Henderson (shoulder) still isn't ready to return to the Brewers, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
A late-May setback forced Henderson off his first rehab assignment, but he was able to begin another one in early July. However, he's still not where he needs to be to rejoin the Brewers' bullpen, so he will instead head to Arizona to work on strengthening his shoulder.
Mon Jul 21 201411:00Jim Henderson transferred to the 60-day DL
Brewers transferred RHP Jim Henderson from the 15-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list.
It was a procedural move to clear a roster spot for Jeremy Jeffress and in no way affects Henderson's timetable. He's been making progress from a shoulder injury and could rejoin the Milwaukee bullpen this week.

Jim Henderson (shoulder) was given a cortisone shot on Tuesday.
Henderson had a setback last week when he experienced renewed right shoulder discomfort. However, he's hoping it will just be a small bump in the road. "We need to free it up and be pain free and then we'll be good to go, really," Henderson said. "I'm going to just ice it and make sure the injection stays in there and does its work. Then we can get back to strengthening it and exercising again."

Sun May 18 201408:57Jim Henderson to throw bullpen session
Jim Henderson (shoulder) will throw a bullpen session Sunday.
Henderson has been throwing from 120 feet with no problems. He'll be sent out on a rehab assignment if the 'pen session goes well. "The thing that was an issue before was I had a hard time getting loose and that's been good right off the bat playing catch," he said. "That's encouraging. I'll have to go rehab, and that's for everybody's benefit to make sure that we're ready to go and I'm back to where I used to be. It's more I want to make sure. I don't think I've really been right all year, and I want to get there so I can come back and be helpful to the team."

Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said Wednesday that Jim Henderson (shoulder) is likely to need longer than minimum stay on the disabled list.
It's not clear when the reliever will resume throwing, and he's expected to require a rehab assignment before returning. Henderson is eligible to rejoin the bullpen on May 17, but it sounds like we won't see him until later in the month, if not longer

Fri May 2 201411:25Brewers place Henderson (shoulder) on DL
Brewers placed RHP Jim Henderson on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation.
Henderson was rocked for five runs over two-thirds of an inning in Thursday's loss to the Reds, so it's no surprise that he's dealing with a physical issue. It's not clear if he'll be examined further or how long he'll be sidelined. Outfielder Caleb Gindl has replaced Henderson on the roster.

Thu May 1 201422:19Jim Henderson blasted for five runs
Jim Henderson was lit up for five runs over two-thirds of an inning in Thursday's loss to the Reds.
Henderson gave up four hits -- including the go-ahead homer -- and walked one in a nightmarish eighth inning. He exited with the bases loaded and Rob Wooten wound up letting all three inherited runners score. Henderson has pitched well this season for the most part, but with as lights-out as K-Rod has been, it's probably safe to go ahead and drop him if you're hunting for saves.

Tue Apr 8 201419:44Henderson sees uptick in velocity
Jim Henderson pitched a perfect ninth inning, though it was in garbage time, in Tuesday's win over the Phillies.
The big takeaway was that Henderson's velocity was back up in the mid-90's. His lowest fastball registered at 94 mph and his fastest came in at 97 mph. Good news for those who picked up Henderson in fantasy leagues with dreams of bountiful save opportunities.

Sat Apr 5 201423:49Jim Henderson retires no one
Jim Henderson gave up a double and a walk to the two batters he faced Saturday against the Red Sox.
That was all Ron Roenicke needed to see before replacing him with Zach Duke in the sixth. It was a significant setback to Henderson's chances of reclaiming the closer's role.

Tue Apr 1 201419:12Roenicke: 'We want (Henderson) as a closer'
Brewers manager Ron Roenicke reiterated Tuesday that he plans to re-install Jim Henderson as his closer once the reliever figures things out.
Henderson's velocity and mechanics were off in spring training, which led to Roenicke using Francisco Rodriguez in a save chance Monday. The good news is that Henderson is healthy and he should return to the ninth inning soon if he can right the ship. "Ideally, I would like to get him a couple outings where the game wasn't on the line. That's ideal," Roenicke said. "I'm not saying we can do that because if he has to pitch in a game where it's an inning I need him to pitch, then he'll pitch. We want him as a closer. That's what we want."

Mon Mar 31 201417:57Jim Henderson pulled from closer role
Brewers manager Ron Roenicke announced after Monday's game that he will not use Jim Henderson as closer because he didn't like the way he was throwing the ball at the end of camp.
Specifically, Roenicke wasn't happy with the velocity, command, and life of his pitches. Francisco Rodriguez closed out Monday's win over the Braves and will continue to get save chances for the time being. We'd imagine Henderson will get another shot eventually, but he's going to have to earn it.

Sat Feb 8 201409:57Jim Henderson will continue to act as closer
Brewers manager Doug Melvin confirmed Friday that Jim Henderson will continue to function as the Brewers closer after the addition of Francisco Rodriguez.
The 31-year-old right-hander usurped the role from John Axford early in the 2013 season and didn't look back. He compiled a 2.70 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 75/24 K/BB ratio over 60 innings of work. While he's locked in to begin the season, if he falters at all, K-Rod has certainly proven capable in the role before and should be the next in line for save chances in Milwaukee.

Sun Sep 22 201323:20Jim Henderson shaky but earns 26th save
Jim Henderson surrendered a run on three hits against the Cardinals in the ninth inning on Sunday, but still managed to escape with his 26th save of the season.
Henderson took over with a three-run advantage, but three straight singles, including one of the run-scoring variety from Carlos Beltran, brought the Cardinals to within 6-4 and put the tying runs on base, before Henderson battled back to fan Matt Adams to end the game. He's done an acceptable job as the Brewers primary closer this season, posting a 2.64 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 71/24 K/BB over 58 innings while converting 26 of his 30 save chances.
