Mon Apr 8 201317:45Laffey won't start again until next Tuesday
Aaron Laffey won't make his next start until next Tuesday against the Rockies.
The Mets have an off-day Thursday, which will enable them to go with Jonathon Niese, Matt Harvey and Dillon Gee this weekend against the Twins. Laffey gave up three runs on 10 hits and a walk over 4 1/3 innings Sunday against the Marlins and should get a few more chances since Shaun Marcum (neck) isn't close to returning from the disabled list. He isn't worth owning in fantasy leagues, though.

Aaron Laffey escaped with a no-decision Sunday despite allowing three runs on 10 hits and a walk over 4 1/3 innings in a 4-3 victory over the Marlins.
Laffey did manage to strike out five, but the soft-tosser was hit early and often in this one. With Shaun Marcum likely to miss at least a couple more starts, Laffey should get at least one more shot. It's likely to come next weekend in Minnesota.

Fri Mar 15 201322:40Aaron Laffey to be used as starter next week
Aaron Laffey, who has worked exclusively out of the Mets bullpen this spring, will be stretched out and given a start in a Grapefruit League contest next week.
The idea behind it, is to give the team an insurance policy in the event that Johan Santana isn't ready for the start of the regular season. Of his 22 appearances with the Blue Jays in 2012, Laffey made 16 starts and posted a 4.56 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 48/37 K/BB ratio in 100 2/3 innings. His fantasy value is extremely limited.

Mets signed LHP Aaron Laffey to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Laffey posted a 4.56 ERA and 1.36 WHIP in 100 2/3 innings this past season for the Blue Jays. The 27-year-old southpaw could open the 2013 season in the Mets' rotation but seems doubtful to carry any fantasy value.

Blue Jays released LHP Aaron Laffey.
Bobby Korecky and Shawn Hill were also released. Laffey posted a 4.56 ERA and 48/37 K/BB ratio over 100 2/3 innings with the Jays this season. He was likely to be non-tendered anyway, so the Jays just got the move out of the way early.

Wed Sep 26 201220:34Aaron Laffey to make one more start
Aaron Laffey is expected to make one more start despite dealing with fatigue.
Laffey tossed 5 2/3 shutout innings Tuesday but admitted afterwards that he was "pitching on fumes." He's thrown 100 more innings this year than he did in 2011. "He's a little stiff, and that's to be expected," Blue Jays manager John Farrell said. "He's kind of beat up a little bit in general physically, not any one specific area. [It's] not unexpected by any means, but we'll take every precautionary measure, every treatment available to him and see how he responds over the next couple of days and we'll determine his next time out." If Laffey is unable to take the ball again, Shawn Hill is likely to get a start.

Tue Sep 25 201221:59Laffey pitches well in victory over Orioles
Aaron Laffey pitched well in Tuesday's victory over the Orioles, scattering five hits over 5 2/3 shutout innings.
Laffey didn't walk a batter in the game, though he also failed to record a strikeout. All five hits that he surrendered were singles, and the Orioles struggled to mount any actual scoring threats against him. He'll take a 4-6 record and 4.52 ERA into his final start of the season against the Twins at home on Monday.

Thu Sep 20 201223:18Laffey knocked around in loss to Yankees
Aaron Laffey was knocked around in Thursday's loss to the Yankees, surrendering five runs (four earned) on two hits in his three-plus innings of work.
Laffey also issued five walks while striking out three in the game. The Yankees got on the board with a solo homer from Ichiro Suzuki in the third inning, then added four more before chasing Laffey without recording an out in the fourth inning. He's now failed to make it out of the fifth inning in each of his last three starts, posting a 7.15 ERA and 1.76 WHIP. He'll look for better results when he takes on the Orioles in Baltimore on Tuesday.

Sun Aug 5 201219:58Aaron Laffey picks up his third win
Aaron Laffey held the Athletics to four earned runs over six innings to earn his third win Sunday.
Laffey struck out four, walked one and gave up six hits. It's his third win in his last four decisions, but that's a hollow number. Laffey has yielded at least four earned runs in four of his last five outings and has given up 15 earned in his last three starts. Streamers should be able to do better.

Wed Aug 1 201201:21Aaron Laffey loses to Mariners
Aaron Laffey was pounded for seven runs in 4 2/3 innings by the Mariners in Tuesday's loss.
Back-to-back poor outings from Laffey should knock him out of the rotation. The Jays have both J.A. Happ and Brad Lincoln available to step in, but the guess here is that they'll keep Lincoln in the pen for now.

Fri Jul 20 201222:48Laffey terrific in victory over Red Sox
Aaron Laffey pitched a terrific game in Friday's win over the Red Sox, scattering eight hits over seven scoreless innings and striking out four.
Laffey, who has never had sustained success at the Major League level, is now 2-1 with a 2.77 ERA over nine appearances (five starts) for the Jays. He's still just 27-years-old, and quite possibly could finally be coming into his own and remain a strong fantasy asset for the remainder of the season, however that's a very risky proposition to bet on.

Tue Jun 26 201223:00Laffey impressive in no-decision vs. Red Sox
Aaron Laffey, making his first start as a member of the Blue Jays rotation, pitched extremely well on Tuesday, scattering three hits over six scoreless innings.
Laffey walked two and struck out two in the game. With the plethora of devastating injuries the Jays have incurred in their rotation, having someone like Laffey step up and fill an open spot would be a tremendous boost. While he has never had prolonged success as a major league starter, he has likely shown enough to stick in the rotation for at least a few starts, the next of which will come against the Angels at home on Sunday.

Fri Jun 22 201217:33Laffey to start Tuesday against Red Sox
Aaron Laffey will start Tuesday against the Red Sox.
Laffey has primarily pitched as a starter in the minors this year, but he hasn't made a start on the major league level since 2010 as a member of the Indians. Those in fantasy leagues can steer clear.

Mon Jun 11 201222:45Blue Jays recall LHP Laffey from Triple-A
Blue Jays recalled LHP Aaron Laffey from Triple-A Las Vegas.
Laffey has a 4.52 ERA over 11 starts at the Triple-A level this year. Brandon Morrow (oblique) is likely to need a stint on the disabled list, so the southpaw is an option to take his spot in the starting rotation.
