Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto went 1-for-1 with a pinch-hit, solo homer in an 8-5 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday. Votto was originally scheduled for a day off but he came off of the bench to pinch-hit for the pitcher in the ninth inning, taking Kenley Jansen deep. The veteran first baseman has been scuffling at the plate of late, hitting just .227 with three homers over his past 15 games. Overall, Votto has a .267 average, 31 homers, 66 runs, 89 RBI, and a steal over 416 at-bats.

Cincinnati Reds left-hander Wade Miley's late-season struggles continued in an 8-5 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday. Miley allowed six runs over three innings while striking out two and walking one. He gave up two homers in the loss, a solo shot and a two-run shot. Miley had been excellent for much of the season but he has not been good over four September starts, posting an 8.35 ERA in the month. Overall, Miley has a 12-7 record, 3.37 ERA, 1.33 WHIP, and 125 strikeouts over 163 innings of work. Miley will look to bounce back in his next start, which comes against the Washington Nationals.

Detroit Tigers catcher Dustin Garneau went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 2-0 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays. It was his second home run in as many games and his fifth home run over just eight games this month. The 34-year-old journeyman was called up by the Tigers from Triple-A in mid-August. He has been sharing catching duties with Eric Haase lately, but he's been in the lineup more often than not as Haase has also been getting starts in the outfield. Over 15 total games in the majors this year, Garneau is slashing .261/.286/.739. Based on his .208/.288/.376 career slash line, we're likely just seeing a bit of a hot streak from him. He's not someone fantasy managers should prioritize off the waiver wire.

Detroit Tigers catcher/outfielder Eric Haase helped lead the team to a 2-0 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday. He went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run in the game. The home run was his 22nd of the year. The 28-year-old has struggled at the plate so far in September. He was slashing just .171/.239/.317 over 12 games this month going into Sunday's contest. Haase has been something of a revelation for the Tigers and fantasy managers alike this year, mashing his 22 home runs in just 89 games. He's still probably worth starting for most fantasy managers the rest of the way. We'll see if Sunday's home run can get him going again.

Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Wily Peralta had a fantastic outing against the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday. He pitched seven scoreless innings, allowing three hits and three walks while striking out three. He earned the win to improve to 4-3 on the year. The 32-year-old right-hander has now posted quality starts in two straight outings. He's allowed just three earned runs over 21 innings in September, good for a 1.35 ERA. However, he has just 13 strikeouts over that same stretch and a minuscule 15.3% strikeout rate on the year. His upside is limited, but fantasy managers who are desperate for pitching help in the final weeks of the year should take a hard look at him. His next start will be a favorable one against the Kansas City Royals on Saturday.

Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Brad Miller is absent from the lineup for Sunday's game against the New York Mets. Miller's had a solid year at the plate, slashing .230/.323/.467 with 19 HRs, but has done little of that off of lefties as he's put up just a .567 OPS against them. With Rich Hill starting for the Mets, he'll get the day off. J.T. Realmuto shifts over to first, and Andrew Knapp will catch with Miller on the bench. Knapp isn't out there for his hitting, as he owns a .453 OPS across 57 games this season and should be left alone in all leagues.

Philadelphia Phillies shortstop Didi Gregorius is not in the lineup to take on the New York Mets Sunday night, according to MLB.com. Gregorius has struggled for much of the year, hitting just .215 with 11 HRs and a .373 slugging. Freddy Galvis will take over short and bat leadoff. Galvis has been productive this season, slashing .249/.312/.428 with 13 HRs over 93 games split between the Baltimore Orioles and Phillies. He's been especially good off of lefties this season, as he owns a .836 OPS against them. With southpaw Rich Hill on the hill for the Mets, fantasy managers should feel comfortable streaming Galvis.

San Francisco Giants outfielder Mike Yastrzemski is not in the lineup for Sunday's matchup against the Atlanta Braves, according to MLB.com. He hasn't been able to replicate what he's done the last couple of seasons but still has an above-average .221/.308/.454 slash line with 23 HRs, 71 runs, and 58 RBI. He has just a .531 OPS against southpaws this season, though, and will take a seat with Max Fried starting for the Braves. Austin Slater will play center and bat second. Slater has crushed lefties this year with a .266/.363/.481 slash line, along with 14 SBs over 122 games this season. He's a good streaming option for any fantasy manager looking for outfield help.

San Francisco Giants' first baseman Brandon Belt is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Atlanta Braves, according to MLB.com. Belt's having one of the best seasons of his career, slashing .260/.365/.577 with 26 HRs, 54 RBI, and 57 runs over 90 games. His OPS is .877 off of lefties, compared to .956 against right-handers this year, and so he'll get the day off with southpaw Max Fried on the mound. Wilmer Flores will take his spot at first base and bat seventh. Flores is hitting well against left-handers, slashing .293/.333/.474 with six home runs in 133 at-bats, and fantasy managers in most leagues can stream him for first base help.

