Stults (7-16) picked up the win on Friday against the Diamondbacks as he gave up five runs (two earned) over six innings, while walking a hitter and striking out two.
You're not going to get dominant numbers from Stults in his starts, but he's actually pitched fairly well since August 1. Stults has racked up six quality starts over his last eight games started, lowering his ERA from 5.22 to 4.49.

Stults took his league-leading 16th loss (tied with Kevin Correia) on Friday against the Rockies, as he allowed three runs on eight hits over 6.1 innings pitched.
Some of Stults' losses this season are due to the Padres bats going to sleep, but not all of his output can be blamed on lack of run support. Stults remains among the league leaders in home runs allowed (25) and batting average against (.284) and isn't someone you normally want in your lineup.

Stults turned in an up-and-down performance -- two runs on five hits and five walks to go with four strikeouts in six innings -- and was the hard-luck loser Sunday against the Dodgers.
With his 15th defeat, Stults fell into a tie with A.J. Burnett and Kevin Correia for most losses so far in 2014. However, Stults has mostly turned around a sour first half, posting a 3-4 record, 3.66 ERA, 1.329 WHIP, and 6.56 K/9 in 46.2 innings across eight post-All-Star break starts. His next slated nod arrives Friday in Colorado, where he's recorded a 3.09 ERA, 1.029 WHIP, and seven strikeouts versus one walk in 11.2 innings (two outings).

Stults lost his 14th game of the season Monday, giving up four runs on nine hits, including two home runs over five innings versus Milwaukee.
Stults had been pitching better of late. Monday's outing was the first time in five starts that the lefty allowed more than two runs. Stultz will try to finish August strong on Sunday against the Dodgers.

Stults (6-13) earned the victory Wednesday, throwing five innings of one-run ball with four hits, a walk and five strikeouts against the Dodgers.
Stults turned his season around when the calendar flipped past July. The 34-year-old is 3-0 and has allowed only four runs over 24.2 innings (1.46 ERA) in four August outings. Stults should get two more turns this month and will face the Brewers on Monday.

Stults gave up two runs and four hits in seven innings at St. Louis on Thursday, but recorded a no-decision. He walked one and struck out just one batter.
Stults allowed a two-run homer to Jhonny Peralta in the second inning, but was otherwise strong. He's been effective in general lately, although he's likely to be bumped from the starting rotation once Andrew Cashner (shoulder) returns from the disabled list. He's scheduled to face the Dodgers in his next start, but that might be his last one, assuming Cashner doesn't suffer any setbacks in his current rehab process.

Stults struck out six and held the Pirates to one run on seven hits over 6.1 innings to pick up his fifth win of the season Saturday night.
The Padres have been forced to keep Stults in the rotation throughout the season simply because they've lacked healthy alternatives, but with back-to-back quality starts, he'll have some momentum going into a road start against the Cardinals at Busch Stadium on Thursday.

Stults (4-13) snagged the win on Friday facing the Braves as he allowed one unearned run on two hits over 6.1 innings pitched.
Wins have been difficult to come by for Stults considering the way he's pitched this season. The 112-pitch effort was Stults' first quality start since July 4. Unfortunately for the 34-year old Stults and his owners, he'll never take the next step in improving his numbers if he doesn't cut down on his 1.54 HR/9 rate which is quite pitiful.
Sun Jul 27 201422:00Stults allows six runs in loss against Braves
Eric Stults allowed six runs on six hits over six innings in Sunday's loss to the Braves.
Stults hit rough waters in the third inning when the Braves collected all six hits and plated six runs. Otherwise, Stults was fairly good, allowing only one baserunner over the other five innings. However it happened, the southpaw fell to 3-13 with the loss. Perhaps he'll fare better the second time around, as Stults will draw the Braves again in his next start on Friday.

Eric Stults surrendered three earned runs over five innings Wednesday in a no-decision versus the Rockies.
Stults was fantastic in his previous start, throwing seven scoreless innings against the Giants. But, as usual, Coors Field proved to be a tough test. He did strike out five without issuing a walk and will try to get back in the win column next week against the Mets.

Fri Jul 4 201421:52Stults fires seven shutout innings vs. Giants
Eric Stults delivered a brilliant performance in Friday's win over the Giants, firing seven scoreless innings while allowing just four hits and a pair of walks.
The veteran southpaw struck out six in the ballgame. Despite struggling for most of the season, Stults had the Giants offense baffled for most of the evening in this one. Now 3-11 on the season, he'll look to further improve upon a 4.96 ERA and 1.46 WHIP when he does battle against the Rockies in Colorado on Wednesday. He should continue to be avoided for fantasy purposes.

Sun Jun 22 201422:24Stults holds Dodgers to two runs over seven
Eric Stults allowed two runs over seven innings in a loss to the Dodgers on Sunday.
It's been that kind of year for Stults -- he pitches poorly and he loses, he pitches well and he still loses. The left-hander allowed six hits and walked three on the day. He remains winless since May 10, as Sunday's result dropped him to 2-10. Stults will take a 5.49 ERA and 1.54 WHIP into Saturday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Tue Jun 17 201419:36Eric Stults gets knocked around again
Eric Stults pitched poorly again Tuesday, getting touched up for four runs -- three earned -- over five innings in a loss to the Mariners.
The Padres spotted Stults a lead in the top of the second inning, but he then served up two-run shots in the bottom of the second and again in the fifth. The veteran left-hander now holds a 5.76 ERA over 15 starts this season, as the Padres would be better off giving just about anyone else a shot. For now, Stults is slated to face his former team, the Dodgers, over the weekend.

Thu Jun 12 201416:41Eric Stults gives up four runs in loss
Eric Stults dropped to 2-8 after allowing four runs in five innings Thursday against the Phillies.
Stults is 0-5 over his last six starts, with just two quality starts in the span, and his ERA for the season is up to 5.79. With Robbie Erlin nowhere near ready to return, Stults may get a little while longer to right the ship, only because the Padres don't have anyone else they want to try right now.

Eric Stults was rocked by the Nationals on Sunday, giving up six runs on eight hits over 2 1/3 innings.
Stults served up runs in each of the first three innings before exiting. The bad outing raised his ERA and WHIP to 5.68 and 1.55, respectively. The left-hander is a non-entity for fantasy purposes, but he'll start in real life Saturday at the Mets.

Wed May 28 201400:42Stults holds Arizona to 3 runs in no-decision
Eric Stults surrendered three runs in six innings in Tuesday's no-decision against the Snakes.
The soft-tossing left-hander punched out only one batter, and walked four, but he managed to hold Arizona to five hits, including Martin Prado's solo homer. He remains 2-5 with a 4.92 ERA and 1.54 WHIP, and we remind you that he's still not a fantasy option. Stults welcomes Pittsburgh to town on Monday.
