Fri Jun 7 201311:14Chad Jenkins to be called up Tuesday
Chad Jenkins will be called up to start on Tuesday against the White Sox.
The Blue Jays went with four starters while they could, but now they need a fifth again. Jenkins has a 3.60 ERA in three starts this season but isn't much of a fantasy option even against a struggling White Sox lineup.

Sun May 26 201317:11Chad Jenkins solid in win over Orioles
Chad Jenkins allowed eight hits and three walks but only two runs over five innings while taking a no-decision in Sunday's 6-5 win over the Orioles.
Jenkins was pitching on 13 days' rest, so he was predictably rusty in the first few innings, allowing a walk, five hits and two runs over the first two frames. He's lucky he only wound up allowing two runs, but the Jays will take it. If he gets another start, it will come next weekend in San Diego.

Chad Jenkins will start Sunday against the Red Sox.
Jenkins missed the first month of the season with a shoulder injury, but is coming off a strong outing in his first appearance with Double-A New Hampshire. He'll make a spot start with Brandon Morrow (neck) sidelined and could push for a rotation spot with both Josh Johnson and J.A. Happ on the disabled list.

Thu Mar 7 201313:01Jenkins (shoulder) to throw session on Friday
Chad Jenkins (shoulder) played catch Thursday and is scheduled to throw a side session Friday.
Blue Jays manager John Gibbons indicated earlier in the day Thursday that Jenkins was shut down indefinitely with a sore shoulder, but pitching coach Pete Walker later clarified that the shutdown was for five days and is already over. The 25-year-old right-hander is in the mix for a bullpen job this spring, but he will likely begin the season with Triple-A Buffalo.

Tue Oct 2 201221:57Chad Jenkins earns first MLB victory vs Twins
Chad Jenkins earned the first victory of his MLB career on Tuesday night after limiting the Twins to two runs on five hits over five-plus innings.
Jenkins struck out two. He cruised through the first five innings without any difficulty, but allowed a single then a two-run homer to Denard Span leading off the sixth. The Toronto right-hander finishes 1-3 with a 4.50 ERA and 16/11 K/BB ratio over 32 innings of work. He'll enter the 2013 season with a chance to compete for a spot in the Jays' rotation.

Mon Oct 1 201216:48Jenkins to start Tuesday vs. Twins
Chad Jenkins will start Tuesday against the Twins.
He'll start on short rest in place of Carlos Villanueva. Jenkins was chased for three runs over just 3 2/3 innings in his last start Friday vs. the Yankees and doesn't make for a strong play in fantasy leagues.

Fri Sep 28 201223:50Chad Jenkins hit hard in loss to Yankees
Chad Jenkins was hit hard in a losing effort against the Yankees on Friday, surrendering three runs on four hits in just 3 2/3 innings of work.
Jenkins also walked three and struck out two in the brief outing. Nick Swisher's two-run double got the Yankees on the board in the first, and they added another run in the second. It appears unlikely that he'll make another start this season, so the 24-year-old right-hander should finish the season with an 0-3 record, 4.67 ERA and 14/10 K/BB ratio in 27 frames.

Wed Sep 19 201219:31Chad Jenkins to start Sunday
Chad Jenkins will make his first major league start Sunday against the Rays.
The Jays need a spot starter with Ricky Romero and Henderson Alvarez both pitching in Wednesday's doubleheader. Jenkins has posted a 4.91 ERA in 10 relief appearances for the Jays and put up a 4.96 ERA with just 57 strikeouts over 114 1/3 innings at Double-A this season. He's a poor streaming option.

Tue Sep 11 201216:26Jenkins may start Sept. 24
Chad Jenkins may start one half of the Blue Jays' September 24 doubleheader against the Orioles.
Jenkins has posted a pedestrian 4.24 ERA and 8/5 K/BB ratio in 17 innings of relief for Toronto since being promoted in early August from Double-A New Hampshire. The 24-year-old right-hander will not be a good streaming option in any fantasy league.

Wed Apr 28 201014:01Jays prospect Jenkins goes eight scoreless
Chad Jenkins tossed eight scoreless innings and struck out nine Tuesday for low Single-A Lansing.
Jenkins, the 20th overall selection in last year's draft, has a 3.75 ERA and a 22/5 K/BB ratio in 24 innings. He lacks some polish for a guy who was a first-round pick out of college, which is why he's in the Midwest League rather than high-A ball or even Double-A, but the Jays should be pleased with his early progress.