Atlanta Braves outfielder Jorge Soler is taking a seat on the bench for Sunday's matchup against the San Francisco Giants, according to MLB.com. Soler is slashing .219/.312/.419 with 23 HRs, 59 RBI, and 64 runs over 136 games. Since being traded to the Braves, though, he's been a great fantasy asset, batting .272 with 10 HRs while slugging .512. Joc Pederson will get the start in right field and bat leadoff. Pederson is slashing .219/.289/.410 against righties this season, and with right-hander Anthony DeSclafani on the bump, fantasy managers can look elsewhere for an outfielder.

Oakland Athletics infielder Josh Harrison isn't in the starting lineup for Sunday's game to take on the Los Angeles Angels, according to MLB.com. Harrison's having a productive year and has value in every format, slashing .295/.358/.427 with eight home runs and nine stolen bases. He's in the midst of a six-game hitting streak and has hit safely in 10 of his last 11. Tony Kemp will shift to second base, while Seth Brown will start in right field. He has good power but won't help out with batting average, as he's hit .210 with 16 HRs and a .457 slugging. With right-hander Shohei Ohtani on the mound, fantasy managers can stream Brown, who has slugged .469 with a .749 OPS against righties this season.

Cincinnatti Reds first baseman Joey Votto is not in the starting lineup Sunday against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Tyler Stephenson will step in at first base, batting cleanup against left-handed starter Clayton Kershaw. While Votto has put together a resurgent campaign with a .914 OPS, he's slashed a slightly more pedestrian .217/.373/.435 over his last 30 games and 92 at-bats. He has not homered since September 10. The on-base skills will always be there for Votto, but fantasy managers have come to expect more with batting average and home runs.

Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Max Muncy will be on the bench for Sunday's series finale against the Cincinnati Reds. Albert Pujols will step in at first base. Muncy has put together an MVP-type campaign this season, but he's slowed over the last month, slashing .187/.261/.495 over his last 30 games. He does have nine homers in that span, but he also notably has 35 strikeouts in 107 at-bats, including six in his last seven at-bats over the last two games. Fantasy managers have relied on Muncy all year, so hopefully this rest will get him back on track.

New York Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez will get a rest for Sunday's matinee against Cleveland. Backup backstop Kyle Higashioka will take his place in the starting lineup, batting ninth. Sanchez has struggled of late, slashing .186/.259/.333 with four homers over his last 30 games and 102 at-bats. He has just four hits in his last nine games, so fantasy managers should not bemoan his absence too much.

New York Yankees outfielder Joey Gallo (neck) will not start Sunday's game against Cleveland. Gallo was removed from Saturday's game in the fifth inning with neck tightness, and Tyler Wade took his spot in the outfield. The Yankees will deploy an outfield of Brett Gardner, Aaron Judge, and Giancarlo Stanton across the grass with Luke Voit at designated hitter. Gallo has been on fire with six homers in his last seven games, so his absence is a big blow to fantasy managers, especially those who have playoff matchups coming down to the wire. His return is expected early in the week.

Seattle Mariners third baseman Kyle Seager will take a seat on the bench for Sunday's matchup against the Kansas City Royals. Dylan Moore will get the start at the hot corner in his stead, and Abraham Toro moves up to the third spot in the lineup. Seager has hit nine homers over his last 30 games, but he's struggled to a .120/.241/.160 slash line with no homers over his last seven games. Fantasy managers will hope the day off does him good and gets him back to his slugging ways.

Boston Red Sox utility man Enrique Hernandez has struggled since returning from a COVID diagnosis, slashing .146/.178/.220 with no homers in 10 September games. He started to turn it around against the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday, going 2-for-5 with a double and two runs scored. Hernandez is firmly entrenched atop the lineup, giving him plenty of fantasy value if he can resume his summer form. His season OPS has slumped to .776, but with favorable matchups in the coming scoring period, he's a solid fantasy play.

Boston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts drove in four runs Saturday against the Baltimore Orioles, going 3-for-5 with a home run and two runs scored. It's Bogaerts' 22nd long ball of the season. Since being activated off the COVID list, Bogaerts is slashing .367/.441/.667 in 34 plate appearances across eight games. He's peaking at the right time to help advance fantasy managers through the playoffs.

Oakland Athletics relief pitcher Andrew Chafin tossed a scoreless ninth inning on Saturday to earn his fifth save of the season. Chafin didn't make things easy as he allowed a leadoff single to Shohei Ohtani and wound up loading the bases before inducing a game-ending lineout. Despite the stress in the ninth, Chafin nailed down the save as the A's bullpen seems to have fallen into a full-blown committee in the ninth inning. Sergio Romo earned the save on Friday and Lou Trivino is also in the mix late in games. Chafin has the best numbers of any A's reliever and seems to be the top option for manager Bob Melvin, making him the de facto choice to roster in fantasy for those chasing saves.

Kansas City Royals outfielder Michael A. Taylor had a strong game in the team's 8-1 win over the Seattle Mariners on Saturday. He went 2-for-4 with a home run, a double and two RBI. The home run was his 12th of the year and his first since August 29. Taylor is slashing .246/.300/.361 over 133 games on the year with 12 stolen bases to go along with his 12 home runs. The 30-year-old has been buried in the Royals' lineup most of the year and just hasn't had the consistency needed to warrant fantasy intrigue.
