy leagues at this point.

Moustakas is hitting .203 with a .308 on-base percentage and four home runs in 146 plate appearances this season. It'll be Eugenio Suarez starting at third and batting seventh against Thompson. Suarez has continued to hit for power despite low batting average and on-base percentage numbers this season. He's hitting .172 with a .258 on-base percentage and 23 home runs in 472 plate appearances. You're probably better off leaving Suarez on the bench on Saturday in both daily fantasy play and season-long formats considering that Thompson has allowed just four home runs in 52.2 innings this season.
